I had a great facial with Monica last month. She is very knowledgable and asks all the right questions. I appreciated her general skin care advice and recommendations for future treatments. Her boutique is comfortable and there is plenty of parking. Her prices are competitive and there was no pressure to buy additional products. I can imagine she has a lot of local repeat clients. I went to Monica to receive a Brazilian and seeing the pricing online I figured I'd add a brow wax as well. Upon arrival, I laid on the table and held my legs out in a butterfly pose with nothing covering. I'm used to having a towel over while I wait for my waxer. While I was on the table Monica had asked if I had waxed before and I told her I had however my wax specialist had raised her prices and it just wasn't in my budget anymore. I was informed that the price was based on how much wax was used. I had not been aware of this and now looking back at her website it does say $65+. I do wish that was made clearer before I was on the table but I digress. She offered to half of the Brazilian just not the backside if I wanted it cheaper, also looking down and stating "but yours is looking like $75". I did not know what she meant by that, whether that I was bigger or that I had more hair I am unsure but she kept repeating that her wax is very expensive and that it's high quality and offered to use soft wax stating 'i can use strip wax if you want to deal with the pain of it'. I told her no it was fine I was just unaware. I said if anything I would cut out the eyebrows because I only booked them due to the expected price. She said she would accommodate this time but often books time slots and would not again due to loss of other bookings or money. I said I understood and would get the eyebrows or not get them whatever worked for her time. During the wax, she had grabbed my leg, yanking it to the side several times and had me hold up my skin grabbing my hand and saying 'im gunna have you hold up here'. I have received many Brazilians and never had to do anything like this. Overall the wax was okay. Some spots missed but I understand that that happens due to growth patterns, ingrowns etc. but I wasn't fond of the grabbing, misleading of pricing and bedside manner. I will be going back to my previous waxer and lesson learned. read more

Monica was quick to respond to my txt message and squeezed me in. I was a bit worried since I did not see any reviews on Yelp for her business, but I decided to take a risk and was happily surprised. She was professional, kind and just really easy to talk to. Her studio room was clean and orderly. There was a couple spots of wax on the sheet that was layered on the bed, but otherwise spotless. She did an amazing job at distracting me with meaningful conversation and made a very comfortable environment with soft music and vibrant aromas. Booking was very easy. She sends appointment reminders via text leading up to your appointment which was super helpful with me and my forgetful brain. Her business is extremely clean, sanitary, CALMING. Her energy is pure so you immediately feel welcomed and relaxed. Minimal paperwork but she really looks through it to make sure she's meeting your skin needs and avoiding allergens. Soft music in the background, and I really enjoyed not having a heavy steam in my face. Instead she gently wiped my face with a hot cloth. It really felt tailored to me. The microdermabrasion was painless. Extractions are extractions and you can't avoid them but she was very quick and skilled about it. I would strongly suggest. I've had facials before but this one felt very upscale and personal. Her products were all organic and the massage made me fall asleep. Almost 24 hours after and I am in love with my skin.
