I spent a few months trying to figure out a real problem. A residence with a flat roof Now, we're not talking just a little grade, so it'll eventually drain. We're talking dead flat here. It puddles for days. That makes me nervous, to say the least, and when the roof started to leak a little over the garage, I looked into building in a little slope, using a foam block process to do same (pricey!), redoing the roof conventionally, doing a rubber membrane roof as if it were a commercial property, or sealing it with a product like silicone, or foam, to make it a monolithic structure. After a lot of research on the net, and calling a couple of manufacturers, I went with silicone: this way, I don't have to worry about the roof for another 10-20 years. Sky Light Roofing is the company in our area that has done the additional training to apply this product- and I went with them. (Although he does conventional roofs too). It's a pressure washing/cleaning, priming, and applying process that takes care do make sure it's done exactly right. When the process was done, Juan had kept my renter totally satisfied, cleaned up every day, was knowledgeable, polite, and honored the date he said he'd show up(rain prevents them from applying this, so we had only one delay). His company is simply top notch. I give out few five stars, but, honestly, unless he did this roof for free, I can't think of any way he could improve! read more

They completed my roof in ONE day!! Amazing! I have a 2 storey house with 4 bedrooms and a roof that has many different angles and steepness. The roofers were incredibly hard working and arrived before sun up yesterday (Fri 7th Feb 2025) and we're still working clearing up after sunset! They did a great job. The hardest working guys I've ever come across. Kudos to them and they did it in Florida with temperatures above 80F. They had dropped off the materials and skip the day before they started work. Skylight roofing was amazing! We got three different quotes from different roofers and skylight roofing gave us the best price and the best warranty. We also had a skylight that needed to be replaced and they included that as well. Rick was so informative and very professional when he came over to give me a quote. He was honest and answered all my questions and concerns. Going forward, the process went extremely smooth. We had a deadline to meet because our insurance policy was being renewed soon and we needed the new roof first. They got the permits to do the roof in 5 days and started the following Tuesday. They did our whole 2100 sqft home in a single day. They were effienct and productive. The roof looks amazing! Before contract this company, don't sign nothing and compare the estimated with two or three diferent company at least. Skylight Roofing charge me almost the doubble amount compare with other two good company and the same shingle material. I couldn't do nothing because I had signed and was too late to change my mind. I gave to Skylight Roofing a check for $14,000.00 thousands that my insurance company give me to change the roof but Skylight Roofing never began to work because I din't have the deductible ready, but they got that check already to begin and other company gave me an estimated for change the whole roof for $15,000.00 but Skylight Roofing asked for $27,000.00. I would not recommend, there were fast took down old roof and put up new in 2 days. Sloopy work, roofing nails were left everywhere. We had solar panel for hot water they could not figure out how to take down and put up, ended up short circuiting my hot hot water water which I had to replace. The sales rep said they would work with the insurance company and there would be no other cost but the deductible. Than after the job they tried to get me to pay an extra $800.00 for so called wood replacement, never talked to supervisor, never seen pics til 4 months later....should have been notified. I was referred to Skylight roofing by another real estate brokerage. We needed to get a quote for replacing a few damaged roof tiles prior to closing. I called Skylight on Monday 1/11/21. They were very nice and scheduled an inspection for Tuesday 1/12/21 between 9-10am. I was advised that it would be 24-48 hours after the inspection for the quote. Great no problem. I called 24 hours later and was told it would only be after 48 hours. Okay great. I called back after 48 hours and was told sorry we still don't have it. She spoke with the estimator and he was working on the estimate at 10:00 am on Friday 1/15/21 and would have it to me in an hour. I finally called Friday 1/15/21 at 3:00 pm in last resort to get this estimate and was told again by the receptionist that there is nothing she can do. She contact the owner and he was not available. This company sent out an employee to my property and did a complete inspection. Then they dropped the ball with sending out an email estimate costing them the job and ruining their reputation with our company as well as the broker who referred them. What a shame. I will never use this company again or refer them to anyone. read more

We hired Skylight Roofing in November 2021 to replace our Roof. Their Rep came out to our house and we explained and showed him that we had a major leak in our Dining Room and this was the reason we were going to spend 14,000.00 on a new roof. The Rep assured us that the new roof would take care of this problem. In January of 2022, we had a heavy rain and the water came through our Dining room once again. We called SkyLight and asked them to come out and address this issue. They sent someone out to access the damage and they would get back to us. A few days later, we received a call telling us that this was not their problem to fix and that there was a possibility that the water was coming in from our Fireplace Chimney and if we wanted them to fix it, there would be a $4,300 charge. We had many Roofing companies give us estimates but we had the trust and confidence in SkyLight that they would do a good job in replacing our roof. If they were as thorough and knowledgeable as they claimed to be, then when they came out to give us our estimate, then it would and should have been their responsibiity to inform us there were other issues that could be causing the leak in the Dining Room and we would have been given the opportunity to decide whether we should go ahead and spend $14,000.00 on a new roof at this time. Our Rep was clearly only interested in us signing on the dotted line to finalize the new roof. We definitely would not recommend Skylight Roofing to fix anyone's roof. Terry G. read more

