This time, it didn't even last five days before it started chipping (I went in on last Friday and they were already chipped by this Wednesday), which was pretty disappointing. I've been going here for a few months to the same nail tech. I picked the color I wanted by showing her the plastic nail swatch, so that she sees the code for the shade I'm choosing. As she is applying the powder/dip I start to notice that it is not the shade I picked and I say something. She tells me I told her the number she is applying, but I didn't tell her, I showed her the shade with the number on it. I then reach for the swatches and show her the nude color I picked and she tells me I told her the number that she is putting on my nails. I noticed the numbers are very similar, the colors are not, hence the reason for always showing the swatch with the number on it! Clearly, it was her mistake, but she didn't admit it. Instead, she blames the mistake on me, and tells me I can have the color I want next time. I usually come in every 2 to 3 weeks. I always tip well and even tipped her double at Christmas time. When I go to check out/pay she says something to the owner and she says charge her $43 and she then tells me to pay $43. I always get charged $38. So, on top of getting the wrong nail color and less product, because the dip she applied was only 2 coats, normally I have the dip that is 3 coats, she charges me $5 extra for less product and the wrong color. I still tipped her, whereas I should not have tipped at all. I felt like they should have at least given me a discount. I won't be going back ever again. read more

I went in with a friend to get my nails done before a wedding, and did not find the nails up to par. I usually go a different shop but was willing to give this place a try due to the great reviews! Unfortunately, I should not have. I asked for an acrylic coffin cut with gel on top, which is what I usually get, but the lady who did mine clearly hasn't done a lot of coffin cuts. Some of my nails came out rounded, some flat, none of them looked uniform in shape, some were much longer than others, the gel was put on in a rush and came out bumpy and my thumb was cut at a slant and barley fixed. They were very busy on this particular day so I would understand a certain margin of error, however the lady who did my nails was so focused on getting them done and moving onto the next person, she did not care about the work she was doing on my fingers, which I find absurd as I spent nearly $50 getting them done. Not to mention, 2 of my nails fell completely off within the week which I've never experienced before. Luckily for my friend who I went with, she had an exceedingly different experience. She was fortunate enough to get the owner of the shop doing her nails, and all of her coffin cut acrylics came out a uniform shape, smooth polish on top, and all the same length at the end. Her lovely experience is the reason I'm giving 2 stars, and can only suggest that if you were to make an appointment or walk in, insist that the owner does your nails as she's the only one who seemed to take pride in her work on that day. I've been here several times. The result is typically decent, but the experience isn't. Every time I've come, I'm early. Every time they start me about 20 minutes late. This last time I was told to go sit at station 2 - Ron. He'd just finished with a client. I sat down and I watched him walk to the back of the salon and he didn't come back for over 15 minutes. When he finally came back, he stunk of cigarette smoke. He clearly has been smoking while I was waiting. The smell was terrible and so over powering. This is the second time this has happened. I came to Sky Nails for the first time last week and I loved my gel manicure by Kevin. He shaped my nails exactly how I wanted and made sure they were to my liking. I also liked that the nail technicians don't chat a lot between themselves and the music is really relaxing. There is no loud tv in the background and you can enjoy a nice chair massage if you are getting a pedi. This is actually a pretty relaxing place for not truly being a "spa". I used to be a loyal customer to Cherry Nails in Rocklin. However, they recently increased the price of pedicures to over $25 and they took away the hot rocks. I was in the market for a new salon and I am happy to say I will continue to return to Sky Nails! I got a mani-pedi (non-gel) last week and my nails still look great. My manicurist did a perfect job on getting the square shape I like for my nails. I was greeted by a really friendly lady (I think her name was Kelsey) when I entered the salon; the rest of the staff was also very pleasant. This place is amazing! Bet nail salon I've ever been to! They sanitize and clean everything very well, even the foot bath bowls after each use. They also use sterile equipment from packaging for each client. When something drops on the floor, I've seen them spray it with sanitizer. Each person wears gloves too! Ok and that's not all! Sky Nails and its sister salon, Ocean Nails, are my two favorite nail salons in the area. In fact, they are the only two salons I will go to now. Both salons are very clean, the decor is inviting and they have lots of services and color options to chose from. I get my powder nails done by one of the two owners (Mi at Ocean or Tony at Sky) and both of them do such a great job and can do any crazy decoration you want. I just recently got a pedicure at Sky and the standard spa pedicure included a leg scrub, a long lotion massage and a hot stone massage - score! If you are a fan of the gel manicures and pedicures, like I am, this salon has the largest variety of colors I have seen, including glitter options. Well my sister and I haven't got our nails done since the whole covid thing started so when we called this nail salon for an appointment we were SO EXCITED they were open. They scheduled our appointment for 4:45pm and we were driving an hour to the salon. About 4:25 we got a phone call asking when we would be there and as we're driving we tell the lady we would be there in 20 minutes. She proceeds to tell us our appointment was at 3:45 (why would she call us almost an hour later if we were a no show?) and then states she only has time for one of us because she has an appointment at 4:45. WE HAD A 4:45pm APPOINTMENT and I'm sure they double booked or something. We ended up just driving back home. It was a horrible experience. The nail work looks pretty good online but they really need to manage their time better and make sure not to over book clients especially during times right now. I won't even try to come here again. Instead I'll make an appointment somewhere else and have assurance I'll actually be able to go to my appointment. read more

Made an appointment the previous day and went with my friend. We both got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I had the gentleman (didn't catch his name) do both my services. He did what I asked which is great because the last few times we've gone to other places they talk us out of what we want or just do what they feel like! The pedi was very relaxing and we enjoyed the scrub and mask which we got to choose. Edges are a bit sharp on my nails but easy fix. He said there was a 10 day guarantee which I appreciated. My friend liked the pedicure done by the owner and another younger girl did her nails. The younger girl was very friendly and sparked up conversation. The owner was nice, straight to the point not a lot of conversation which would've made our experience more personable. I usually wear gel 2-3 weeks and about 9 days it started lifting and peeling. May or may not go back...Prices are good and it's right down the street from where we live. read more
