Took my car in to get 4 new tires put on. I receive a call notifying me that four new tpms sensors are needed which is a complete shock considering they all worked well before. I declined the new sensors. To my surprise when I pick up my vehicle, I found that they removed all four of my tpms sensors without permission, placed them in a ziploc bag, and one was completely broken off from the tire replacement. Instead of notifying me that they broke one off, they attempt to sell me four entirely brand new sensors, total scam. Only when I confronted them did they offer to replace it for free. These guys are clearly dishonest and I will not be returning all because of their mistake and a $90 part. I advise you find another garage to take your vehicle. read more

Evans City is my hometown and Skander Tire has been a staple in EC for a long time. They have always had friendly employees, great service, and were always helpful anytime I've ever been there. I stopped today in an Emergency situation after dropping my kid at the PGH Airport because the front bottom of my car ripped off from wind and was dragging under the car and wheels and was causing me to have to go so slow just to get home with my 5 year old and 1 year old girls. I tied it up in the middle with a phone charger on I79 by cranberry and drove 40 MPH yo EC. When I pulled into there was a mexican guy sitting outside the doors in his phone at the table. I asked him if he could help because I was having trouble trying to rip it off and he said "you need help?" I said yes can you help me. The guy says no I can't. I was at a loss for words. He couldn't even speak good English. Maybe stop hiring foreigners and hire Americans who are willing to help a fellow American. I sure Hope that employee is a legal citizen. read more

Took my vehicle in to get my winter tires installed and to try out their new mechanical offerings. They have a new bay that offers miscellaneous services. I have to say I'm very impressed with the service I got. It didn't take long to install my serpentine belt. From there my car was driven to the tire bay and they had my tires installed. It was a seamless operation with good communication from within. I would highly recommend going here as more of a one stop shop. The prices are fair and the people really care about their work. I'm giving three stars because of the past 20 years of service I've received. Unfortunately, today, February 22 2025, moved my experience from a consistent five stars down to three. Today's experience was a zero-star experience. If ANY explanation would have been offered, that would have made all the difference, but NO explanation was offered. I arrived at about 9:15 or 9:30 because the right rear TPMS was not registering. There was one car in the parking lot when I arrived and there were about 4 other people in the waiting room. I didn't check my watch but I will guess that they got my truck in about 20 to 30 minutes after I arrived. Approximately another 30 minutes later, they told me the TPMS was not working and would need to be replaced. I told them to go ahead and replace it. I expected that was the issue. Another customer came in with a leak in a tire, and then an elderly woman came it for an inspection. About 10:30 I started pacing because it seemed to be taking too long. Another 10 minutes later and the guy with the leak in the tire, was done. They had taken a nail out of his tire, patched it, spun the tire for balance, rotated all 4 tires, he paid and was gone. Still no sign of my truck. Shortly after that the elderly woman's car was finished with the inspection. Of course, an inspection consists of check two wheels for break wear, suspension check, emissions check, road safety check, lights check, wipers, tire check, etc. To my surprise, about 11:00 her car was finished. Still no sign of my truck. I saw the third-generation owner talking to a customer and I was still pacing, he saw me and said they were putting the wheel back on and that it wouldn't be much longer. Another 30 minutes before my truck was done. I never left until about 11:15 to 11:30. Two hours is far to long. I had another TPMS go bad on this same truck about 4 to 6 months ago and I was in and out in under an hour. No, I didn't make a scene in front of everyone, I paid and left. Of course, I walked around my truck to make sure they hadn't screwed something up and that was why it took so long but that wasn't the reason. There were no other problems that I could find so I assume either they put someone else's car in front of me, or the technician, Austin K is completely inept. In either case, this was completely unacceptable. I never expect special treatment and always pay without question. Again, I have been going to Skander for all my tire needs for the past 20 years or so. I currently have five cars and trucks, a farm tractor, a garden tractor, a zero-turn mower and an ATV. It's a shame but it looks like I'll have to find another tire dealer. I refuse to patronize a business that doesn't show a minimal amount of respect for customers. Got 4 snow tires put on which took about 3 hours because it was busy season which is understandable. However... I asked for a wiper blade and they tried to sell me a 16" wiper after I had told them 3 times it was an 18". They would not sell me the correct one so I went to the auto parts store and had them look it up and it was in fact and 18" blade. When I put the blade on I looked at my hood and saw it was completely opened and unlatched after I had driven 15 minutes to the auto store. I have no idea why a tire mechanic is opening my hood in the first place. Thats like going in for an oil change and they take your tires off. Not to mention the huge grease hand print on my white paint from them attempting to close the hood. THEN on top of that they sold me a TIRE Hazard Warranty and told me it was $70. When I got my receipt the total was $96. So they lied about that and then they tried to tell me my lug nuts were swollen after I (myself) had just changed my brakes and rotors 3 months prior and had no problem getting my tires off and torqued back on. Absolutely horrible service after waiting 3 hours and paying $1100. Half the young guys working there are horsing around and pushing each other in the garage and come back to the counter and act like they weren't doing anything. I will NOT be back. Also a disclaimer: I'm a male in my 20's that doesn't get angry about anything. I've never left a bad review anywhere in my life. I can only imagine what the older crowd feels when they get this kind of service at what is supposed to be a long time ran, family owned and respected tire and auto shop. Blew a tire on a trailer on I79 10 minutes before they closed. Called them and they stayed open until I arrived. Had a new tire mounted on my rim in 3 minutes and had me on my way with that and a spare. EXCELLENT SERVICE AND COMPASSION! Highly recommend! read more

