After a drought winter, our roof leaked various places, especially the living room and kitchen (huge prob needing cosmetic and leakage fixes). He tried to blame leaks on us, for not removing ice dams, when the new "membrane", after removing the previous effective underlayment, was probably at fault. We have a leak in our family room and contacted Easton Roofing to come out and give us as estimate for a repair. The person who answered the phone said he would have his scheduler call us to set up an appointment. The scheduler never called. We subsequently left voice messages over several days and weeks to follow-up. They never returned our calls. We sent them a follow-up email, and they did not respond to that either. I can understand if they are busy, if that is indeed the issue, but they could have at least returned a phone call. I just happened to google this company, and they were close to me and randomly gave them a call. I have a house that is apparently tall, with multiple high gutters - tall enough that I have had over 12 commercial and non-commercial gutter companies refuse to work on my house to clean my gutters. I called Chris at Easton Roofing, and explained my situation. He quoted me a price - which was more than fair - and said he would be out in the next week or so. I have had other companies go through this process with me, only to "ghost" me, or decide they can't clean the gutters due to various reasons (all associated with the height or positioning of my gutters). Chris came out, in the time frame he told me, and did a fantastic job - rinsed, cleaned and reattached. My gutters were so bad, I had plants growing out of them - they were AWFUL! We are thrilled with the job Chris Fitzsimons (owner) and his team did replacing our roof. We reached out to Chris for a quote and within two days he was at our home assessing the job and providing a quote. Chris sat down and explained the various options available (types of shingles and warranties), provided us with a timeline of the job, and included a lengthy list of references in our local area (Mansfield and Easton). Chris and his team arrived at our home at 6:45AM and finished close to 6PM. They did a great job being careful with our landscaping around the house and did a very thorough job cleaning up the shingles, nails, etc. It was like they were never here! The dumpster for the debris was removed from our driveway the day after the job was complete (we were pleased it was not sitting in our driveway for days and days) and Chris came by just today to be sure we were happy with how everything turned out. Suffice to say, we are delighted with the work Chris did and highly recommend him to anyone looking to do their roof. Chris is honest, dependable, and communicative - a dying art in today's world! The worst beware this company does not honor there contract. Also misrepresent product in his contract. He did not start the job in a timely manner I waited 2 months. Very unprofessional. If you want to pay more than what he states in his contract hire him, also if you want damage to your property hire him (damage a downspout crushed it) and if you want nails in your tires hire him( I was picking up nails in my garage and driveway for days). NOT IMPRESSED! All I have to say is beware get everything in writing. Would not use him again or recommend him. read more

After some due diligence I came across Easton Roofing. Talked to Chris (owner) who gave me a reasonable quote. Said it's a one day job and they were able to complete the roof in hours. They started early in the morning and were done in the afternoon, all the trash was collected and nothing was left laying around. Very impressed with quality and honesty from this company. Don't even know where to start. He pulled a bait and switch on the day he showed up. Estimate was spelled out to remove existing shingles, put down an under layer and all the flashing. Day of he tells one of the owners that he's not going to do any of that. Just put down a second layer of shingles. To do everything that was laid out in the estimate would be more than double the price. Then his workers did not put down any tarps around their work area and got roofing tar everywhere. When I tried to have a conversation with him he screamed at me on the phone. My husband then had to call him and he was so incredibly rude. I'm sorry but I'm not paying all that money until the work is actually done, including all the clean up. I'm not a roofer but even I know to lay tarps down. read more

