DO NOT GO HERE. YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK. I prepaid like $1,200 for treatment during some sale they were having in Aug/ Sept at their West Loop, Chicago location. I had some of the treatment done and was supposed to return for the rest of it. I received a text from their staff a week before I was supposed to return, stating that they just last minute were given notice from corporate that their Chicago locations are closing and they were only given a couple days notice. They told me to contact corporate to receive a refund for any treatment I prepaid for and did not have done yet. They owe me like $460. I have been emailing and calling for the past 5-6 months and they stopped replying to my emails. When I call their corporate number, the call gets transferred to their Texas location and the people who answer there keep telling me that my refund is going to come. Last time I called they told me they moved me to the top of their list of client's refund cases their manager is working on, who at the time was conveniently away on PTO. They had someone text me saying that corporate would reach out to me within a week and I would see my refund in 7-10 business days. Never heard from corporate and never got a refund. They've made all kinds of promises to me that sound genuine on the phone, but it seems they were definitely trying to just get me off the phone and off their backs. I am definitely starting to think this entire thing was some sort of scam and that they have ZERO plans of returning anybody's money. DO NOT go to this place if you are considering med spa treatment. They filled my lips here years ago and completely botched them. The filler all migrated above my upper lip. It's YEARS later and I've had them dissolved several times and am still dealing with the aftermath. My top lip has never looked the same after I went here. I don't know what they injected me with, but it's not normal to have filler still lingering above my upper lip 6-7 years later. A plastic surgeon told me today there is still filler there, which is wild because I've had his dissolved by it's a secret med spa in the past and also the same surgeon. It literally won't go away. The injector injected WAY too close to the vermillion border and it all migrated upwards. It was an experience that completely traumatized me and I will never get lip filler again. I was extremely impressed by this salon. To begin, the front desk was helpful, informative and kind. After some new client paperwork, I was taken to a room to answer a series of questions by a healthcare professional, which I thought included very good questions that indicated they were putting patient health, first, over making money. (Something rare to find and definitely important!) I did a consultation with Alisha for botox and lip filler. Previously, I had gotten botox at a different place and it did not turn out well. When I saw Alisha she was able to tell me in professional, clear, layman's terms what had gone wrong, why, and how to fix it. My results after her correction were as close to perfect as possible. The first person I had went to here was Rebecca for some Botox on my masseter to help with TMJ and some bonus facial slimming. She was fantastic and wanted to start me off slow instead of trying to just push me to spend more money. Then I followed Ellory who trained directly under Rebecca at the Plano location for my follow up Botox and we upped the dosage and had even better results. One day my best friend wanted to try lip filler so I went with her. She saw Ellory who did an amazing job and also did some on her cheeks which got rid of her lines under her eyes. I saw Haley for my virgin lips and she is definitely an artist with her craft. I highly recommend listening to these ladies and their professional opinion. After months of researching Dallas doctors/RNs specializing in lips, I found several It's A Secret injectors that had impressive Instagram pics. I was a little skeptical due to their ages and "work uniform"-workout attire-screamed unprofessionalism. I tried to be open minded, considering their vast customer photos with perfect, yet overdone, lips. I learned quickly that photos can actually be more misleading than a 3 am infomercial. I chose Rebecca at the Uptown location for several reasons: 1) she seemed older than the others-hence, more experienced, 2) she had several posts regarding safety and best practices for injectors, and 3) she advertised being "Consultant Clinic trained on cannula procedures" (Consultant Clinic is considered the holy grail of clinics in the industry worldwide). Since I am client-facing at work, I opted for the use of a cannula instead of a needle (cannula=no bruising). I had my lips done by a plastic surgeon a year earlier using a needle and bruised so badly that I hid out in my house for a week. What I had done at It's A Secret Med Spa: Restylane for lip & chin enhancement and Dysport on my forehead and corners of my eyes=$1,600 The appointment positives: Rebecca is very sweet and did a fantastic job with Dysport placement, while giving me a slight brow lift without looking frozen! Also, I found out about a $300 discount/promo at checkout. Endless Negatives: As other reviewers stated, no one goes over pricing. It