Almost missed this place as when we checked on map, we assumed it was a drive in theatre. But so glad we made it here rather than a US fast food chain nearby. Any day support local owned businesses. Kids had cheesy fries - good fries and fairly good cheese sauce, didn't taste CheezWiz. Mac and Cheese wedges. Again fairly good and freshly fried to order. The Spicy Fries (were vegan/plant based) - were coated and not spicy to us. Even a spice averse person with us could easily handle it. The quantity good and again fried to order so they came out piping hot. The Non Dairy / Vegan Sea Salt Caramel Coffee regular hard ice cream was very good. So glad SRDI keeps and the local dairy makes a vegan version. Made this vegan very happy. Kids took quite a few pictures of the playground, large muskoka chair, the small plane, mini golf ($). Picnic benches were perfect for a warm spring day. Definitely visiting again if in Goderich area. read more

If you're a local (or a seasonal local) to the area then you already know this is the best walk-up burger and ice cream joint around. It's a blink and you'll miss it type of place but it's easy to find right off the highway and has plenty of parking out front. Open only during the summer months and worth the wait in line (there usually is one), it's pure nostalgia at its finest. The retro sign, the walk-up order window, the giant play area for the kids. It's easy to see why this place has been a beloved part of the community for 50+ years. The food is delicious and consists of mostly fast food style burgers, hot dogs and deep fried favorites. They have a large selection of ice cream, both hard (Shaw's) and soft, and the biggest decision you'll be making is which flavour to get as they have a ton to choose from. My recos: - Ranchburger (comes w/ ham) - Mac and cheese wedges w/ ranch (my mom's fav) - Fries w/ ketchup & mayo - Banana milkshake - Soft serve: coconut or banana - Sundaes: blueberry or strawberry All in all, it's a nice place to check out with lots of tables to eat outside and the big open sky is great for watching sunsets. 24 kinds of soft serve. Does this even need a review? ;) Kidding! Everyone except me was getting a delicious treat, so it must be good! There are a few tables with umbrellas beside the building, so you can enjoy your ice cream and food. I picked up a fish sandwich and a side order of onion rings. Service was friendly and the food was made fresh, so it took a little time. While I waited, they served ice cream cone after ice cream cone! I was so jealous!! Will definitely stop in again when I'm in the area! read more

We stopped in for a burger. Staff was very polite and we ordered the ranch burger. While the meat was nothing exciting, the meal was lovely and hot. The fries were down the way I like them - some were crispy and they were all hot! We waited for our order at the outdoor tables; we weren't expecting the tables to be immaculate but a recent wipe would be have been appreciated. My only regret was that we didn't have room for an ice cream Guess we have to go back again! read more

This was very disappointing. My partners ice cream plopped off into his hand after the first lick as it was so melted. The staff handed him a container to plunk it into but did not offer to grab a cloth or damp paper towel to clean up with. My hot fudge sundae was melted also which I could have dealt with but the fudge was HARD CHUNKS and chewy in places and had about a third the amount of topping as last year. I guess it was very old. we have been there a few times now and have never been disappointed, friendly service, fresh hot food, awesome ice cream. I had a deluxe brownie sundae, it was so good, big chunks of brownies, lots of chocolate and caramel sauces. we have had the hot dog and burgers with fries and onion rings, food was very hot but they need more boxes and or bags to carry stuff in, but other than that it was so awesome. Friendly quick service, lots of parking and picnic tables, every time we drive past it is always busy so arrive early. keep up the awesome job guys. read more
