I have been a client of the Skin Wellness Center since 2018. My primary doctor was Ms. Linda, who assisted me in managing the dark spots on my face. Over the years, we tried various treatments, including Brighter Paths, retinol, and Vivant Daily Pads. On 6/20/2023, Ms. Linda recommended a peeling treatment to be scheduled for 10/23/2023.   The center's hours of operation are rather inconvenient and limited, being open from 9 AM to 12 PM, then closed for an hour, and reopening from 1 PM to 4 PM which makes scheduling appointments difficult for people who work a conventional 9-5 job. Additionally, reaching the center by phone is challenging as calls are rarely answered or returned.   When Ms. Linda performed my peeling treatment, she applied a very strong peel to the areas she had been previously treating and she advised a follow-up after two weeks and provided me with instructions to use Brighter Paths for use post-treatment.  She did return one call to follow up since the peel treatment, but the call was missed since I was at work. When I attempted to return her call, no one answered or called me back.   During the 2023 holiday season, I received no further communication from Ms. Linda or the Skin Wellness Center. Concerned about my skin's reaction and condition, I sought a second opinion elsewhere and was informed that the peeling had caused a burning reaction and damage to my skin. I attempted to contact the center again without success, so I visited in person. I was informed that Ms. Linda had been terminated in November and the center failed to notify me of this change.   I spoke with the owner, who reviewed the missed calls during that period. Despite my willingness to give the center another chance, I agreed to schedule another appointment and, in the end, it ended up being another letdown. I was told to schedule an appointment with Dr. Melanie for a biopsy to assess the damage to my skin and determine a new treatment plan. However, once again, scheduling this appointment was extremely difficult due to her limited availability.   Two months later, I finally met with Dr. Melanie, but the experience was disappointing and something I hope no one else has to go through. She was rude and dismissive, blaming me for the damage (saying it was my fault since I'm the one responsible for scheduling, she was not understanding/considering that the center was not returning calls) and stated that there was nothing more she could do. She abruptly left the office shouting and left most of my questions about the new treatment process unanswered. To say there was a lack of compassion was an understatement.   This center demonstrates a lack of concern for their clients' well-being and fails to take responsibility for their actions and poor medical treatments, which can lead to serious health issues. My experience has been extremely distressing, and I want to warn potetial customers to avoid this place. Do your research before visiting a place like this so you don't end up with physical and emotional scarring like me!! Your skin and well-being deserve better care than what this place provides. read more

I've had great experiences here. Dr Haynes did a great job on an excision right under my eye. It took around seven stitches and there's no scar at all! Howard, the nurse practitioner, is really cool. He's very outgoing and high energy. When he takes biopsies, they're finished and stitched up practically before you can blink. The ladies up front are really friendly too. read more

First of all they never respect to the valuable time of the customers!!! I had an appointment at 2:00 pm, I took off from my work for that appointment, I was there before 2:00 pm. They put me in a room and ask me to wait, nobody showed up for 45 minutes, even nobody gave me any explanation about that waiting time and delay!! After 45 min I told them I need to leave, because I had to go to work back! I can't wait more, they told me goodbye sir without any excuse or explanation! Everybody's time is valuable, if they have any emergency they should have told this to me so that I will not waste my 45 min there waiting for the doctor! They don't respect to customers, and this is not a nice way of treating to customers! I will never go there again. read more

I called for an appointment and verified that they were in network with my insurance. When I got there for the appointment, they copied my UHC card and told me that the charge for the visit was $20 above my copay. I objected and was told UHC had that arrangement with them. Since I was already there I paid the extra $20. When I got home I checked with UHC and was told they are NOT in network. Needless to say, I will not be going back. I advise anyone going to this place, don't be like me, check with your insurance company FIRST! read more

The office staff is great. I had a mixup with billing and wasn't able to pay my bill on time. I called and explained the situation and the girl I spoke to was SO nice and super understanding. They're all super friendly and accommodating. You will not have to wait long at all and are in and out in 30-60 minutes depending on what you're having done. This is also a great thing about this office. Fastest doctor's office ever! Now for the negatives: Dr. Haynes is very nice, but I feel like she doesn't really care about anything other than giving you medicine. She doesn't look into the issue and just gives you samples of medicines, even if you don't want them. I showed her an allergy panel of mine in which she responded, I don't really deal with allergies. Um, excuse me? You don't deal with allergies and you're a dermatologist? Don't allergies affect the skin? That was the last straw with me. I also had an extreme allergic reaction to an OTC face wash she told me to try. I ended up in urgent care and now carry an EpiPen at all times. I called to let the staff know about my allergy and what happened and they seemed like they couldn't care less. They said they'd pass the message along to Dr. Haynes. I figured I'd at least get a call back from her seeing as I've been seeing her for years, but I didn't. I will be seeing another dermatologist from now on. read more

