THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME!!!! Came here with a college ministry group and did not expect for them to have so much to do. We went in February so unfortunately we could not do any of the water sports. however, the things we could do were great. Zip lining, giant swing, ropes course, archery, games, a giant maze, everything. I definitely have to go back during the summer so I can experience the blob and canoeing. The camp site was very clean and even though we were in the middle of the woods we felt safe. The cabins we stayed in were pretty average. Bunk beds, 2 showers and 3 toilet stalls; also kept clean. The workers who were over the activities were very enthusiastic and fun. The food was DELICIOUS! Again, I unfortunately was not able to experience the breakfast but the lunch was off the chain! All of the meals I did try had me hankering for more. The cafeteria was spacious and nice. They have a nice main building great for conventions and classes and other things. They also have free wifi in the main building. Next to that is a gym that offers sports equipment and games. Really the only gripe about this place is how hard it is to find at night. They need some lit signs or something because we got lost going in. Other than that, everything was perfect. The cabins are great, amenities are great and the site is clean and pretty. Definitely come stay here!

The best camp for school groups, retreats, and summer camp! They are intentional, relational, and gospel centered.

Cleans and fun. We took our fifth graders recently and had a blast. I recommend going here to…read moreschool or church camp. And the food was outstanding. Just wish they didn't serve so much so food because it all gets wasted.

Honest review of Camp Allaso: Cabins were fine, comfortable…read moreenough. Bathrooms, need attention, we had a huge glob of hair from the previous campers on our shower wall, that was enough to gross anyone out. The bathroom also did not smell clean, they need to be disinfected. Food: Disgusting, the eggs appeared to either be made from a box or previously made and just reheated. All of the other food is meant for 5 year old children (chicken nuggets and pizza), not kids getting ready to go into Junior High School and parents that have been physically working all day. We also had several children with special cultural diets, however the camp completely ignored it. One child had to eat a hamburger bun with nothing in it. Again this child's parent paid over $300 for 2 nights, no excuse. For Over $300 for 2 nights, the food needs to be better. This is unacceptable. Activities for the children: Kevin, Mike and Rachel were the absolute best, they clearly love children and enjoy their jobs. Several of the other instructors were burnt out and had very little patience (and clearly didn't enjoy children). Pat, the person that speaks on stage, needs a vacation. She is a GRUMP off of the stage. She is forgetting the people visiting are PAYING guests, which is how this place stays open. Most of the staff here expects for the Chaperones to do the heavy lifting. Truly, they provide the infrastructure, but the chaperones do the work. They will ask you to put their supplies away etc..

I had the pleasure growing up going to Pine Cove camps my entire life. My grandmother was a cook…read morehere for over 35 years before she retired and they're so good to our family. I've been going to the camps since I was in about 5 years old. The towers was my first experience away from home overnight but I learned so much there met the Lord on a personal level and carried that throughout my life a relationship with him. I learned how to fish and archery, zipline canoe, sail, kayak, rock climbing and most importantly horsemanship one and two classes helped me build a relationship with the animals that I love so much. I just turned 40 this year and looking back over my childhood these were the best days of my childhood life I would never forget it and I will always suggest allowing your kid to go experience something like this. This does not mention the counselors in the level that they're on with the children is amazing, college students just loving on us kids you know living in an environment that they didn't have to be in but chose to be there for us is amazing

Summer camp is an experience that I believe every kid should get to experience. I am lucky enough…read moreto have been able to do things like this since I was a kid. I think it played a huge part in me becoming an educator. During my observation this semester, my group of fifth graders invited me to their end of year camping trip. I was very excited about it and for good reason. I went to Pine Cove for a ropes course when I was about 13 and I knew immediately how much fun they were in for. Pine Cove operates on a mass level. They are a Christian based camp that has 8 different camps operating in the US. 6 camp sites are in Tyler, TX and 2 others are near Columbus, TX. The camp isn't slap you over the head with the new testament and try to convert you into my beliefs kind of a camp, rather, it's lets you experience God's beauty in it's natural form. Since I came with a public school, the Christian aspect (i.e. bible studies and quiet time) were not a part of activities. But I would have loved to take part in that with the camp counselors who seem to have amazing relationships and great appreciation for what they do! Since they offer women's retreats, couples retreats and day camps for youth....I'm sure that I will be getting to experience that aspect soon because I will defiantly be going back! Pine Cove offers a vast number of activities for youth of all ages to participate in. Their website offers adult retreats and conferences for all ages as well. The staff is wonderful with kids, literally amazing!! I didn't realize how much of an outdoors girl I was until was canoeing with my group of gals and didn't want to get out of the canoe! They feed you amazingly well, which, back in my day of camp, sloppy joes were the norm!, we got to eat BBQ baked potatoes and fajitas! Kids these days have it so good! Between the lovely set up with the cabins and the vast property that they have, you won't miss home too much! As a future teacher, this is definitely something I am keeping in mind as field trips and team building are being brought up!
