I went to Key West and when I got home EZ dock had removed my entire dock. We called and asked why and what they were going to do and we were told, "I knew this was going to bite me in the ass!" They had consistently refused to do anything to fix the issue they created. I was going to repair my dock and have 2 estimates to do so. Now there is nothing there to repair.

We hired the company to secure our lift with 4 straps. They secured it with two. I emailed Shanna to ask if there was a problem/reason they didn't do it or if they could come back out to do it. No response from her. Then I called and left a message, no response from her. I received an invoice for 4 straps and responded to the invoice email that I had tried to contact her and needed her to find out why 2 straps instead of 4 and let me know. Here is a word by word email she sent me....and there is more: How in the world do you expect us to make sure the straps were in place when in fact, YOU said they were not??? Could you not see this for yourself rather than wasting time/fuel? That $85 charge is due and if not paid will collect late fees and subsequently be sent to our attorney for collections. You cannot request service calls and not expect to pay for it, especially when it's something you could've seen for yourself. Seriously, what did you expect? I didn't even request a service call. I asked her to call or email me. She never communicated with me that her employees went back to do the job right. I could care a less about a $85 trip charge, it was the fact that I didn't ask her to do it and it seems like she did it just to be a nasty person and rub it in my face. If any of her employees quit please let me know, I'll be your first customer.

Harborside worked several hours on the carburetor and alerted me that someone had attempted to work on it and caused some damage (the previous dealer). Therefore the repair would not be covered under warranty. They way overcharged me and did not fix the issue! They could have replaced the carburetor with a new one for about $35. Instead they opted to work on the damaged original factory carburetor. They are dishonest.

Beautiful area. Marina is in a great location. That is the good. The bad? Very poor management…read more Docks are being worked on but mostly in bad shape. Zincs go twice as fast as normal. Electrical boxes literally falling down. Most have burnt connectors. Water had green algae coming out. Internet only works on the first section of dock and is unsecured. Pump out works sometimes and they hand you the hose. Diesel is cheap, gas is high. Cable T.V. does not work. The pool, bathrooms and laundry closes at 5 p.m. every day. If you still want to go I suggest you walk the docks and talk to the current live a boards and the employees of the boat club on site. Ask them what they think of management. Do yourself a favor and pass them by. 1/2 mile south is Palm Harbour. Go there. They have great facilities and the staff is very helpful and very friendly.

Abel Marine On 4/29/2026 I took my Release Tarpon Bay 17…read moreboat in for a water pump and it was running rough. Wanted a new water pump and figure out what the issue was with rough running condition. Two (2) weeks later I called them to see what progress they had made. Said oh we were going to call you today. She said the lower unit had a grinding noise in it, also added tilt/trim needed to be rebuilt. I asked what about it running rough, said could not find an issue with it. Said it would be a rough Estimate of 4 hours at $170/hr to diagnose lower unit issue. I told them to rebuild the tilt/trim and they didn't have an Estimate for that (my fault for not pressing for an Estimate). Told me a new lower unit would be $3800.00 without labor, I felt that was too much. Told them to reinstall lower unit with no water pump. I picked up the boat 2 weeks later when finished, left my lock on the hitch, asked where the key was said they didn't know. Got boat home, took lower unit off and heard no grinding, cap for input shaft had rust on it which they said entire lower unit was rusted. I purchased a new water pump assembly, new bearing cap. Installed on boat and put new oil in to proper levels. I installed new plugs which were replaced 8 months ago. Lower plug #4 came out real hard. Test ran boat and still ran like crap, rough running again. This is after I paid them $2054.76 for I guess nothing but a rebuilt tilt/trim assembly. I did a compression test on it: cyl: 1= 175psi cyl 2= 165psi cyl 3= 160psi cyl 4= 148psi. I then took it to another Suzuki dealer told them runs rough with the compression numbers I had. Also said noise (grinding) in lower unit. They called 2 days later and said cleaned carbon from motor, had good compression but still ran rough. Said new plugs I installed on cyl 3 & 4 were all rusty. They called Suzuki, Manufacturer told them to take all plugs out, put motor vertical, run water through muffs and look for water. Water was coming out cyl 3 & 4. That ment that the head or block had a crack. It was running on a maximum of 3 cylinders. So, I purchased a new motor. Abel Marine didn't check the engine out, screwed me on diagnosis for lower unit and took me for a ride on the tilt/trim assembly. I will NEVER recommend them to ANYONE !! Why are people not truthful and incompetent?? Guess they thought I was stupid. Lesson learned !!

A HUGH thank you to Chris. He repowered my boat with a 150 E-Tec and I couldn't be happier. His knowledge, skills, and customer service are top notch. He also replaced my hydraulic steering and bilge pumps. His attention to detail is unsurpassed and he will be the man maintaining my new E- Tec. He gave me a quote up front and met that quote while going above and beyond installing my new motor. He also met my timeline. I know I will have many days of boating pleasure and have loads of confidence that if something does go wrong, all I have to do is call Chris. It broke and would not close or open. Keep in mind that I did not buy this boat there because they did not have any at the time that I wanted one and they were pretty hard to get a few months ago. So I called them last Tuesday (Oct 12th 2021) and they told me no problem bring it in next Tuesday and they will get it fixed including parts if need and back to me by Friday. I was thrilled about such a short turn around time given the way things, service, and parts have been going lately. Well here is what happened today Oct 19th. I arrived and they knew I was coming from the appointed I had made. They told me to pull it into the yard. This where things went fantastically! I pulled in and met up with Sean (not sure how he spells it). Sean asked what was going on so I explained it to him. He came over to look at it and said to me "Oh yeah I know what this is". Immediately after looking at he instantly knew what was wrong!! He told me that it is missing a washer under the screw and that the factory used the wrong screw!!! He told me he would fix it for me right now!! He went to get a few tools and I'm serious, had my boat fixed in less that 10 minutes!! He said ok its all good you can take it. I was shocked. I expected it to be down for days. I ran into Steve I think his name is, who is the owner. I raved, rightfully so, about what Sean just did for me. When I asked if I need to do anything or show paper work or anything they said "no, it's all good you can take it" Look I know no place is perfect. Some places drop the ball now and then. But I will tell you one thing, I will never take my jet ski anywhere else for any service that it might need. These guys were fantastic! This is the way to handle a customer or to make more customers. Thank you so much guys for getting me fixed up so fast and for having a mechanic like Sean working for you. He is fantastic! I'll be seeing you for my 50 hour routine maintenance when it is due. Thanks to Steve too!