During Hurricane Ian, we lost one shingle. A cap at the very end of one portion of a gable. It took repeated calls but finally, a response. An individual came out and inspected the roof and stated that the roof is in "great shape" with the exception of one missing shingle. The individual stated he would get a quote for the repair. A week later I had to text and remind the individual and a call from the office was answered. The quote was 950.00 to repair one shingle. I was shocked. I used Sky Light after Irma and had some missing shingles and a few caps missing from what I was told. They charged me 750.00 at the time. Now it's 950.00 for one shingle? Needless to say that I dropped them and will not do business with them in the future. BTW, I was told that that quote came from the owner. Shout out to Peet Roofing for taking care of it and saving me 950.00 in the process. My business now goes to Peet Roofing! #Pricegouging read more

This is the most unprofessional company. The Owner, Juan, will never return calls because he know his company screwed up my roof. He tried to blame a new leak on stucco cracks. After visits from a Mason, Master Craftsman and another roofer who all blame it on the crappy roofing job done by Sky Lite Roofing! I contacted Sky Light Roofing when I needed a couple areas of my roof fixed, and I would honestly never recommend them after the experience I had. They were quick to schedule someone to come out to view the damage, however, the person they sent out didn't speak a word of English, so the guy had to call someone who spoke English because he couldn't communicate with my husband. Also, he showed up to VIEW ROOF DAMAGE with NO LADDER! Seriously?! No ladder?! About a week later, we still hadn't received the estimate so I contacted the owner and he said he would get with the office and have it emailed over to me--never received an email or another phone call from them. A couple weeks later, my husband reached out to them, to which they couldn't even locate an estimate for our address and promised they would look into it and call us back--no word from them again. Two more phone calls later, both times, they said they would email the estimate and we never received it. This was over 2 months ago now and we still haven't received anything from this company. I don't care how good of a job they might do on a roof repair, the lack of communication is terrible and would never use or recommend them based on that. read more

At the recommendation of a friend, we called Sky Light about a roof replacement in 2016, and they said they would send someone to do an inspection, set up an insurance claim, and update us regarding the status of that claim. One day after another, they never called on the dates they said they would, and if we ever contacted them ourselves, the lady who picked up (assuming she picked up) would have no idea what was going on, and would give a generic answer such as "we're still waiting." This went on for at least three months. Finally, I volunteered to call the insurance company myself, since one of Sky Light's excuses was that they were waiting for an answer on the claim, only to be told that Sky Light NEVER FILED A CLAIM. I asked multiple times to make sure, and the adjuster confirmed that the only claim on the house was one we had put in ourselves. I called Sky Light back and asked to speak to Juan, the owner of the company, and he assured me that he would check in on the matter personally. He, of course, never called back. A year went by, and our roof still needed replacing, so seeing that Sky Light seemed to have good reviews while we were searching, we thought that we would try them again, especially since we weren't even going to go through the insurance this time. We called a week ago and they gave us an appointment for Wednesday, September 27th. Since we had another roofing inspection set up that same date, we called Sky Light the day before (Tuesday) to verify what time they would be coming so that the two appointments didn't overlap. The woman who took my call told me that my appointment DIDN'T EXIST. I asked her to try searching again using different information, such as the address. Still, it wasn't in their records. Best of all, when I asked if there was any other way to look it up, and she told me to "wait," and "be nice." I never even raised my voice, so I asked what she meant, and she told me that I was rude. I can't imagine how they are during or after the job if this is how they treat customers who haven't even paid them. So, if you're interested in the most unprofessional customer service and dysfunctional overall service, I highly recommend this company. Good job on the roof. Horrible job re installing the gutters! Now I have to hire someone to try to straighten them up so that they are level or horizontal with the ground. They dip forward so you can see into the gutters which is incorrect. Either that or have them totally redone. read more

We had our roof replaced June 2018 and everything went smooth. It took them a few weeks to get to our roof because it was raining nonstop literally everyday but you can't control the weather, so that's understandable. Good communication, roof done quickly and well done (they even took pictures of everything that was done and emailed it to me), and cleaned up well after the job.