I thought that I'd done a good job on due diligence before I chose Easton Roofing, but I later found that I'd make a huge mistake. My contract said that all foundation plantings would be covered with a tarp, however, when I noticed that they weren't, and saw that my rhododendrons and hydrangeas were being damaged, I called Chris who was on another job. I mentioned it to the guys who were doing the roof and got no answer. Chris finally showed up and asked them why they didn't use all the tarps and the guy I tried to speak with just shrugged his shoulders in response to Chris. Chris had included replacing my skylight in his quote and they removed the old one. Then he told me that he couldn't get a new one that would fit the current bathroom opening. My choices were to put in a bigger one that I'd no longer be able to open the screen to clean the window, or have the gaping hole in the bathroom ceiling fixed by a carpenter at my expense. I had no choice but to have him put in the larger replacement since the cost of having the skylight hole repaired would be above what I could afford. Why didn't he measure it before he started the job???? In addition, someone had to go into the house (while I was doing a quick errand) to set the skylight up, and because they couldn't get the back storm door to close tightly when they went back outside, they kicked it, resulting in a gaping hole in the side panel. When I asked Chris about it he denied anyone kicking the door and said that the damage probably happened from it blowing in a wind storm. I told him that it wasn't damaged prior to that day while I was gone, and that he could clearly see the boot print on the outside of the door. He had no answer for that except continued denial. His workers removed my gutter screens while replacing the roof and left 4 of them on the ground where they fell. The rest weren't re-installed correctly. Chris tried to tell me that the screens weren't meant for my gutters, however, I paid good money to initially have them installed and not one had ever come off in the 4 years post installation. I had to pay the installer to re-install the screens this Spring. The re-installer told me that the gutters and downspouts were full of broken shingles. Chris's contract also said that a magnetic roller would be used to ensure that all nails were removed from the grounds. I had to have them come back 3 times and I'm still finding nails and chunks of shingles in my foundation plantings. There's more, however, I mainly wanted to warn others that sometimes selecting a local contractor, even after doing your research, leads to total dissatisfaction. read more

I hired Easton roofing this July to do the roof, I told the owner Chris that I want him to use nails not staples, The crew was delayed because one of his workers was drunk,so he had to call another crew,they didn't speak English,One of their vehicle parked at my Mail box,I had to ask them 3 times so eventually one of them moved it!!,They didn't cover my backyard steps,I had so many nails,dirt on them that I had to sweep 3 times on that day,one of the nails fell in our Pool which they didn't cover either,thank God it didn't puncture the Pool Linning but I stepped on it so I had to go to ER for Tetanus shot & stitches,The Crew was careless,they were throwing the shingles rapping on the Yard from up there,few of these also fell in the Pool,their clean-up was lousy, Till now I am still picking up rappings,old shingle pieces & staples from the yard & that how I found out that he deceived me & they used staples instead of nails,I wouldn't recommend them,I even thinking about suing them in small claim because of the medical expenses that I had to pay due to the nail injury to my foot. Very professional job. These guys work hard, fast and long hours. They had to take off two layers of shingles plus take off old particle board and replace with plywood. I was here the entire time and watched them replace my roof. On the first day the worked from 7 AM until 7:45 PM long hours. They also replaced the front gutters with down spouts and installed gutter guards. There was a lot of trash to collect and they did a fantastic job cleaning up nothing was left behind. I would highly recommend Easton Roofing if you need a new roof. They also have a construction division which I would consider hiring them if I needed any work done. Buyer beware!!Any roofer can put on a roof. Most can do it in a day.It's the ones that stand behind their work you need to hire.This company doesn't. 3 years ago I had an addition put on my house that never leaked.One and a half years later, Easton Roofing replaced the roof of my house(not the addition roof). Within 2 months, water started coming into the house between my kitchen and the new addition. Chris blamed the contractor i hired and insisted it wasn't his fault.I said it can't be a coincidence right after he replaced the roof, it started leaking and he said it was. Well now I'm remodeling my kitchen, and when we removed the ceiling, we found exactly where the water was coming in. It's called the cheek. The 70 year old flashing between the garage and the house was never replaced,letting water leak in down a beam and into the new addition. the first time i called him on it, he responded on my answering machine, screaming in defense. I contacted him 3 more times to come see for himself,and stand behind his guarantee, and has completely ignored my request. BUYER BEWARE! I had a tree come down on the corner of my house. Called Chris on a Friday evening and he was at my house the following morning to give me an estimate. He gave me a great price to fix the roof and gutter. Texted him on Monday to let him know I wanted his crew to do the job and by Saturday they were at my house at 7am. Finished the roof in one day and came back Monday to finish the gutter. Chris was professional and his crew was great. I haven't found one nail or staple yet in the yard..cleanup was meticulous.
