Something like a salad in the sandwich that had raw crunchy bean sprouts. I actually liked the flavor. When really all that caught my appetite was the ahi. I gotta learn how to make that :-D The seasoned fries it came with were appetizingly crunchy. I asked for wasabi mayo to complete - nice flavor pallettes. I'm surprised for this; it being an airport restaurant. Although when I sat at the bar counter, it hadn't been cleaned off. There was soy sauce on laminated menu. But there weren't too many elbows in my area where I sat. It didn't bother me all too much. Mostly the bar was occupied by men scattered drinking beer. I felt a widdle bit outta place. Terminal B doesn't have a lot of options. As usual, I was rushing through my day to finish work and get to the airport on time. No lines at security left me with time to grab lunch. The server was super nice. Not too crowded so I got to choose my seat. I ordered the Thai peanut chicken salad. Lots of peanut sauce and just a touch of spicy. Super yummy. Sometimes I get on planes for no reason other than I don't want to die standing still. Or sober for that matter. This is why Sky Asian Bistro is like Mecca to me. I am a drunk but I am a traveling drunk so this is my own personal "Cheers." Odd to be a regular at an airport bar but this is my home airport. Connie knows I drink vodka/soda with a splash of grapefruit. Gordon knows I want white tuna thinly sliced. Airport bars & hotel bars are unique in that everyone is on equal footing. You are all f*cked and stuck and you're all leaving in a minute and that makes people generally friendly. You all have the common enemy and that enemy is the airline. Fat, rich, old or ugly. You're all the same at the airport bar. I never used to drink on planes because the idea of drinking without cigarettes was abhorrent to me. Then I quit smoking for a year and started drinking like "Leaving Las Vegas" on every flight. Airport drinking cost prohibitive? Listen up. Your 1 quart bag for liquids will hold ten mini-bottles of liquor. Bring a travel mug in that netted side-pocket of your backpack. Or wherever. Even dead-shit broke you can get a bartender/Burger King/etc to put ice in your mug and if you cant afford a mixer, man up or find a water fountain. You're drinking from the point you get thru security until you run out, fall down or land at a rehab. But I prefer to pay for my drinks at Sky Asian Bistro. Connie always makes me feel like I'm home even though I'm leaving and the white tuna is always great, though Gordon never smiles much. It's okay, he has great hair and when do you ever meet an Asian guy named Gordon? Funny I never knew the name of the place until I asked today. Its just the bar at B gates with the sushi. Aint much at Tucson airport and thats why its the best airport in the country. If there's 8 people in line at security its a busy day. There are 6 hotels in a shorter walk than between gates in most hub airports so sometimes I drink at the airport when I land and then stumble to the Sheraton. I can't believe that there would be a restaurant serving up sushi of this quality in an airport in Tucson Arizona but that's exactly what's here, quality! The restaurant itself is not primarily a sushi bar as it does serve a good variety of classic Asian fusion dishes, and because I was passing through the Tucson Airport and summoned over to the bar by a friendly traveler offering to buy me a drink, of course I wasn't going to pass it up. I had been craving good sushi and my experience in Arizona had been underwhelming at best, but after seeing the fish here, as well as the prices, I couldn't resist going for the sushi. There was a great selection of fish and all of it was very fresh, very similar to a quality sushi experience in California. The most amazing thing was that the prices are very very reasonable! pretty much the same price you would pay at a normal restaurant anywhere else and not an extremely overpriced and underrated level of food that you would expect in an airport. I ordered the nigiri sushi combo which came with 8 pieces of sushi and a California roll for about $19. The cuts of fish were very large and did not have an overabundance of rice, but speaking of the rice, it was probably the best tasting sushi rice I have ever had and I could have eaten the rice alone because it was that good. I typically don't order California rolls but because it came with the combo I took it and I have to say it was freshest and best tasting California roll I have had in a very long time. Other specialty rolls such as black dragon and others are loaded with ingredients and fish and cost between $10-13 which is very fair in my opinion based on the quality and size of the rolls. The restaurant also has a full bar that serves mixed cocktails, craft beers on tap, wine, and sake! The staff are fun and friendly and love to chat. It's the perfect place to wait for your flight or spend time during a layover in Tucson. I will be back here next time I am passing though! read more

I'm always on tne lookout for a good burger. Imagine my surprise to find one in an airport bar. Jen, one of the bartenders, recommended the Kobe burger. It came with sauteed mushrooms, Swiss cheese and a wasabi aioli, accompanied by togorashi fries. The burger arrived and they were very chintzy with the aioli.... so I asked for more. No problem. Once I supplemented the dollop of aioli on the burger with some more it turned out to be a really great burger. I dipped some of the spicy, seasoned fries in the aioli... just so it would not go to waste. There are only a couple of dining options in Concourse B of TIA.... but if I end up here again, I'm coming back. read more

