This place gets to me everytime, in a really good way. This place holds conferences for both small…read moreand large get-togethers, as well as private sessions wether it's a couple enjoying a quiet getaway, weddings, well just whatever you may think of; they cater to pretty much any kind of scenario. If you want (or need) to spend the night you can hire their well-equipped cabins for the night (or several). They have a wide range of activities available such as going by hovercraft on the ice, kayaking, fishing, sauna, spa, skiing and snowmobile trips, and much more. I've actually only been here on work-related business, but that doesn't by any means diminish the experience. I've wined, dined, and enjoyed great company with both friends, colleagues and new acquaintancies. Their service and attentiveness isn't flawless by any means, but they make up for it in abundance with sincerety and genuine concern for their guests; it feels more like visiting someone in their home and they really want to make you feel comfortable. The main cabin is wooden magic extraordinare. A genuin log cabin, the woodwork inside is utterly impeccable as well as contempary modern. The whole place just gets under my skin when I'm there. The food is a blend of straight up comfort food with moments of contemporary and flare, particularly the dinners. For lunch the first day we were served souvas with forest mushrooms and bacon, mashed potatoes and lingonberries with a selection of salads. Tasty, creamy, well-seasoned and perfectly balanced. For dinner we started with bread and cheese gratin as an aperitif. Well, truthfully I and a few colleagues actually started ahead of that with a nice glass of something cool and bubbly in the lounge area! The main course was a serving of perfectly seared fillet of lamb, fondant potato, asparagus, carrots and rosemary butter jus. Loved that dish! In the glass I had a red wine, but I don't actually know what sort. It was a good pairing though. For dessert it was a blueberry pie with crispy merengue. However it was way overly sweet. Too much for me, so unfortunately left most of it. The evening continued in the spa with sauna, cool drinks and sitting in the outdoor jacuzzi with the wind howling, snow whirling around your head freezing your hair into spikes. We had such an awesome time!
The breakfast is fairly standard, but all well-prepared and tasty. The eggs were too hardboiled, but otherwise nothing to point a finger at. I personally love the fresh fruits. The last lunch (this time around) was a seafood and fish dish that was both well-seasoned and fresh on the palate. All in all, I keep coming back to Brändö when I have the chance because it's just that serene, relaxing, rewarding and beautiful.
