After going to Sky Nails for over 5 years, I'm extremely disappointed. I always get the same acrylic nails with a solid color, yet the price changes every time--and they're expensive. The nails never last; I'm lucky if they hold up for a week. Every visit, there's a new nail tech, and this time my nails look terrible. I've given them plenty of chances, but this was the last straw. I'm very disappointed and confused. My fiancé, his daughter, and I have been to this salon multiple times, and each time, I've enjoyed both my nails and the overall experience. However, I've noticed they may selectively choose which customers to serve, which hasn't been an issue for me--until today. I was in a rush, and my mother needed a manicure and pedicure, so naturally, I chose this salon. During my mom's appointment, I decided I would also get my eyebrows waxed. I informed the staff, and although they acknowledged my request, no one came to service me. I assumed they were waiting for the person who handles waxing. Later, my mom asked if I was still getting my eyebrows done, but at that point, I replied "never mind" and went to sit in the car. To my shock, the technician doing my mom's nails mentioned that they were prejudiced against me because of my skin color, saying I was "too dark." When my mom asked why they were servicing her, they replied that it was because she was light-skinned. My mother was so upset by this blatant discrimination that she left without getting her eyebrows done either. It's truly disheartening to experience this kind of treatment, especially in 2024. I will be telling everyone I know about this, as it's clear they don't welcome dark-skinned people. I've lived in Hammond the last 4 years and this is the first..smh read more

She's so thorough and really pampers you. She suggested which type of pedi I should get along with which scent and I have 0 regrets. I highly recommend asking for her when making an appointment. I've been to Sky Nails before and never had an experience like today! Not only did they rush my pedicure and left wax on my feet the nail tech said it'll be an extra $15 to paint a CURVE MY FRENCH TIP! Once again she said an EXTRA $15 paint a CURVE on MY FRENCH TIP! Which I received a curved French tip at my last appointment and there wasn't an extra charge. I just told her to paint the whole nail. The lady in the 1st chair with the blue shirt was also rough and rude. She kept drilling my skin and once I said something she brushed it off as if it was funny. After that incident she proceeded to be even rougher the second time around which prompted me to ask if I needed to get someone else to complete my services. When entering I stated that, " I needed a pedi and full set for myself then gel polish for my daughter". Several people asked Me once again what I needed in which I responded with the statement above. During my appointment I kept asking who would start my daughter's services and it took two hrs before someone remembered that she also needed her nails done. My people of color, this place isn't for you. they weren't very friendly and made me and my family uncomfortable. A few of the lady's seem to be talking about us and one of the guys were rushing us. My daughter and I got our nails done as a walk in. Some places have switched to appointments only because of COVID. She had the little princess treatment with regular polish. I got a full set and a pedi. Everything was great. Friendly staff. They had shields up between nail techs and customers at each station. Chairs were getting disinfected. Do Not go to sky nails and spa in Hammond I went for my birthday to get a mani and pedi with gel polish. I called before hand for prices I was told $50 for pedicure with gel and $40 for manicure with gel polish. I got there and was sat with Helen for my pedicure i chose the $40 basic pedicure with the blue gel polish. Helen rushed through my pedicure so much so that I finished before the two lady's beside me and the were there way before I was. When she finished my polish on my two big toes I could still see my nail through the gel paint and when I asked if she could please fix it she walked away and started talking about me with the other techs saying that I chose a newer color that it was my fault you could see my nails through the polish when my other 8 toes are completely covered and you can't see through the polish. The owner sent another lady to fix my two toes and when finished there is gel polish all over my skin. I then sat down to get my manicure done and I told her just shape up my nails don't use polish. She then cut two of my fingers making me bleed all while Helen walks around complaining about me. When I got to the register to pay I asked how much do I owe and the owner tells me $85 I looked at him and asked how is that possible I got the $40 pedicure with gel and a shaping without polish as my manicure he told me it was $40 pedicure the gel polish on my toes was $20 and the manicure was $25 and because it was my birthday he would take off $5. The owner knew how upset I was the whole time absolutely ridiculous experience and WILL NOT be back!!!!!!! So if you choose to go here you will leave bleeding polish all over your skin and you will pay for THEIR mistakes while they talk about you the whole time !!!!! read more

I was a first time customer at Sky Nails on 11/25/2020. The place was not too busy, and I definitely appreciated that they were taking precautions (requiring masks, social distancing, etc) to keep staff and customers safe. Inside was nice and neat and the two nail techs that worked on me were friendly. Now, my actual nails were terrible! I had gel polish on my acrylic nails and also my toes. Before I could get home, the gel was peeling. That has NEVER happened to me. I gave them a call on 11/30/2020 to express my disappointment. I was told to come in to have this fixed. They kept their word and fixed the nails without additional charge; however, it was the same issue even after sitting under the light for extended time as told. I am very big on self care, and my nails are a huge part of that. This was time and $100 wasted. Needless to say, I will try another location for my next mani/pedi. read more

to start, i have been coming to sky nails for 2 years now. when i first started coming, it was great!! i loved the nails, the service and the prices. but now, i have been met with some really rude workers who obviously just want to get their job done. i went to get my nails done, and like i said i've been going there forever so i know most of their dip colors!! i asked for a certain color and was showed 3 colors that were completely different then what i wanted. i asked if i could see some different colors and she said "no". which threw me completely off guard and very much annoyed me. i saw a color more similar to what i wanted and pointed it out. she stood up and went to get it completely ignoring the fact that i was explaining to her that i wanted that color a little darker (which i know they have, i have seen the dip colors many times!!!!). i kept my mouth shut because i wanted chrome on top so i thought it would look better after that.. i told her before getting my nails done i wanted the chrome and even showed a reference picture for the color and it had chrome on it. when she was almost done, i noticed it didn't seem like she remembered the chrome so i mentioned it. she said "whaat today?"... which annoyed me even further considering i told her and showed her beforehand. she seemed very aggravated the whole time and had an attitude despite my many attempts to be nice to her. i am now debating going back because this seems to be the case the last few times i've come. read more
