I had a few businesses give me quotes but this company was more personable. They had me send photo and gave me an honest and reasonable estimate. They arrived on time and gave me heads up on their ETA. The day of hauling, they walked through the items and told me where they would end up- dump, repurposed, recycled. I gave them more items than I expected since I felt they would repurpose them as opposed to hauling the load to dump. Nice men with good manners and super helpful. I will call them again. Ps. Old TVs cost extra to remove but well worth the additional price. But I would recommend trying Best Buy- they allow one item per household for e-waste but i am not sure about older TVs.

We pulled in & pulled up to the scale where our vehicle was weighed with the scrap. We were directed where to pull in to unload our scrap. I was helping my husband unload the items when two gentlemen employees told me I could wait in the truck while they helped unload. Kudos to these guys. Chivalry is not dead. You drive back on to the scale where you are weighed again without the scrap. They give you a receipt to take to the cashier & you're done. Fair & fast. I definitely recommend this place if you have metal to scrap.

I went to the Southside location. For $90, I disposed of a flat-screen and tube TV. There is a disposal fee per pound on TVs. Like the Visa commercials getting that space back in my home ... priceless. I learned that they also have convenient drop-off at local Guardian storage facilities. So, later the same day I dropped of 2 computer towers, a printer, and a 14 lb black and white (no color really just black and white) laptop (1995 era) to my local Guardian facility. Doesn't matter if your a home owner or a renter, but as long as you are a resident of mercer county you are billed by tri-county industries even if they are not providing service to you on the spot which seems illegal (which it is). After you refuse service or deny any bill that is placed in your mail box they threaten you with an ordinance that exists in mercer county which supports the idea that you must have a trash service provider (not naming tri-county industries). Tri-county Industries is the sole bidder on a waste management contract within the county, but as for the ordinance it does not name tri-county industries in any of such paper work, and does not represent them directly. By knowing they cannot sue you directly for an account that is neither yours or is lawful to begin with means they must knowingly know the county has to step in at some point, but since an unlawful ordinance can be reversed tri-county industries has no real leg to stand on in terms of going after you in any legal manner. There main website has no service termination option, and by calling in you get no real response in terms of ending any such service. That by definition is a shady practice, but that has not stopped them from showing up to your property and just randomly giving you a trash bin and billing you for a service you never signed up for. Tri-County Industries is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We never knew our payment didn't…read morego through in April (Capital One switched from Master Card to Discover) until we got the termination of service notice in the physical mail. Their customer service is only available Monday through friday 8am - 5pm. The online chat is only available this time also. Once we got the notice n May 29th, I immediately updated the card and told them to take my payment - they never did. Two weeks go by and they email me a late charge - I saw red. I attempted the online chat option after work that day, I didn't know they were only available until 5 at this time. I left messages and the next day someone did respond. She reviewed our case, saw the receipts and assured me the payment was processing - it was not. Wednesday, I got an automated call from them as a payment reminder. I exploded. I called at lunch - 15 minute wait time, we'll return your call and you won't lose your place - they never called. Being impatient and not wanting to wait for a call back. I tried the online chat function again during the 8-5 time frame- literally no response in the 4 hours i had the chat window open. In the messages I explained the situation and wanted to know why they still had not taken our payment. We never received notice from them or the bank that there was an issue. So why haven't they taken my payment. Yesterday almost a month after I updated my card and told them to take my payment they finally processed it. Just in time for the next payment to be due. Funny how that works out.
