A staff member, who I strongly suspect had little to no experience, administered tear trough filler after talking me into it. The results were immediately wrong. I asked for it to be dissolved right away. What followed was weeks of runaround. They had me return every two weeks, and with each visit their attitude worsened, especially once I declined their repeated pressure to purchase additional services. I came in wanting a small, natural result. They saw a revenue opportunity. After multiple attempts, they were unable to fully dissolve the filler. I am now seeking treatment from a licensed dermatologist to fix what they could not. The practice is run by someone with no medical credentials, not a physician, not a nurse practitioner, not an aesthetician with any verifiable expertise. The medical authority here appears to be a nurse who seemed undertrained for the procedures being performed. A medical spa performing injectables should be overseen by a licensed physician on site. This one is not. If something goes wrong, and it did for me, there is no qualified person there to fix it. Avoid this place. The consequences can be permanent.

Based on their confidence, I paid upfront for tattoo removal and 3 syringes of filler. Right after the first tattoo removal session, I was told the tattoo removal wouldn't work because of the ink color -- something they absolutely should've mentioned before selling me a package. With the filler, I was only given half a syringe (with no explanation until after I paid), the filler was placed wrong and was injected on the inside of my mouth as opposed to around the lips where it's supposed to go. It was done in small section so you could see where the product was and wasn't. I was told that it would need to be dissolved because I had a bad reaction- I've been getting filler for years, but again trusted them, so I got it dissolved and came back. When I returned to get the rest, they told me they'd thrown it out because "they can't store it so I need to purchase more" Again -- never disclosed until it was too late. I asked for a refund and was told several times it was being processed, but months went by with no response. I followed up constantly, stayed patient and respectful, and was either ignored or brushed off. Finally, someone from their national office called me -- he was rude, aggressive, and sarcastic from the second I answered. When I asked him not to talk over me, he paused for a full minute just to say, "Just wanted to make sure you were done before I was allowed to speak." Then he hung up on me when I address his behavior. I spent thousands of dollars here and got nothing I was promised. Now I have no thousands of dollars in credits that I will never use. They lie to make the sale, botch you, dodge accountability, and treat you like an inconvenience if you ask questions. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I never wanted to embarrass myself by sharing photos of my lips, but want to help anyone else who is considering going here. Save your time, money, and sanity -- go literally anywhere else.

After having a virtual consult I was then put on a regimen of HQ and retinol among other skincare products that were recommended (my skin didn't really tolerate HQ too well) and this regimen seemed to have helped my skin for the time being, but then something horrible happened to the melasma on my face!! My skin has darkened to the point I can barely cover it with makeup ( I literally cry when I look at my face in the mirror because of how dark the HQ has made the melasma on my face. I don't even know how to reverse this damage and I feel so hopeless because now it seems I have to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to correct this skin issue that was never this bad. I was told to buy more products which cost hundreds of dollars to now correct this reaction. I wish there was more caution or emphasis on how delicate HQ can be for someone's skin!

While I don't want to be overly critical--and I do hope to return for other services--I believe it's important to offer an honest, constructive review for both potential clients and NLI leadership. I originally visited NLI for tattoo removal and was encouraged to purchase a membership for discounted med spa services. That part made financial sense, and I've been very happy with the laser treatments I've received. However, my experience with lip filler has been deeply disappointing. Where It Went Wrong Despite initial hesitation, I decided to try lip filler at NLI and was assured by the front desk that an instructor would closely oversee the process. Unfortunately, that oversight was clearly lacking. The result was unacceptable. My lips were uneven and poorly filled--so visibly botched that I needed two separate visits for dissolving. The instructor allowed me to leave without any acknowledgment or plan to correct the issue, which was both shocking and unprofessional. Poor Customer Support I reached out to customer service and was met with dismissiveness. Rather than take ownership, I was made to feel as though my expectations were the problem. The proposed solution? Let another group of students correct the work. Understandably, I declined. When I asked to have my lips redone by an instructor, I was told I'd need to purchase two new syringes and have additional areas of my face injected--which I never wanted. While I was willing to pay the "at cost" rate to correct my lips, I did not agree to unnecessary procedures. Eventually, after escalating to the owner (who never personally responded), I was told an exception would be made: I could have my lips redone by a top injector, Heather. Final Frustration I drove an hour to my appointment, only to find a student--not Heather--about to inject me. When I explained the situation, the instructor claimed they "don't do that," and Dani (customer service) completely denied our agreement, despite my having written proof. At that point, I felt backed into a corner. The students were kind and reassuring, and not wanting to waste the trip, I allowed them to proceed. I'm currently waiting for the swelling to go down and hoping for the best. Final Thoughts To be clear, this review only pertains to my experience with lip filler. I've been pleased with my laser services and still believe NLI offers value in that area. However, I urge NLI to: Update your paperwork to clearly outline what happens when services go wrong. Improve accountability and communication, especially with customer service. Treat client concerns seriously--especially when we escalate due to failed resolutions. To future clients: I'm not saying avoid NLI altogether. Just proceed with caution and advocate for yourself. And to NLI leadership--when a client reaches out directly, it's because all other channels have failed. Had I received a simple, sincere follow-up, this review likely wouldn't have been necessary. A Visual Comparison To provide clarity, I'm attaching two photos: The first shows my lips after filler done by a different provider (which I was extremely happy with). The second shows the results of my filler treatment at NLI. The difference speaks for itself. Please proceed with caution. Addendum to address the providers response: It's sad that you still refrain from accepting accountability. You mention "a bump?" What? My lips were so absolutely overfilled with filler, it took two sessions of dissolver to get rid of it all. It was NOT just "a bump". Students were shocked to see what had been done to my lips, and the person dissolving them had to rub them so much, so hard and so long, it left a huge sore on my bottom lip. You know - after all I've been through with this, a simple, "we're really sorry for the trouble" would go a long way. I know what a "teaching environment" entails and I'm okay w "mess ups" as students learn, but what I don't appreciate is the condescending attitude that I have received in result. Students will mess up, that's understandable - but what isn't understandable is forcing people to inject areas that they dont want have injected in order to have the original area fixed by someone other than students (who could mess them up again). Your "paperwork" didn't explain this expectation, and no one told me this would be expected if I wasn't happy with my lips when I scheduled the original filler appointment. The first I heard of being forced to have my marionette lines injected was AFTER the students messed them up. That is just poor business. Instead of coming at someone who had legitimate concerns, maybe review your processes, improve your paperwork and communications with clients. See this as an opportunity for improvement- THAT would be admirable. The lack of accountability is truly astounding.
