I was impressed that company policy is to send out a scout ahead of time to get an accurate and detailed first hand look at the project so as to be adequately prepared on the day of service. On the day of service, they arrived on time in very professional vehicles (trailer, pickup truck, van). The 3 young men (intelligent college students) plus the foreman of the project, were courteous, professional, & conscientious. They were respectful of the property and removed items with care, even though the items were slated for destruction/donation. They were quick, they didn't fool around or stand around smoking, they were polite and did not curse, they didn't take a break until they were almost done (I offered them lunch). They finished ahead of schedule and cleaned up any debris or trash that fell during the moving process. The entire project from start to finish went off without a hitch. The only caution I would offer is to be aware that paying with a credit card (instead of cash or check) includes a service fee, which is clearly stated on the pre-estimate contract prior to agreeing to book the service. After a long time, two were eventually corrected (flashing was done incorrectly in one area and a second area was sided over without applying house wrap). I have water damage in three rooms that Almar left for me to take care of. One room still leaks when it rains and I'm still waiting for Alison or Craig to respond to my last email.

Craig was excellent during the project kickoff phase as well, when my wife and I went back and forth on design details and even had to put the project on the back burner for a few months. He patiently input our ideas into his design software so we could see how the room would look, and explained the myriad tradeoffs between time, money and design in a way that made perfect sense and made it easy to make the right decisions for our family and budget. Once the project started, Mark and Ed kept us informed in person and via email, and were very friendly, personable and helpful onsite presences. Ed especially went the extra mile, doing jobsite cleanup at the end of the day -- something that wasn't strictly required -- as well as some small safety touches I would never have thought of to make sure that our curious 5-year old didn't have any chance of hurting himself if he "accidentally" wandered into the area. The rest of the Almar crew was similarly good, and even the electrical, roofing, & insulation subcontractors were top notch. Rachel at Waste Network wrote back to us promptly after we requested an estimate through their website, and continued to communicate with us in a timely manner as we sorted out pricing and scheduling. Within a couple of weeks of our initial contact, Waste Network was at our house picking up our unwanted stuff. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and invoiced us electronically the same afternoon, at half the cost of the other company's quote. I could wish they had included the extra $35 disposal fee for our old dehumidifier in their original estimate, but that's really just a minor quibble (there was mention a $35 fee for TVs/monitors, which apparently extends to some other large electronics). Overall we are very happy to finally have the old junk that was hanging around our property cleaned up and gone!
