My girlfriend goes to Mahoney Dermatology. The medical assistants were uncaring and discourteous particularly Julia. She doesn't seem to enjoy her job and often impatient. This clinic seem to care more about billing than caring for patients. read more

I called this morning Feb 17th when they opened and the person making appointments scheduled me for a 2:55 pm in the afternoon with the doctor. She kept putting me on hold but, she took all my info and again back on hold. Thats when we were disconnected BY HER. I called back and she said she had to schedule me for another day because a person online took my appointment. I'm sorry but you tell a person you are booked for 2:55 and they have all your info then say your appointment is gone. Well just maybe first thing you do is secure an appointment you gave someone. Stop putting them on hold and finish what you started!!! So, 1 Star at best. They need to get their act together. I wouldn't trust them if they told me I had an appointment at this point. I have tried 3 different Dermatologists in the area and dissatisfied with their treatments. I have a friend who suggested Mahoney Dermatology and we are extremely pleased as they listen and are knowledgeable and explain your treatment plan. I went in for a particular item and in the Exam my Doctor found a spot and said they wanted to send it off for labs. I had been to another Dr. in a large group of Dermatologists who told me it was nothing just months before well it turned out to be something and trusting the big group before could have led to disaster. I highly recommend Mahoney Dermatology and you get to see a Doctor versus assembly line treatment at others. read more

Do not trust these people anymore they do not care about their patients. I have been seeing Dr Mahoney since he opened his practice years ago. I have an appointment in a few weeks and I get a phone call from a rather unfriendly woman in the office just telling me she's canceling my appointment they no longer take my insurance and if I wanted to see anyone I'd have to pay just like that.. no nice letter saying make your last appointment nothing and I am in the middle of treatment for an issue caused by my kidneys and I have been in need of refills and treatment and this is the way they treat you they only care about the dollar. And the rudeness of the person that called me was uncalled for because I am an established patient for many many years. Total disgust! read more

I am a new patient here and won't be returning. Amber was great and seemed to care about my medical issues. However when I called to find out how much my follow up appointment would cost, the lady on the phone today was extremely rude. I am paying out of pocket with no insurance. She gave me a general answer, "we can't give you that info until after the appointment, we don't know what the doctor will require". She didn't ask my name, didn't look at my file, and was extremely RUDE about me inquiring. I said, "can you give me a base cost, it's just a follow up. No further treatment will be needed" She said she couldn't answer, "anywhere from $350 to $750." My issue is medical. Not cosmetic. The lack of care and *rudeness* is enough for me to cancel my appointment. I'd rather go without answers from the doctor than support an office with rude staff. read more

We visited Mahoney Dermatology after an extremely poor dermatology visit elsewhere. We wanted a second opinion before we decided on performing a procedure on my 2 year old. We didn't realize in the waiting room until halfway through that there was a kid area behind the short wall filled with kids toys, books, coloring stuff and a tv. She enjoyed this area a ton. We did have a bit of a wait but no big deal! We went back into the room which was fully painted with tons of animals, which she loved. There were toys and books in the room as well, which she enjoyed. We were seen by Dr. Mahoney and a medical student (?) I believe for education purposes - which is always all good with me. Dr. Mahoney is fantastic! A complete 180 from the dermatologist we saw previously. He treated us with respect and care. He is extremely thorough in explaining everything, which I appreciate immensely. He also offered to do a full exam, even though he figured our prior dermatologist checked her out. (They didn't!) so very thankful he mentioned it while we were there. All in all, he's very personable and informative. Totally open to questions and hearing out his patients' concerns. Extremely happy we found this office. read more

Went here for the first time for an eczema spot I've had on my left arm for a while. I was helped by Dr. McKinley, may I say that she was the biggest moron I've met in my many days. She mentioned my acne more than once while I was wondering why that matters for an eczema appointment. I'm just a typical teenager that has quite common acne. Nothing bad. But she felt the need to go out of her way to ruin someone's self confidence. I don't feel the same way anymore. If you ever end up getting Dr. McKinley, watch yourself, she might call you fat or ugly. This one star review is not meant for Dr. Mahoney, it is meant for Dr. McKinley. Well, it is what it is in this world. Now it's time for me to chow down on some Chinese food. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I came with worsening hives and the oral prednisone taper they gave me did not work. I asked for a prednisone injection (the only thing that has worked in the past), but they refused to give it to me and basically told me "sorry good luck elsewhere." I don't understand why people entrusted with our health and well-being would refuse to help a patient who is experiencing such discomfort. Seems like they don't care about patients at all. read more

