As a result of a back injury, trimming up the undercarriage has become a bit of a challenge for me, so I decided to try something new and got all of the hairy parts that are typically covered by clothing waxed off. This was my first time ever being waxed, so walking in, I was scared out of my mind, and not just because of the potential pain. I'm typically very shy and modest to the point that I don't even take my shirt off at the beach anymore, so taking everything below the waist off for someone I had just met was well outside of my comfort zone & it took every bit of power I had to follow through with getting this done. Despite her being all up in my business, Nancy quickly put me at ease. Although there was some pain, it wasn't nearly as bad as what I had built myself up to believing it would be like. Perhaps the lack of pain was solely related to Nancy's waxing technique, but she also kept an engaging conversation going the entire time which was distracting enough that I didn't really think about what she was doing or where she was touching. The 90 or so minutes it took to get it all done went by surprisingly fast and in a strange way I almost didn't want it to stop because I was just enjoying talking with her and I don't think I could have asked for anyone better. I'm not sure at this point if I will become a lifetime waxer or not due to my personal skin sensitivity, but I'm still under 24 hours post wax and following all of Nancy's recommendations to help things heal up. So far her recommendations to help put the fire out are helping tremendously and I can live with a few red bumps for a couple of days...it's not like shaving has never caused this problem before. Assuming all of this clears up within a few days, I think it will be well worth it to return every 4-5 weeks vs spending an hour or so trimming several times a week. Highly recommend coming to see Nancy for any guys out there wanting to try waxing. She does it all and she doesn't make you feel weird about it! Thank you Nancy! read more

LOVED my Brazilian wax with Nancy. She is an open book and literally makes a painful task as painless as possible. She is very matter of fact and doesn't make you feel weird at all when you're in her space and on her table. I came for Brazilian wax service and she did such a thorough job making sure everything was clean (she even handpicked all the leftovers and double checked everything again). She can hold a conversation during the whole procedure so I wouldn't feel any pain and makes the process less nerve racking. In addition, she doesn't make the procedure awkward! I've followed Nancy since her departure from Wax Away, and I must say I was quite impressed with her new location since the move. Her new room is much more spacious, comfortable, and clean. She operates out of a room at La Petite Rose Spa, so the environment is very relaxing and very welcoming. Nancy is still as sweet and accommodating as ever. I've never had a problem scheduling appointments with her, and she can easily communicate via text messaging! I always come to her for a Brazilian, and even though I've been tempted by other places offering specials prices and what not, I trust my lady parts only to Nancy. She's very thorough with her work. She never double dips. She goes in with tweezers afterwards to remove any strays or ingrowns. This woman knows her stuff! The conversation helps keep your mind off the pain, and she makes the experience as pleasant as possible (you are getting your lady parts waxed of course...)
