My mom and I wanted to stay here again for my brother's graduation the following month, but it was sold out the weekend of the Chapman graduations.

Was able to get a AAA discount at almost the last minute. The staff was terrific, although when the housekeepers saw anyone coming, they ducked away. That wasn't cool. I wasn't even looking for them, just crossing over to the stairs to get to my room & they scurried like cockroaches in the light as soon as they saw me heading their way. (There is no elevator, btw, so if you cannot do stairs ask for the 1st floor.) The staff attendant at the breakfast was so fabulous. She was really interested in ensuring guests knew what was available and making recommendations when asked. I expected packaged bagels and Costco muffins, but it was a full, freshly cooked buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, etc. Or cereal, if you prefer. Very well done. The room was very clean & they even had a bedbug cover for the mattress, always nice to see. The only problem I had with the room was that the a/c needed to be kept at 66 & on 24/7 to cool the room to a reasonable temperature, but when I did that it worked. Part of the problem, I think, is that there is NO SHADE AT ALL, so the sun was blaring onto the a/c. Bring sunscreens for your car because it WILL get very hot. The parking lot is very well lit and felt completely safe. In the morning, I was transferring to a hotel on the Disneyland property, so I left the BW at about 7:30 a.m. -- rush hour and the drive was less than 20 minutes, no freeways necessary. So, great price, excellent location, terrific staff. Also it was an easy check-in and check-out & the manager who assisted was pretty much perfect. Would stay here again.

This last bit was very important to me as I know that some of the hotels right near the parks can get a little gross. This was not the case here. It's clear that someone's taken a lot of care to really rehab this place and make it something special. The decor is so charming and it really feels like a little oasis on Harbor Ave. It is expensive don't get me wrong but you pay for convenience here. From the hotel to the security entrance, it's about a 10 minute walk. That on top of the free breakfast and aforementioned free parking make this place a no-brainer. I should also mention that there is a shuttle to the park, if you prefer that, it runs around every hour. Unfortunately, we came to Anaheim during one of the worst heat waves we've ever experienced, but the Candy Cane Inn came through with the stellar AC. This was a great retreat during hot days to cool off and catch up on sleep before heading back to the park after sunset. My only beef is they need to add a path between here and Avengers Campus since we're right next door! It would be so convenient.

This is the Disney experience you hear about. Complimentary Breakfast - from 6:30am-9:30am. But I saw people coming in at 9:40 and the staff didn't turn them away. Yeah, I'm looking at you Hyatt House. And the variety of foods is great. The fruit actually looks like it was freshly cut and not from a bag. They had papaya and mounds of blueberries when I was there, among the classics like strawberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon. Instead of a spoon to serve yogurt, they had flavored Oikos in their individual sealed containers so there ain't sticky fingers double-dipping! Lobby - they have fresh water with watermelon slices. For this stay, we did not bring the dogs but figured we'd just stay at ALO. We stayed in room 621 and yeah, the bathroom was small. If you're a pretty tall person, you'd definitely be head butting the shower head. They offer free breakfast. Eggs, bacon, cereal, toast, you know, the basic hotel free breakfast. There is a swimming pool. Staff's nice and accommodating when needed.

Guess what, no tickets in sight, not a one! Had to back out of there and pray to god that they didn't have those backward spikes to shred your tires. Once I got that taken care of I headed up to the room where I found the mini refrigerator was on to the maximum cold level and it was warm and to boot it buzzed. I tried to make the best of it and decided to make some coffee. The water leaked out all over the counter. I took a quick shower before heading out to meet up with my friends and it literally took 10 minutes before it got warm enough to use. Then the faucet dripped non stop. I called to see if i could change rooms and was told that if I did that the entire reservation would change as well including the price and since I paid more than what the hotel is worth I declined. I have two more days in this dump and then I am gone! I was better off with a motel 6. Customer service was rude! This hotel is not accommodating one bit.

Cast members were friendly, but the concierge goes above and beyond. I really appreciated them helping us with a scooter rental on the spot for my mom, who has a torn meniscus. During our stay, we stayed on the club level and took full advantage of The Veranda Lounge. The lounge offered food at 4 times through the day: continental breakfast, afternoon tea, "happy hour," and desserts. The snacks and unlimited beverages were worth it, and you could take them with you to the pool and to the parks. One one of the days, we spent some time at the pool around 4pm. The place seemed pack, but we quickly learned that many chairs didn't have returning occupants despite seeming to be reserved. We were able to snag 4 chairs with umbrellas. Not all chairs had umbrellas, which was unfortunate. My only complaint was that service felt very slow. Lastly, the rooms were great. Our room had 4 adults, and the space didn't feel cramped at all. The bed and pillows were comfortable to me, and I felt like I had restful nights of sleep.

Homewood Suites Anaheim Resort - Convention Center has become our family's go-to hotel for…read moreDisneyland trips, and with three kids, it solves the accommodation problem better than almost any other Hilton property we've found in the area. The hotel is relatively modern and has been maintained extremely well. Rooms have consistently been very clean, and there are a surprising number of configurations designed for larger families. Depending on the room, you'll find bunk beds, separate sleeping areas, and layouts that give mom and dad at least some separation from the kids at the end of the day. That's harder to find around Disneyland than it should be, particularly within the Hilton portfolio. The lobby is large, bright, and airy, with plenty of seating, a good snack/market area, and Disney+ seemingly always playing for the kids. The complimentary breakfast is the typical Homewood Suites buffet, but the breakfast area itself is enormous. It gets very busy in the morning--as you'd expect at a Disneyland hotel--but we've generally been able to find somewhere to sit even during the rush. The pool is OK. Nothing particularly special, but perfectly adequate for letting the kids burn off whatever energy Disneyland somehow failed to extract from them. Service has consistently been friendly and helpful. The property is also surprisingly easy to get in and out of for a hotel this busy. Two elevators keep things moving reasonably well, and multiple exits provide quick access to different parts of the parking lot. Parking is gated and does carry an additional fee, which is worth factoring into the room rate. Disneyland is walkable from the hotel, although I'd put an asterisk next to "walkable." With school-age kids it's very manageable; with toddlers or younger children, the distance becomes considerably less appealing--particularly at the end of a long park day. The location also works well for travelers who aren't visiting Disneyland, as the Anaheim Convention Center is very close. For families, especially loyal Hilton members, this is an outstanding option. There are hotels closer to the parks and certainly hotels with better pools or more upscale amenities, but very few combine the room configurations, cleanliness, breakfast setup, location, and family-friendly common areas as well as this one. While we are moving out of the stage of life where this may be the case, for our previous trips with kids ranging from 2-8, it's served our family, extremely well. -AC
