Overall great hospital here at HCA. The cafeteria food is actually really good if you're just there visiting for a patient or ordering patient food. Breakfast burritos are actually good. Ask for fresh eggs! Had surgery and the pacu nurses were not very kind, otherwise all the other staff were great during stay. read more

My husband was in a cycling accident considered Trauma and was admitted to the ICU due to 8 rear broken ribs and 5 front broken ribs, a bruised lung and air in his chest then moved to Trauma orthopedic from ICU was on oxy for Pain, released today and doctors did not have oxy only Tylenol and Motrin and a muscle relaxer, on his discharge paperwork I said he has been taking 10 mg in ICU the floor nurse did no ask him what he wanted and just started giving him 5 mg on her own, said I wasn't taking him home unless he had oxy the said it would be called into my pharmacy before we arrived, got to pharmacy no oxy just the stuff I could have gotten over the counter and a muscle relaxer, finally got an oxy order enough for if given the correct 10 mg dose might last til Monday, have called hospital multiple times and got treated horrible gave them my number for the doctor to call me nothing for hours. He was not giving even a bedside bath, he had cycled 40 miles before his accident, I just showered him at home with the low dose OXY he was in extreme pain. Avoid this hospital at all costs from a retired nurse. They need to improve everything about this hospital if I could have given a 0 I would have. read more

We arrived around 7:55 am and pulled into valet. He was friendly and polite. We were greeted when we entered the hospital. They got me checked in for my surgery. Once I was done Mrs. Tina walked me over to the surgery waiting area and Mrs. Dense let them know I was ready. I waited maybe about 15 mins before Sarah came and got me. She took my vitals and got me situated for the surgery . Dr. Chae came and let me know we would start around 10:30am. He is always upbeat and chipper. The anesthesiologist Dr. Weddle came in and explained what she was going to be doing durning surgery. She was very explanatory and nice. Her assistant came in and let me know what she will be doing as well. She was nice and friendly. They set me up with the prep... meaning they had already put some of the anesthesia in my IV so I felt myself fading. I woke up in recovery and the nurse I had was so nice and attentive. She made sure I was comfortable until my room was ready. When I made it to my room Rielly was my nurse and they were getting ready for upcoming shift change. She was very nice and attentive. Later on that evening; I had David as a nurse and Nyosha as my CNA.. when I tell you they both went above and beyond with my care. I have no complaints. David was very chilled and laid back. I love how attentive to my pain and over care for getting better to be prepared for home. He said on schedule with my meds and helped manage my pain very well. I didn't have to call him for anything because he was already 2 steps ahead. Nyosha made sure I was very comfortable and had all that I needed.. she stayed on top of me staying hydrated and kept me comfortable. Erica from nutrition was amazing. They made sure everything was good and on time.. so my husband ordering a guest plate was more than enough. He loved all the dishes he ordered durning my stay. The staff was very polite and super friendly. When the shift came in the morning, I had Celine the nurse and Fudy was my CNA. They were a great team as well. They had taken care of all my needs durning the morning. I had to stay one more night just to be on the safe side. I had Angelina my nurse and Alexa was the CNA. They worked so well together. They made sure I was comfortable and managed my pain. I was have some abdominal cramping and Angelina bought me some heating packs. What a life saver. They felt so good and warm that it help my tummy. Housekeeping was great. She was very nice and sweet. She cleaned my room both times while I was there. She was very attentive to detail and just very humbled. Everyone was extremely helpful and I do recommend them to family and friends. read more

This review is for the small cafeteria they have in the basement. I was visiting a friend and after my visit I wanted to to find something to eat. I found a cafeteria in the basement and it didnt look good, but I was tired and hungry so I gave it a chance. The food was very limited, but I found a "pulled pork" sausage, some mac and cheese that looked like it came from a box you would find in the dollar store and some brown coleslaw. Needless to say that it all looked and tasted terrible and I soon found myself having stomach pains and rushing to a bathroom. Never again! read more

Arrived here at 10am to the emergency room. To have the service of where your checked in then sit out in waiting room, get checked in for ur insurance then take a X-ray go back to waiting room! This hospital has really came down in the concern for the patient, I am 9 months pregnant having to sit next to people who are sick! Your hospital bed is the lobby! What a joke I will not go back nor should they close the kids section off to the left that use to take care of littles! read more