I got two front tires for the winter. I got cooper tires and i LOVE them. I talked with Heather for a while up at the front desk and I couldn't of have had a better experience. Awesome service and great helpful staff. I just bought a set of tires for my van and got a great price. I left very satisfied and was notified that my low pressure light will be on and should shut off after a bit. It did but then my checkTPMS light came on and never went off after a couple days I contacted Alex and he told me to bring it in and they'll check it out. They found out that one of my tire pressure monitors went bad as it was 8 years old they said that old and a big swing in pressure from going full of air to no air back to full can kill them. And gave me the option of fixing it or just letting it ride with the light on since it's not necessary for inspection I went with letting it go. And Alex told me if I'm worried about tire pressure just swing by once a month to keep them full. Thanks guys your great!! read more

I went there today to for tires, Tina was not friendly or helpful. I didn't know my size tire, she had me go look for her instead of looking on the computer. She had an attitude from the moment I walked up to the counter. She told me it would be about an hour & a half I went out to my car to wait..while waiting I decided I would like to have a drink & something to snack on while I waited. She saw me backing out (again I still had an hour & 25 minute wait) I said I'll be right back. Instead of being friendly & saying " we'd prefer you stay on site to hold your spot she shouts "I'll take you off the list" again I said "I'll be right back" with her terrible attitude she said "I'll take you off the list". Not at any time did she tell me you must remain on site the entire time to hold your spot. I've shopped at Skander for years when I need tires for any vehicle, never will I return there. I guess she forgets people are spending a lot of money on tires, mine would have been close to $750. I will be sure to tell as many people as I can about my experience at Skander. read more

This is a typical Western PA business. Not as fancy schmancy as your local Goodrich Tire store. The waiting area has well worn furniture most likely dragged in from the home of the owner. And a huge dog wander around the office looking to be your friend. But they always have someone available to help you right away. On my most recent visit, I needed to get the oxidation scraped from my Camry's aluminum wheels. Most tire stores don't even know you have to do this! They noticed my tread was virtually gone, (I don't drive much), and helped me pick out new tires. They were balanced and installed in my car in a matter of minutes! Plus, they gave me an exceptional deal. So happy with this tire store. Well, as happy as you can be with a tire store. read more

Skander has been the only tire location I've purchased tires for the last 30 years. I stopped this morning because I was having a problem with a shimmy with my vehicle. We had a great deal of snow over the last 24 hours and I was concerned there was a tire issue. The mechanics were really great about explaining to me what they felt the issue was, said they would de-ice what was still on my tires and check the pressure. I was in and out within 5 minutes and Randy didn't even charge me anything for their time. The issue was fixed with this simple stop and as I'm in need to tires soon they will be getting my business, as they are always very kind and helpful at their location. read more

I've taken my car there for years to get my snow tires swapped on and off. Always $50. Today because I brought my own (new) tires, Mr. Wonderful up front who thinks he is a cool dude or something, hassles me because I decided to ultimately save money (imagine that!) and ordered them online. When I pull my car in to have them changed, the workers tell me it will be $100 to swap the tires. Again, always has been $50 in the past. What difference does it make if I brought new tires or used tires? This place is a joke. I hope the extra $50 they tried to get from me is worth this bad review. Never again. read more

Owner of this business is an absolute @$$hole. DO NOT GO HERE if you have a high performance vehicle. He was rude and unfair with pricing, made rude comments, and his customer service is terrible. He claimed I didn't know what I was doing putting a custom fitted set of wheels and tires on my Mustang. Then he made smarta$$, unneccessary comments when we had him install our custom wheel setup on my mothers BMW. He also threatened that if I came back in he would scratch my $3,000 set of wheels. They didn't want to warranty the tires I had on the car for which they are an authorized dealer. They gave me a bunch of stories as to why the manufacturer wouldn't warranty the tire. They even told me I had half of the tread life left even though the tires were down to the wear bars. I went to another dealer and the tires were replaced under warranty immediately.
