Hands down the most vile hot dog (not sure it was a hot dog) I have ever eaten in my life. It was not beef-based in any way, but rather a disgustingly small dish. Ordered and was served in 12 seconds. They don't have sauerkraut or relish but call themselves a hot dog joint. Gross on every level. Tasty dogs!! I just moved to Georgia last year. Whenever I got a craving for chili dogs I would run to Athens. Well I heard about this place and decided to try them out when I had my next craving. On the dog, The bun was very soft and the hotdog had good flavor. The chili didn't have tons of flavor to it, and I don't believe it is homemade as it appears to be something out of a can. Overall it was a pretty good dog for the money. My main gripe with this place is that Skins is supposedly a southern staple, born and bred in Anderson South Carolina, yet the only sweet tea they have is in a premade off-the-shelf package. Ladies and gentlemen, this is South Carolina. There is absolutely nothing more sacred than having good quality sweet tea on tap at all times!!! The hotdogs are ok but do not order a chili dog because chili to this place is just putting cooked hamburger meat on it. I am use to real chili dogs where the hamburger is cooked in chili sauce so the chili dogs are good. The ones here are dry and bland tasting. read more

A real hot dog joint. Friendly family style place with a simple menu - hot dogs. Nothing fancy here, just some good simple hot dogs. They are pork and beef combined and are good. Not large, not fancy, nothing pretentious at all. The buns are great. Just a bit doughy, soft, steamed... they have the expected toppings. I got chili and mustard. They are not large so I ate two. We used to go to Skins in Greenville when we lived in Greenville and really loved the hot dogs. Plus, they had specials for a dozen hot dogs and such. First of all, we went here and my boyfriend was like "I'll have a chili dog" and they're like we don't have chili dogs........ WTF? There's even one in the picture!!!! For some reason the stupid waitress just decided they didn't have chili dogs when they obviously do. How ridiculous is that? Hot dogs were ok. Nothing special at all and a little expensive for a small little hot dog if you ask me. I'd rather go get a foot long coney from Sonic or some cheaper dogs from Hot Diggity Dog in Liberty, SC. Unfortunately I do not have a skins nearby because I believe these are about the best hot dogs you can get out anywhere. So anytime I am in the area I stop in. I love that they just do what they do well, hotdogs with the perfect hotdog chili, a few onions, and some mustard. Get a couple and you will probably want a few more. Cheap lunch too with chips and a drink (sadly no coke products anymore though). One of the best things about Skins though is the service with a smile. Always GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD and TIMELY! I have LOBED SKIN's since I was a young child! As an adult I recently moved to Anderson and I have to say, I can't get enough of this place! I literally try to find days I can go by and get Hit dogs when I get off work! Unfortunately it is always after 6:00 and they close at 6:50. So I'll place an order driving home and swing by and pick them up, but it is SOO WORTH IT! And as an added bonus they don't accept tips directly to the waitresses! There modo is, "if I'm not paying the waitress enough, then I need to give them a raise." Something to that effect. It takes one stresser off the customer! They keep customers coming and going very quickly! So I can't say how wonderful this place is! Anywhere with the name Skin's on it usually ROCKS! This one takes all the cake! read more

Skins Hotdogs sells a nationally recognized hotdog. If you're from out of town, you must eat here. These hoys dogs at Skin Trashers in Anderson are very good. They really know how to make them.

Fast, cheap, and easy! Service is very quick. If you plan on eating in the restaurant, just have a seat and a server will be out almost immediately to take your order. If taking it to-go, just walk up to the counter and someone will take your order. You'll get your food in a matter of minutes, usually about 1-2 minutes after ordering depending on the number of hotdogs you get. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because they charge 50 cents for a tiny little cup of cheese and a can of soda is almost the same price as a 20oz bottle($1.45 can compared to $1.85 for a bottle if I remember right). Granted, the cheese is usually packed in there but it's cheese, it shouldn't be 50 cents. If you haven't been to Skins, is a local treasure that needs to be experienced by Anderson newcomers! read more
