We came here on a Monday night. We were later than expected because there was a wreck on the highway. We arrived at 8:51pm. Our party of 5 walked in and we greeted a man sitting at the host desk in his phone. We asked if they were still open and he looked at his phone before replying "ya we close in like 9 mins". Feeling like an obvious inconvenience we decided to thank him and look for a place "still open". We drove up the road and ate at Brick Oven pizza. Have eaten here twice while in town for business (carry-out or Doordash), and it's been really good. The penne was never overcooked, the chicken was properly done, and the vodka sauce was terrific. They serve garlic-parmesan knots for table bread, and a side salad with the entrees. They are maybe a bit on the pricey side compared to some local restaurants, with $22 entrees and $9 tiramisu, but everything is expensive these days, and these guys are probably one of the nicer places in town. I informed the hostess that I was from CA to celebrate special birthday for my daughter and she said if I purchased a dessert, they would put a candle and come sing happy birthday to her. My husband and I are frequent comers here, and we love our visits every time! The staff, especially Leo are the kindest and extremely attentive. Not only that, but the Italian food is authentic here, the best you can get around here. The environment is beautiful, making it feel dreamy and as if you are not in Paragould anymore! Did not get the food I order. I ordered the Avanzare Special. It had no sausage, no mushrooms, no artichokes and was served on a bed of extra large round pasta instead of spaghetti. I have always enjoyed this place, but the same thing happened last time, I ordered an entree that should have had shrimp and it did not. Service was ok, but nothing special. From now on if I go here I will only order spaghetti. Maybe they can make that right. I think I got ripped off the last two visits. This will probably be my last time. read more

Beautiful dish. However, the beards weren't removed from the mussels before preparing and serving and this left a somewhat undesirable appeal. I did simply remove them from the dish and enjoyed the pasta. When I called attention to it, the waiter said they were supposed to be served like that. . We paid and left a tip. I'm leaving this review to let the kitchen staff know the mussel is supposed to be rinsed and the beards removed before serving. read more

I avoided this place for quite a while because I believed (fervently, but mostly baselessly) that Paragould couldn't have good Italian because there historically didn't seem to be a market for it and Fazoli's was the pinnacle of Italian food as far as the locals were concerned. The strip mall location just reinforced this belief. I thought that it would be, at best, re-warmed Marie Callender's quality. But no, I was wrong. It's pretty good. Not as great as one would hope, but pretty good, especially for NEA. The space inside, despite the look of the exterior, was that of a warm and inviting family Italian place, roomier and more comfortable than I expected. The service was attentive without being obtrusive. They were very generous with the bread, which was *much* better than most of the table bread I'd had at other places. The food was hot and fresh. I got the chicken marsala and the thick breast pieces were cooked very well, better than most I must say. Well done but still moist and tender, a trick a lot of places don't seem to be able to pull off. My son said he was extremely happy with his pizza. I generally wouldn't think much of that because he's not particularly discriminating where pizza is concerned, but it was of a type that is atypical for him and I didn't think he'd like it much at all, so his praise carried a bit more weight with me than it normally would have. There were things about this or that I could quibble with, but I won't since they're mostly preference things and not quality issues. It's ok to gripe about bad quality (not applicable here) but I don't think reviews are the place to air my grievances over recipes or technique. Suffice to say that these quibbles were what contributed in large part to my earlier "not as great as one would hope" comment above. The only complaint I feel I could justifiably level at this place is that the portion sizes are too big. Reduce the portion size and cut the prices a bit. My table of 6 at a Sunday lunch with a couple apps weighted in at $150 before tip with nearly everyone taking home boxes. Not outrageous, but I'd have left pretty happy if there were no boxes going home and a 20% lower bill. Overall, a good experience and I won't hesitate to go back if I'm looking for some good Italian. read more

