I got the BBQ burger with a salad, the burger was good but the bun was kinda hard, tough to eat. There was only one other person in the restaurant with me, when they got done eating they had to go find the waitress, they even looked in the kitchen and couldn't find her. The waitress was on her personal phone talking to someone and we had to go get her and ask her to get us stuff. One of the better restaurants in PGould. Been here several times and it never disappoints. First time trying Sunday brunch and it was a good choice. They have eggs Benedict's, breakfast burritos and French toast. We so look a burrito which comes with salsa and queso (yum) and the bourbon berry French toast was quite good. This is hands down one of the best places I've found in my travels. The menu has some really awesome favorites and some very different choices as well. They make a homemade pimento cheese which is to die for. The atmosphere is great! It's clean and inviting. Staff is friendly. First trip I had the Pimento Cheese Burger and it was amazing. Today I tried the fried green tomatoes and OMG! They were delicious! For my meal I had Salmon BLT. So yummy!! They have a fabulous happy hour Monday through Thursday. We visited Skinny J's this evening, after having found them surprisingly off the rail on our previous visit. My previous review received an immediate response from Sara, a manager, and she asked us back and arranged the visit. Not surprised at all, we had an EXCELLENT experience. Five of us ordered the 8 ounce filet in various forms and fashions. Our steaks and sides were simply stated, PERFECT! The appetizers were terrific and we had a good server. Skinny J's has found its mojo again, and we will be frequenting them more often. You can't go wrong eating here. I highly recommend the restaurant. read more

It was ok. Not bad, not great. Service was fine and food was fair. It's a little bit expensive for sandwiches but everyone has bills to pay. We went on a night with live music by accident so it was a bit loud but we just went upstairs so we could hear each other talk. It's nicely decorated inside. But that's about as far as I go with the niceties. I asked for a club soda and got a tonic water. That was a shock. I'm sure the waitress had no clue what she had given me. It took a few minutes to get a regular water and I dealt with the quinine taste with that. I ordered a black and bleu salad. The waitress asked if I wanted Ranch dressing with it - even though it was on the menu with bleu cheese dressing. Yeah, ok. Sure, ranch. The steak pieces were bland and had no char at all. I wasn't impressed. I had also ordered a side of green beans. Over salty and otherwise tasteless. The price wasn't bad, but wasn't great. I won't be back. My husband is working up here bi-weekly so we decided to venture out based on local Yelp ratings. No regrets! Our waitress Mariah was fantastic! Everything was so tasty and filling. We started with the Beer Basket Appetizer, which was too much to finish but we put a good dent in it! The Ranch dressing was homemade I believe and the perfect accompaniment to the fried pickles n jalapeños. I had the Cheesesteak and fries which was perfect for my liking. My husband had the Blue Cheese Burger. It was loaded with so much blue cheese and bacon that he could not put his additional condiments on (not complaining) Overall we were very happy from the open parking spots, to being greeted/seated immediately, drinks and food in a timely manner, super service and very tasty food! We'll be back again in 2 weeks! We have a whole menu to get through! We went again today for an early dinner and again it was all great! There is not much in downtown Paragould.... you will be happy to know Skinny J's is a gem among the "not much". I am a big fan of "J's" in Jonesboro, this location is equally good. First, the building is very cool. Large bar and upstairs dining area. The only drawback is a complete lack of Internet (even if you are packing a Mifi device, maybe some sort of lead based paint or something). Service is very friendly and helpful, this place attracts a good band of regulars. Fun menu of American fare, burgers, steaks, sandwiches, and seafood. Approved! Give them a try! read more