I had my general exam about a year ago since I had heard such good things about Dr. Mahoney and his family. Although I was not scheduled with him (possibly my fault,) he did come in during my exam with an intern to show her some things which happened to be a second opinion which verified what my nice practitioner had just said. My friend went to another dermatologist and had questions about what to do post op. It was then when I appreciated Dr. Mahoney's office more because I was given ointment for my small biopsy site and hand written specific products for my other concerns along with the printed wound care sheet. I had extra an ointment packet which I shared. The office was clean and all had a good bedside manner. My questions were answered. I did not wait long. I will be back. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Mahoney for several years. Dr. Mahoney and his staff are outstanding, from office practice to medical procedure. I had my annual skin check today. I was called in at exactly my appointed time, checked out by his PA and was talking to him within five minutes of getting in to the room. Sometimes he has student-doctors with him. His demeanor and in-depth descriptions to the students and myself are what make Dr. Mahoney stand out. I've referred several friends to him. If you need to see a dermatologist, you need to see Dr. Mahoney, in my opinion. read more

Worst customer service EVER!! Was told by Madison (Addison) on 3/23 while making appt that it was okay for my children to be accompanied by their grandma to their appt, and nothing else. Show up for appt after being pulled out of school early to attend appt only to be turned away by Dr. Honigbaum who would not treat kids because a parent wasn't there. Understand processes and procedures but issue was at time of making appt. I would have planned for myself or husband to be there if told from the beginning. Was told a consent form would be emailed to me (parent) by Cathy while kids and grandma waited in office, but then owner Erin Mahoney advised kids would not be seen as the md pulled her into the hallway and said she would not treat without a parent there. Mind you kids are established patients and grandma has taken kids to their appts before (but apparently consent expired ). Erin wasn't the most friendliest delivering the message, and told me I should've gone on their site (again nobody mentioned going on their site before appt). I would DEFINITELY not recommend this office, and would give 0 stars if I could! I realize medical care has drastically changed, but all staff needs to be trained to communicate everything from step one and be a little kind, not asking much. read more

My daughter was referred here by our pediatrician. The office staff was very helpful and worked hard to get us in quickly. Our first assessment visit was informative and surgery was scheduled. She had a lump surgically removed. Dr. Mahoney was very thorough and kept my daughter calm and relaxed throughout the entire procedure. He explained to me everything he was doing as he worked. His nurse was also very competent and engaging. Both are witty, friendly, and professional. A follow up call was made the day after to check in on her. I'm going to switch our entire family to this practice! read more

Dr. Mahoney and his PA Amber Zeiger showed great concern and professionalism at my first visit. They took all the steps to identify a strange rash and treated it properly, took cultures and biopsy right away. Our first visit to Dr. Mahoney's office, and I'm appreciative for the great service and professionalism. My daughter was referred to Dr. Mahoney by her primary pediatrician reference a small skin tag near her eye resulting from scar tissue due to a small dog bite when she was very young. This was the last physical remnant of the incident, but since it was close to her eye, I did not trust any over the counter solutions. Dr. Mahoney professionally diagnosed and removed the pin head sized scar tissue and without pain. Thanks again Dr. Mahoney !!!! read more

Unbelievable, I make an appointment , go there, pay to have some questionable spots frozen off. One of those spots was totally missed, meaning the doctor froze next to it. I paid my bill not realizing the error. The following day I discovered the issue and decided to buy the over the counter products to do it myself. I never complained no big deal. A YEAR later I start receiving bills every month from this doctor for missing an appointment that I supposedly made during my visit. I do recall the doctor asking if I wanted to return for a 1 year follow up. I never heard from them again, no call making the appointment with me or any other contact until I started to receive the bills and the bills keep coming. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! They sure send monthly statements charging me for missing an appointment , perhaps they could have called me or sent me something in the mail BEFORE the appointment. Like I said UNBELIEVABLE!!! I paid for one of their mistakes and never said a thing but I will not pay for their second one. Oh and I get calls from bill collectors imagine that with a 800+ beacon score no less. read more
