Medical dermatology is the core of what we do: skin cancer screening, diagnosis and surgical treatment, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, warts, rashes, and hair and nail conditions, for patients of every age from infants through seniors.
On the cosmetic side we offer Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Daxxify, fillers including Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptra, chemical peels, microneedling, PRP, and laser and light treatments for fine lines, uneven tone and texture, brown spots, scarring and unwanted hair, including CO2, IPL, PicoWay and Morpheus8.
This office is a dermatology office. Patients who need plastic surgery are seen at our surgical offices elsewhere in the group, and we can arrange that referral for you.
We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare, and we have Spanish speaking staff at our offices. New patients are welcome and referrals are not required for most plans.
History
Established in 1996.
Mid Florida Dermatology & Plastic Surgery was established in 1996, built around the Orlando dermatology practice Dr. Michael Gutierrez opened after serving as Chief of Dermatology at Florida Hospital. The idea was straightforward: give Central Florida patients the kind of skin care they would otherwise drive to a teaching hospital to find, close to where they actually live.
Three decades later that one office has grown into more than 25 locations across Central Florida and the Panhandle, with 41 providers covering medical dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and plastic surgery. We are still physician owned and family run rather than part of a corporate chain, and most of our patients see the same familiar provider year after year.
Our Palm Coast office on Office Park Drive serves patients from Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, Bunnell, and the surrounding Flagler County neighborhoods.
Meet the Business Owner: Michael G.
Hello, I'm Dr. Michael Gutierrez, founder of Mid Florida Dermatology & Plastic Surgery. I'm a board certified dermatologist, MD, FAAD, and I've been practicing for nearly 40 years.
I was born in Cuba in 1957 and came to the United States as a small child, growing up in New Orleans and New Jersey. I earned my biology degree at the University of New Orleans and my medical degree at LSU Medical School, then finished my internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. I was board certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery in 1987, served as Chief of Dermatology at Florida Hospital, and opened my own practice in Orlando that same year.
I still see patients, and I help train the next group of dermatologists as a clinical assistant professor at Florida State University's Orlando campus and on the teaching faculty at UCF's College of Medicine. I see patients in both Spanish and English.