A colleague and I enjoyed two delicious meals. I had the Ravioli de Portobello, and my companion had the Avanzare Pasta Sampler. The lunch specials come with a tossed salad and Italian dinner rolls. The salad was amazingly fresh, and the rolls were baked in the restaurant's kitchen. The flavored olive oil dipping sauce was delicious. A few quibbles. The cashier was also acting as the server, so our drink order wasn't completed until after we had been seated at our table for several minutes. I took this as a cue to place my food order in conjunction with my drink. The food eventually arrived, delivered by whom I assume was the kitchen runner. My ravioli was very good, and the sauce on top was wonderful. Unfortunately, the plastic plate that my meal was served upon meant that my meal was not served hot. (Also, none of the pasta is made at the restaurant.) The server/cashier was friendly, and accommodating as she was comfortable being. I was unsuccessful in my attempt to obtain a sample of the restaurant's meatball, and told that I would have to make a complete order of four meatballs. I declined. Maybe next time. Whenever I happen to again be in the area, I would be pleased to dine here again. Here's to hoping for more flexibility. read more

Several folks I was working with in Paragould recommended this place. There were only two cars in front of the place. The parking lot is very nice, clean, and easily accessible from the highway. The building is a strip shopping center. However, don't let that dissuade you. This book's cover hides the great story inside. The decor was minimal but reminiscent of a Tuscan villa. We were greeted and shown to a table immediately. There is no alcohol, and no BYOB is allowed. A basket of warm, absolutely delicious garlic and Parmesan coated bread with a wonderfully tasty olive oil, basic and caper dipping sauce was delivered to the table. I normally don't eat complimentary bread, but could could have had a meal from this alone and had been happy. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. They were large, covered with a sauce that I could have had a bowl of alone. I had the shrimp and chicken carbonara. While the chicken was slightly overcooked, the pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce just wonderful. The sauce had a perfect amount of bacon fat and was balanced nicely. Not salty at all and had a slight tomato tinge. The dish was accompanied by a salad that came out in a nicely chilled bowl. It was a nice touch. The two guys I was with had veal Marsala and veal Siciliano. They both raved about the taste of their food. All three dishes were more than enough to serve two people. The prices were less than you would anticipate to pay. My carbonara was $14.95 and veal dishes $13.99. My total bill was $30 with tip. I have paid a lot more for less food and food that didn't taste anywhere near as delicious. I'm surprised the place wasn't full. The service was a tiny bit slow but we never were left feeling ignored. I'm coming back again later this week. You need to try this place. It is very much worth it. read more

My family has ordered food for pickup or delivery often in the 4 years we have lived in Paragould. The quality of food is now very inconsistent and trending downward. Last night (7/14/23), we ordered a pasta trio which was ok but has been much better previously; a spinach calzone which was both partly ok and partly not so good; and chicken and shrimp carbonara which had absolutely no bacon as stated in the menu description (bacon is the primary ingredient in any carbonara). I threw most of it away. Additionally, the restaurant says it has chocolate cheesecake. At one time it did, but you now receive layered chocolate cake with a 1/4" chocolate mousse separating layers when you order it. It is then smothered in chocolate icing, sauce, etc. Nowhere did I mention cheese because it was not cheesecake. Very disappointing dining experience! read more

This place is larger on the inside than it looks on the outside inside s strip mall. Nice menu with lots of choices that should please most in your party. The bread they deliver to the table is super tasty brushed with butter and Parmesan. The toasted ravioli appetizer is quite tasty and a good way to start and share with the table (I think there were 5 or 6 raviolis). The gnocchi soup with chicken is very good. The pasta sampler with lasagna, manicotti and ravioli is a good way to try a few of their pastas and a good value. They have affordable wines by the glass as well. A good choice for a special occasion! We came to Paragould from Pocahontas for our 47th anniversary. The bread and olive oil arrived promptly and was delicious. We both had pasta. He had shrimp and I had chicken. Both dishes were plentiful to the point that neither of us could finish, and very tasty. Our server was friendly helpful, and prompt. Can you give no stars. This place was terrible from the get go. Slow service. Some not all of the waitstaff was rude. Food was mediocre. Spoke Toni about my chicken parmigiana being half frozen in the middle and he just shrugs his shoulders like it wasn't his problem. So much for fresh prepared daily as advertised. Any attempt to communicate with this man was futile. And he was rude to his waitstaff also. To top the evening off my pant legs were covered in fleas after I left. Now I don't have any pets so I'm pretty sure I didn't carry this many in with me. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Unless you like microwave Italian and fleas. read more
