Tried the lunch buffet, and while the range of dishes offered was good, the actual food was disappointing. The lamb curry was under spiced (for my personal taste) and was cold. I do not mean cooler than normal, or tepid, it was actually cold. I pointed this out to the hostess, ( a very nice and polite lady), and she offered her sympathy but no resolution. I will not be returning and do not recommend the buffet. read more

Slightly above average Indian food, with warm service and added flair from their signature sizzling platters. The butter chicken and sizzling tandoor paneer dishes were good, though the latter came out burnt the first time (see picture). Ordered take out on a whim-veg samosas, coconut chicken curry and lamb biryani OMG SO GOOD! It is now my favourite place for indian, I will not even try any other place, the food came so piping hot and quickly that we didn't need to re heat and the multitude of flavours were unbelievable! The quality of the lamb pieces they used were great tender and tasted like lamb ( have had so many places use cheap lamb that tasted like cheap beef) . I had enough for a nice light lunch the next day (for two!) 5 stars!!!! read more

Nice decor and comfortable. I went for lunch and skipped the buffet and just ordered some small plates. The chicken pakora with the mint yogurt sauce was to die for. The veggie samosas were good, big and generously filled but they didn't blow me away as much as the pakoras. Best naan bread in the universe. Great service. read more

Enjoyed a nice dinner today at Sizzling Tandoor! A cheerful trendy environment as well with a nice variety on the menu. I had the Tarka Daal which had warming flavors and comes with basmati rice. We also had butter chicken poutine -yup! an Indian twist on poutine and a nice creativity :) service is great and cheerful waitresses. Will visit again for sure and recommend :) read more

It was a blustery evening and we thought we'd try Sizzling Tandoor in Langford for some comforting Indian food. I mention this all the time but it's always a welcome sight to see successful downtown restaurants pop up out in the burbs where the population is booming and good local eateries are desperately needed. Sizzling Tandoor is one of those welcome additions. We walked in and were greeted right away by the hostess. The big open space is chic and inviting and tastefully decorated with a modern aesthetic. A nice classy place for a quiet meal or date night. Service was on point, especially the general manager Kirn who was incredibly warm, welcoming, sincere and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with her and she made some excellent recommendations for us. Food was served promptly starting with the pakoras which were crisp on outside, soft and flavourful on inside. The tamarind chutney was the perfect accompaniment. The warm naan arrived bubbled and charred ever so slightly from being baked on the walls of the tandoori oven. We tried both the traditional garlic basil and spinach-stuffed and they were delicious. The hubs enjoyed the tandoori chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, grilled in the clay oven, and served sizzling hot on a cast iron platter. The tikka masala curry with prawns was my favourite dish. Rich, creamy, spicy, complex flavours. The best tikka masala sauce I've ever tasted. I've been craving it ever since... The lunch buffet special sounds like a deal and a good opportunity to try different dishes, including vegetarian. We opt to order off the menu for our favourite dishes and to adjust to our preferred spice level. Prices are not inexpensive but quality is top. We were thoroughly impressed with ambience, service and food. Side note: We had visited just days before the devastating tragedy of one of their chefs killed in a horrific car crash (he was struck on the sidewalk while on his way to work after celebrating his four-year-old son's birthday). When we heard the news we were shocked and heart-broken and to see Kirn rise up and start a fundraising campaign to support his wife -who just gave birth to twins- was incredibly heart-warming and a testament to the spirit of this restaurant. We will be back not only because of the delicious food but because of the family and community of people working at Sizzling Tandoor. Sizzling Tandoor is a wonderful addition to Langford and we highly recommend a visit. read more

Love the food. Close to authentic as you get (I only say close because some dishes use chicken breast rather than legs and thighs. I love how this place does it but speaking authentic...almost). Prices are perfect. Love the size of dishes, they make for sharing plates for 2-4 easy without being limited to 1 dish. Flavour is great; not too overwhelming. Staff is solid. My wife and I have been here twice now and have loved it both times. The service is friendly and prompt and the food is amazing. The flavours are layered which means they make everything from scratch and do it low and slow. Reminds me of travelling abroad. Definitely check this place out for date night. read more

Really enjoyed our lunch buffet today. This is a non pretentious restaurant that nicely surprised us with the quality of the food. The food was spicy, a pleasant heat to it and offered us each great choices for $14. I left with lots of lovely flavour lingering in my mouth! Our "picky eater" stuffed himself. Only negative is the decor which is very basic; we felt our experience would have been improved with a warmer and more cozy feel. The service was excellent. We will definitely be returning. read more
