Can't beat the location of the hotel. It's steps away from the beach, boardwalk, bars, restaurants, and other local shops. Everything about the hotel and my room catered to my likes. I had a large double queen with partial views of the ocean. I thought it was cool that they offered a cooler, which would be useful to take out to the beach. The open walk-in shower was made for washing off sand, and I loved that my bathroom also had a tub as well as amenities ready to go for a relaxing salt bath. I used the in-room record player whenever I got the chance. Each room had its own unique record too. My room had Lynard Skynard, but I saw that there was an extensive record library in the lobby for swapping out the music. That said, I opted to use the bluetooth function of the record player to set the mood for my space. As cliche as this sounds, I was in room 311 and played 311 while watching the sunset from my balcony. Lastly, as a yoga instructor I was pleasantly surprised to find a yoga mat in my closet. I also noticed that they offered yoga at 9am on Sundays and provided in-room yoga on the TV. I'd certainly come back to Kimpton Shorebreak next time I stay at Huntington Beach!

There's tons of shopping and restaurants in the area within walking distance. I have 2 pitbulls over 70 pounds and it was a struggle to find accommodations that would accept them. However, I do wish they had more pet accommodations, such as a potty area and built in crates in pet friendly rooms with bowls. They did provide dog beds upon request but the housekeeper delivered them arms fully extended barely grasping them with 2 fingers. Made me really uneasy to accept them if she didn't want to touch them herself. On top of that, one of my dogs developed kennel cough the day we checked out. And of course my other pet caught it a week after, then brought it home to share with my 3rd older dog. :( we did take them to Huntington Dog Beach so I can't say for certain that it was from the hotel, but I just have that feeling. Either way, proximity to the dog beach was excellent and my dogs had such a blast. We only encountered a few small pups yapping, other dogs seemed well behaved. Valet even gave my boys some treats and toys when we left :) I would definitely recommend this hotel for pet lovers. It seems they have some poor reviews from non fur patrons so I kind of wish they'd just completely lean into the pet accommodation... Either way, we felt very welcome here and would gladly stay again.

By the time we got to the property she and her team already had a good understanding of the history of the listing and were working comps real time to give us a clear understanding of what fair market value would be. Even adjusting it for what we were seeing in person at the property. We weren't certain if it was more of a buyer's market or a seller's market as it had been a seller's market for so long, but she explained the current conditions/trends of what she was seeing in the area and gave us EXCELLENT advice every step of the way. But she was also never pushy. She ultimately left it up to us to make the decision with the information she provided. We trusted her expertise and it absolutely paid off, literally. We got a deal on the property that we are very happy with. She offered great advice on everything from prices, timing, and even when to potentially walk away. Liz has a team of people that really seem to communicate as a team, not just a group of individuals working under the same company name. In passing conversations Liz talked about how she and her team work together, and it does seem like they get to share in each others expertise and experiences to develop a good understanding of the market. Liz also talked about what she does to train her team, and she seems like a great leader. No one looks left behind to fend for themselves, and it seems very structured so that everyone has support and training to deliver great customer service. Liz has a great reputation in the area which I think was a huge benefit in our case. The seller's Realtor already knew Liz and trusted her. We happened to meet the seller's Realtor, and even without Liz present, the seller's Realtor had nothing but great things to say about their interactions. Her expertise really does seem to be in demand as she seemed to be giving seminars or talks to audiences even outside of her team. Even with her busy schedule it never really impacted the scheduling of events at our home. She always still met us at the property for events like home inspections, walk throughs, and giving us the keys to the property. She always provided great communication and was very responsive whether it was through e-mail, calls or texts to help answer questions. I can be "particular" (picky) about some things and whenever I brought up a question or concern, no matter how small, she never dismissed it or tried to excuse it as something I didn't need to worry about. She took my concerns seriously and got them addressed. Out of everything, I think this is what I am most grateful for as it kept me comfortable working with her and I never felt like she was just trying to "close a deal", which was my preconceived notion of Realtors unfortunately. Gershorn, the bellman, was especially engaging and extremely helpful with storing our items and assisting us at the front desk. The front desk manager, Itzya, who checked us in, was also very engaging with us and our children. She provided outstanding customer service and made sure we had all the amenities and information we needed since it was our first time staying at the resort. Our room was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the Huntington Beach Pier. We had the opportunity to watch the sunset overlooking the ocean, which was truly remarkable and such a special memory to share with our family. The kids had an absolute blast at the Driftwood Pool. The pool service was amazing as well. The staff frequently checked on us, and our food was brought out in a timely manner. The security team also provided excellent customer service and did a wonderful job ensuring the pool area remained secure. Sean Williams (Security Director) & Jose (Security Manager) did an outstanding job with the security team they created. We also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Paulette Fischer, who personally greeted us and made sure our stay was going well. Because we booked through a third-party site, we were completely denied any flexibility or accommodation. To make matters worse, I was repeatedly criticized for not booking directly through Hilton instead of receiving any empathy or assistance. As a parent of a 3- and 5-year-old, I am not willing to risk exposing my children to any potential chemical issue, regardless of how many times staff insisted it was "perfectly safe." We are now out $1,400 simply because we chose to prioritize our children's health and safety. I even offered multiple times to pay an additional fee just to reschedule the stay, but was told "policy is policy." For some families, losing $1,400 and a family vacation may not matter. For ours, it absolutely does. The lack of compassion, flexibility, and customer care was shocking. I would give this hotel zero stars if possible. I have since deleted my Hilton Honors account and will strongly discourage friends, family, and community members from staying at Hilton properties in the future. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish.