When we walked into the Emergency Room, the technicians were motioning us over to them since they saw blood on the patient's nose. This is the first time we have visited in years due to previous problems with a Patient Advocate. They have a security officer on staff. Apparently, you have to check with security even if blood is coming out of an orifice. Then the security officer said they need a sign to check in with security first. Yes, if we saw a sign, we would have. But being turned away from an urgent care right before, we had our minds on seeking medical attention at an emergency room. I tried to appease the officer by signing in. I then asked if I needed to sign in the other person. He said no, he was a patient. At this point, I wished we went to another facility. After a check in, a representative brought in an iPad on a moving table. She said someone would be helping us check in but don't touch anything until she appears on the screen. It reminded me a bit of that ER episode with Dr. Dubenko going around the ER as a robot. Past the security officer, the staff was fantastic. Maybe the security officers need to remember that most people who go to the emergency room are not looking for a security officer, but medical personnel. read more

Country club of hospitals. You can tell that the management must run a good operation because everyone from the restaurant to the nursing staff are some of the most personable people I've ever met. Everyone seems to enjoy their job. The spine center, surgery recovery center and the rehabilitate acute care were all top notch and treated with professionalism and empathy. read more

Had a MRI and had to register once I got there even though I registered online and received a QR Code to log in and the clinic had a copy of my license scanned into the system.. upon arrival I scan my QR code and benoyance I forgot my wallet and I shared I forgot my wallet so they give me the tablet to sign the papers again... Then they sit my information to the side even after I get my license from my phone. I had to wait 30 minutes before they asked could I get assistance and they all the while helped an elderly later not requiring her to show her ID. And they walk away from the registration desk. Finally someone comes to the desk and asked had I been helped and I said no and shared the situation and my experience- she and the other clerk get to whispering about me instead of talking to me about the bottle neck issue with registration in the first place. I didn't get checked in until almost 1pm! The quality of customer service and experience could have been so much more smoother if they would have been more caring and warm in the process. I think even in the midst of challenges you should always be warm to all customers, friendly, pleasant and welcoming. read more

My friend had her baby here and I didn't realize I should have done a drive by. The campus is large and there's multiple entrances, some of them which are not open. By the end of my visits I figured out where to park so it's closer to the entrance of the building I want. The hospital is clean and all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The night guard at the emergency room was amazing. She took some time to help me while her counterpart maintained watch. She guided me to where the birthing room was. I would have gotten lost otherwise and it was 1am. There is a cafeteria and Starbucks. I visited the gift store. The nurses were kind. It was a good visit. I don't know what's wrong with these people, but don't go in here if you have a medical power of attorney for another person because they don't adhere to it, they release information to anybody that's near the patient, they don't communicate with the person who is the medical power of attorney in fact they ignore you. I don't understand what the problem is but maybe they need to stop practicing medicine and don't take people who have a medical power of attorney. I met my awesome in-network surgeon, Dr. Matthew Reynolds, shortly before needing to visit this facility. Days after our consultation, my drain (inserted in May to remove harmful leaking fecal fluid) began to fail. We were beginning to have to change the dressing almost constantly because there was so much external leakage. So on Sunday July 2nd, we confirmed that Dr. Reynolds was on call and headed off to the ER here. I must say, the wait time in the ER was embarrassing. I could not see how they could be so inefficient. We were there several hours before reaching a prognosis. Among our options, emergent surgery seemed to be the best, although it meant another surgeon would be working on me. I feel beyond blessed that Dr. Reynolds' schedule opened up and he was my skilled life-altering and -saving surgeon. So on July 5, sections of my dead and dying colon were removed. A part that had healed improperly stuck to my inside skin was repaired. (I also need to mention that my first night was not optimal. A room was not available, so it was many hours before my husband was able to see me and I had a restless night in an ER cubicle before I was able to be admitted to the hospital. And on my second scheduled visit, they also did not reserve a room. So when I was ready, there weren't any available and I had the spend the night in post-op.) I recovered and healed, and I returned on October 31st to have a second surgery to return me to a new-, near-normal. The care here on the sixth floor surgical recovery unit was impressive, although I was very surprised by the number of traveling nurses, and the youth and inexperience of the assisting nurses. The food was really good. French toast was a favorite, and I'm sad that I didn't get to try the chicken fried steak, which I love and heard was awesome here, because it was too rich for me during my 2 stays. As with UC Health, it seems really odd to me that they can't/don't staff the kitchen beyond 7 PM to accommodate testing schedules and later dining preferences. One last note on this long review. I have heard from many women that the delivery unit is exceptional! read more

