Guthrie's was a solid fast food chicken shop. The chicken had a good flavor that made it stand out from its competitors, but I don't think it was ultimately as good as something like Zaxbys or Superchix. The fries were also good but not great. Also, the menu is pretty limited which isn't necessarily a huge con but should be noted. A must for chicken loves! The service fast and friendly. The chicken tenders are spectacular and made better by the signature sauce! Fries cooked to crispy perfection and slaw was delicious. Guthrie's is a newcomer to Hartwell and a welcome addition. It is housed in the place that used to be the Papa Johns. They keep the menu super simple and focus on a few items. And they do it well. We stopped in today. There was a line but it moved very quickly. We ordered a family bucket. It came with 20 tenders, a bucket of fries and a gallon of tea and their special sauce. It fed five of us and we were very full. The fries were nice and hot. The tenders were full of flavor and the special sauce is really good. We were happy campers. The employees were really friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back. They are going to give Zaxbys some competition. We found the prices at Guthrie's to be lower than at Zaxbys. But there is a place for both since the menu at Guthrie's is very limited. read more

The chicken here was outstanding! Not greasy at all, but tender and tasty. Their dipping sauce was great too; loved it on chicken and fries. Very simple menu; really only two options for adult meals - chicken strips or chicken sandwich. Their menu reminded me of the My Cousin Vinny diner scene with only three options on the menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner). All they do is chicken strips for entrees. Thick fries and coleslaw were okay, not great. Texas toast wasn't very flavorful, but the strip meal is more than enough. Super friendly staff. Only take-out and drive-thru; no inside seating. read more

I made the mistake of going to Popeyes where I was told rather rudely that it would be at least a 30 minute wait for chicken. I decided to go a couple hundred yards down the road to Guthries instead. At Guthries I was greated courteous service and good food! I've been here many times and have always had a wonderful experience! Ps Popeyes, I gave the people at Guthries a large tip. Lol! read more

We have a lot of good fried chicken in Hartwell, but this is my favorite place for chicken fingers and sauce. The sides are good, but the tailgate special (just fingers and sauce) is the way to go. We don't finish it all in one sitting, but it warms up great in the air fryer and they give enough sauce to fill a squeeze bottle. read more

I really hate to leave this review but today as I'm in Guthrie's I was 1st in line. I ordered and moved alone. Few mins later in walks a lady of another race which ordered the same thing I did. This is the real deal original chicken finger dipping sauce place, and their chicken does not disappoint after 55 or so years. They cook your order after it's ordered, so always fresh and hot. As they only sell a chicken plate (you can get a sandwich or individual pieces) they better do it right! And they do. Drive-thru only, and line can be long but moves fast. read more