is basically a surprise when you get to the receptionist after the appointment. I wonder how that affects the 20-year-olds that come in based upon one of their $250 bait-and-switch advertised promos? More importantly, Rebecca has no business performing lip enhancements with a cannula. She is definitely inexperienced and left me with lumps, unevenness in my upper lip and filler placed BELOW my lower lip on the left side (see pics). I actually felt her pushing the cannula below my lip but she claimed that "the left side always hurts more than the right." Not my first rodeo-it doesn't hurt more on the left. I waited the standard two weeks for the product to settle and swelling to go down before reaching out to the clinic with my concerns. This is when things went left..... I sent three emails over a three-week period and never received a single response. Huge red flag! Accidents happen, but when a business refuses to correct their mistakes and accept responsibility, what does that tell you about their business practices? What if you had a medical emergency from an injection? They market themselves as a "med spa" that has to abide by medical regulations. Good luck! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and would advise you to avoid being misled by their blatant misrepresentation. Overall I'm not impressed. I booked with Amber and when she came out to get me she got my name wrong. So already not off to a good start. I booked for a hydra facial which is 60 minutes and I also asked for extractions. We started at a little past 12:30 and finished at 1:20 . I feel like she rushed through it and I got ripped off because the full-time wasn't even used. Nor did she do the extractions like I asked for. Untrustworthy business that does not take ownership for wrong doing towards patients/clients. They only value the dollar sign you bring not the patient. In September I got my lips done and they were lumpy and horrendous. They had to be dissolved which they says was "free". Nope it was still 25 dollars for their mistake. I paid 400 dollars for my lips to be done. The 400 dollars of filler was gone with no refund. I ended up having to spend 1500 dollars to get my lips fixed by another girl in the office on an emergency basis (who is actually good but i can no longer see due to the business practices). I assumed it was just cause the other girl was newer to the spa that it was a one off since she's an NP. So I recommended my mom see Rebecca for her face as Rebecca appears to have a good reputation and good practices. Boy, was I extremely wrong. Rebecca only cares about a sale. And again this place refuses to refund for product that we did not agree to. She placed filler in places that were not discussed such as Cupid's bow, the chin, and the lines around the chin. We only discussed smile lines, cheeks, and undereye. Rebecca HERSELF says to only fill 60% of an eye the first time but filled to 150%+ on my mom Well 1) she REFUSED my mother's medical records showing filler 6 months prior. She didn't listen when we both tried to tell her she already had some filler there and if she wanted to see what brands. 2) she overfilled to the point my mom couldn't put her contacts in 3) she overfilled so much on her smile lines there were wormlike lines where you could see the filler!!! There are now blue like lines from overfill on my mother's face. There was pain, suffering, and filler placed in places never discussed till the needle was in her face. When we contacted the office they refused a refund and when passed to corporate they never responded. It's DISGUSTING the type of person allowed to work there. Rebecca brags that she brings in the most sales to clients while injecting their face, admits to inexperience after you agree to let her touch your face while she's injecting, and then tells you since you can still see everything is fine and not to worry. This place is unprofessional and does not understand when a refund is due. I went in to get Botox on my forehead since my normal lady at a different place was full for the next few weeks. I have been getting Botox for about 3 years every 3-4 months so I am pretty familiar with how many units I need/ how long it takes everything to kick in. Unfortunately, my Botox never kicked in. For Botox this place is fine. My lips got messed up here she injected the filler incorrectly and it flipped my lip up. I have been getting my lips 2x a year for last 10 years. First time my lips ever looked like this it was terrible. Looks like buck teeth. Flew out to my regular spot in OC to have it corrected. Unfortunately it can not be corrected, I have to wait a year. I also received Voluma in my checks incorrectly which was done incorrectly along with volbella under my eyes that didn't work and ended up with severe bruising. Went to oc had it all done. My eyes were fixed within minutes, no bruising and everything looks great. I have also notice they may cut the Botox with water because It's not in the Botox bottle. All my experience with Botox and filler I have never received injections from an unmarked bottle. I can't say for sure but there is a reason the Botox is not in the original packaging. Maybe it's a secret can clarify the bottle transfer. Would never recommend or go back. read more
