Everyone was very nice initially and then they hit a rough patch trying to repair my boat . Then it got ugly ... no return phone calls , Amd ultimately them deciding that they could make more money if they kicked my boat out immediately and just took in someone who just wanted storage . They called me and told me they were " firing me as a customer" and told me to get my non working boat off their property immediately even though they knew I did not have a trailer or a place to bring the boat ... lots of staff anger issues evident every time I went there .. mostly behind the scenes as everyone in the storefront is very pleasant Good luck if you go there for boat repair !! read more

Spent 3 months for them to do a service and bottom paint. Got the boat back my stereo doesn't work called them they acted like they could careless. Bottom paint is fading away in the back because they kept my boat under a tree and whatever they used took paint with it these people are not professional at all would not recommend read more

This marina is on the rise to become one of the best hidden gems of Englewood. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Skip's Marina off of Placida Road has a ton going on! So inside you you can find your typical marina stuff (Bait, Tackle, Rods, Boating Accessories) , but you can also find a cute little Boutique shop inside called Beach Boheme. Ladies you will fall in love their inventory!! Lots of hand-made and beachy apparel and accessories. They have also recently added a Tiki Bar lounge area called The Backyard, down by the docks. Here people can stop by to hangout and have a drink. Plus they have Live Music and different food trucks on site during most weekends. This has quickly become one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat and drink after a long day on the water. We had a wonderful time exploring the Cedar Point area in the kayaks we rented from Skip. The upbeat owner and staff were flexible and friendly. Comfortable, stabile kayaks and decent vests and paddles were supplied. The boats do have holes for buoyancy so be prepared to get a little wet. Not much. They do have a dry storage section in the front of the boat. I would suggest choosing your day carefully. The wind can make for a challenge if you want to paddle over to Stump Pass. We spotted dolphins, eagles, blue heron, and ospreys. The marina is easily found with plenty of all day parking. Launching is super smooth out of their boat launch. My 80 year old mother in law had a blast trying her hand out in the water. Renting from skips is a great family outing that really made our trip. read more