Don't eat here unless you love salt. Extra salt and really, really salty food. The service was terrible. One bar tender and one waitress just standing behind the counter gossiping and another waitress that is sleeping with a manager. The overall quality of the food was so far below poor there is no negative rating possible. It was over priced. Stay with the Japanese food here. I ordered the Tekka Roll (Tuna Roll), and it was excellent! The beef and broccoli on the other hand looked great but tasted like a kid haphazardly made it while blindfolded with a slew of ingredients. It was hot and cold in different parts of the dish. Salt was dumped into the dish and towards the end, no amount of rice or even water could wash out the taste. I was already pretty full from the sushi roll anyway. Regardless, an Asian restaurant to be in an airport is definitely inviting! Service was good and if I had known my flight would be delayed, I would've sent back the beef and broccoli for something more palatable. read more

In the same place they serve pizza from carmellas kitchen The service is very slow and unprofessional! The lady who took my order is the same women who did my thin crust pizza. Although the pizza was good ( would love it more if it have had less cheese ), but i felt bad watching her hold a pen , the counters, and the door with her cloves on which should be resembling having the food surved clean rather than keeping her hands clean ! We arrived 40 minutes before our boarding time and thought it was plenty of time to grab a drink and an appetizer. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before someone took our drink and food order. We ordered the Tucson mule and Prickly Pear Margarita with an order of Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Our drinks took an additional 15 minutes to come to our table. Ten minutes went by and we flagged our waiter down to cancel our food order because we would be boarding soon. He insisted our food was ready in a few minutes and said he'd box it up. I've eaten here a few times for breakfast and highly recommend their omelet especially with broccoli added to it! My star rating is based on those experiences. Breakfast service ends at 10 am. I'm from Seattle and we're a little bit snobbish about our fresh seafood and sushi restaurants. So, ordinarily I would be skeptical about a sushi establishment in Tucson and even more so of one in the airport. But my work colleague who I was traveling with reminded me of airplanes and refrigeration (duh, we're at the airport) and we decided to give this Concourse B sushi bar a try. It was terrific! We had white tuna (had never had it before). It looked like a nondescript slab of lard in the glass case so I was hesitant, but the sushi chef said it was the best so we tried it. It arrived looking beautiful -- and like fish, and was as billed, delicious. The sushi chef is a college student that has been at it 4 years (sushi . . . well, maybe college too), and is proficient and friendly. Really, this is the best airport food experience I've every had (and I travel a LOT). I'm sorry I don't have need to go to Tucson again soon. read more

Would never go back. Slowest service ever paired with terrible, overpriced food earns zero stars. This place must have management issues, severely understaffed. The menu was a lie. I got the ahi wasabi salad. It was a pile of decent greens with a few bean sprouts and shredded carrots soaked in what I can only describe as coleslaw dressing. There was a few pieces of ahi on the side, some of which was pretty grisly. The good looking pieces tasted good--but not good enough to carry this dish. It was gross, I couldn't eat the salad and left hungry.....after sitting there for at least 45 minutes. I wish I'd thought to take a picture of it to document it here. Atmosphere: It's at an airport, what can you say? The sit down portion looked nice. I sat at the sushi bar. Food: Again, it's at an airport. I expected much, much worse. The menu is not nearly as varied as you would normally see at a sushi place, but what they did have was put together nicely, and tasted fresh. I was impressed. The Sky chicken is a very sweet chili sauce that's what you would expect out of a store bought general tso sauce. The chicken came in large chunks with a healthy portion of rice and broccoli. Very tasty. Pricing: Not as high as I expected at an airport. Priced reasonably. Service: The chef talked to me the entire time I sat at the sushi bar. Talked to me about how to make sushi, cuts, and new things to try. Speedy for both the sushi as well as the chinese dish I ordered to go. Overall: Sushi at an airport? Flight out two days ago. Never thought a little sushi bar in that small airport would be that good. It was busy and pack at the sushi bar.I had a red dragon roll and sky roll . The fish was fresh and yummy. The sushi chef was nice and funny. Saw An Asian couples rude to sushi chef just because the sushi chef couldn't make their sushi order in 10 minutes. Poor sushi chef. I feel so sorry for him. I will absolutely go back just because the sushi and the funny sushi chef!!!! read more

As soon as we were seated for an 11AM lunch, we noticed that the restaurant was dirty. The tables were soiled with food; there was dust on the red circles near the televisions; and dust on the dividers between the bar and restaurant. Furniture was as cheap as you can get (saw chips and splinters in the wood). The waiter was the only server and spoke the bare necessities to get your order. The food took forever - and then the server said "we are out of shrimp would you like to order something else"? Thank goodness we had time to kill. The food did not taste Chinese at all. The rice looked old and discolored. The broccoli was barely cooked and I had to ask for a knife with which to cut it. My husband announced that his fried rice was "boring," with pieces of dried-out chicken in it and an overall lack of color and texture. We are a little and left. I had hoped for a regular Chinese restaurant where we could have a glass of wine and relax before a long flight. Unfortunately, that is not possible at this airport's Sky Asian Bistro. read more