I have seen the ARNP Howard and have been happy with his service. The wait to be seen is very short which is convenient! Unfortunately, the experience with the provider is not the only piece that influences my opinion of a medical practice. I was very disappointed with the medical office staff during my last visit. The office staff wanted me to use a local pharmacy to fill a prescription insisting that it would be cheaper for me to purchase from their recommended pharmacy than to use my regular pharmacy. In terms of convenience, I prefer to keep all of my prescriptions at one pharmacy and not spread out among many. After they faxed the prescriptions to their preferred pharmacy (without asking me), I asked for a hard copy of my prescriptions to take to my regular pharmacy. The medical staff gave me a really hard time about this and initially only gave me one of the two prescriptions that were written during the visit. One prescription was an antibiotic and the other was a cream, no big deal. Finally after I insisted and refused to leave the practice without hard copies in hand, they finally gave me hardcopies of both of my prescriptions. It was an unnecessary hassle that should have been avoided. I want to go to a dermatology practice that not only has good providers, but also has competent office staff that don't make you feel like a lunatic for simply asking for hard copies of your prescriptions to fill at the pharmacy of your choosing. read more

The office staff was super friendly! I arrived about 20 minutes earlier than my appointment in order to allow time to complete paperwork and not only was the paperwork easy and minimal but they were able to get me into see the Dr and out by 11:10am (my apt was for 11am). I had a small mole removed too and it was painless and extremely quick! I will continue to utilize this office for all of my dermatological needs! read more

There is a form on their website to request an appointment. After I filled it out, I got an email right away stated "You will be contacted within 48 hours." Never happen for 3 days, so I filled the form again and got a 2nd emails "You will be contacted within 48 hours." and waiting whole week, still never got a call back. read more

I made an appointment to see Dr. Haynes about 6 weeks in advance, insurance was verified and everything was in order according to the office. A few days before the appointment I began to receive texts and emails to remind me of my appointment. On the day of the appointment I left home n plenty of time to arrive early for my appointment. I am an RN and had taken the morning off (which is difficult). My drive is about an hour, over the Skyway Bridge. As I neared the Skin Wellness Center, I received a call from them informing me that they were "not in network for my insurance" and wouldn't be able to see me.....this was about 25 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. After almost 6 weeks, they wait till 25 minutes prior to my appointment to call me. I spoke to their "office manager" (Jack) who stated they "dropped the ball" and that was it. End of story. I asked to speak to Dr. Haynes but of course never heard from her. Why would a doctor actually lower herself to call a patient, even one that has know her for 17 years? So they cost me 2 hours of driving, a half day of work, a 1/4 tank of gas, and 2 bridge tolls. As an RN I am well aware that this complete disregard for patients come from the top and it is that attitude that makes it clear that this doctor and this office should be avoided at all costs! This is not the rant of a disgruntled patient, this is an experienced RN who recognizes the disregard for patients, especially when it is this evident. This is NOT an institution that you or your loved ones should take a chance on. As of this writing, I still have not heard from them and don't expect to. The 2 suspicious skin areas that I have will have to wait till I can get another appointment with a true professional. I had the Hydra Facial by the Esthetician. I would not recommend this service or any other service by this person because she seemed very rushed. Did not even do any kind of skin prep for extraction prior to the Hydra Facial. The facial itself felt like she used the machine on the face once completely and then only in spot afterward. Not at all what I expected for the first Hydra Facial. For the amount of money this place charged (I had several facials before) I was very disappointed in this service. I did have fillers by Dr. Haynes and she did a good job. However, I was not complete satisfied since I need additional filler (marionette lines and lips). For the years of experience I expect a professional to tell me up front how many units it requires. Scheduling was another issue. I should have paid more attention to the schedule when she handed it to me. I assumed the follow-up of the filler was with the Dr. , however, I had a follow-up scheduled with the Esthetician at 10AM and the Dr. at 2PM which made no sense. The 2pm appointment was not even on their schedule anymore when I spoke to reception about it. For the amount of money they charged I expect better service and a professional opinion not a gimmick to get you to come back for more since you are not satisfied. read more