I've always recommended this hospital but today was different. Nurses were very professional and very nice but this morning changed my review. I visited a friend having major pain, asked for help two hours prior for medication. I went to the nurse's station and they were all chatting in the hallways and eating at the front desk. Their parking situation is just horrendous. You have people parking in spaces that aren't even parking spots and the visibility just becomes so difficult in that case. They need to come up with something a bit better, not to mention they blocked off multiple rows of parking for literally no reason? It shouldn't be so difficult to not only find a spot to park, but especially closer to the building you need to be in. I had to walk from the opposite end of the hospital to the building I needed to be in because the parking was so scarce. There was valet which is nice but I wasn't sure if you had to pay for it and I feel that the valet parking should be further from the hospital entrance, they should be take the farther spaces compared to being right at the front. read more

I admitted for c- section and I received excellent care from physician and staffs. The hospital environment is very clean and neat too.

This hospital is showing its age. I brought my mom in for an outpatient procedure and spent the down time (3 hours) walking around and eating in the cafe etc. and it's pretty dumpy. It feels like they have no facilities people. The bathrooms are not clean, the walls are banged up in several areas and in need of repair and painting. There's food spills on trash can lids, food spills on walls behind trash cans, food and trash on tables and floors. The overall feel of the hospital is poor, dated and like that they're not investing in their facility. read more

I have mixed emotions with SkyRidge. Several times the stay was excellent. The most recent visit was very different.

I came into the Emergency room after being recommended by an urgent care and from the time I got passed security to the time I left almost everyone was very rude. Out of the 5/6 people I saw only Two were nice , attentive & concerned. Everyone else was very dismissive, made faces , ignored my questions. Would not recommend their ER! read more

My stepdad suffered a mild stroke, and they took great care of him. After seven days, he is now able to be discharged and is back on his feet, alert and oriented. My mom was there a lot to visit my stepdad, and they made her feel welcome. Their expertise and great customer service led to both of my parents being happy and well looked after. read more

My wife went in last week for a total hysterectomy to deal with some cancer issues. You can imagine how difficult it was. The doctor and nurses at Sky Ridge went above and beyond in their care. Gross Negligence at the very least. More likely medical malpractice. My friend was forced to leave the ER last night even though she had a life threatening bac level of .28. They only took the bac because I asked them repeatedly on the phone why they didn't take it when she arrived many hours earlier. They claimed she was "clinically sober" with a .28 bac. I told the physician on the phone she has had seizures in the past withdrawing from alcohol. A nurse told me on the phone that she "was past the stage of seizures". They would not help her and put her in an uber in her hospital gown to leave the ER in a life threatening situation. Upon arriving at her destination, I met her there and she immediately passed out on the ground. I took her to UC Hospital at Anschutz where she passed out again when checking in. The hospital staff (upon learning she has had seizures before) and seeing her pass out with her eyes roll back into her head immediately tended to her and said that she will need immediate assistance for extreme alcohol withdrawal. Thank god for the medical professionals at UC Hospital Anschutz. I plan to file a complaint against this hospital. Do not go here if you want good medical care in an emergency. read more

I've spent a lot of time in this hospital between being an inpatient myself and being by the side of both of my parents who were there many times into their 90's. It was always a good experience. Today, as an Uber eats delivery driver, I went to the 2nd floor postpartum unit and I was shocked at the attitudes of the staff at the desk. Slow, arrogant, snarky, basically lazy and acted as though I was invisible.....literally invisible. Do better, Skyridge. Also, the parking situation and the construction is making it horrible to have to go near there. read more

BLUF: spend time driving further into Denver Dr. Jeffrey Glish is the absolute worse. I took my wife for emergency treatment of muscular weakness and pain. We experienced two days of generic tests and slow progress toward a solution, but at least the neurological staff was working towards finding a way to help. On the 3rd day, Doctor Asshat comes in, shoos away his "minions", his word, and proceeds to tell my wife she's having super mini strokes, but they won't show up on any tests because they are so small, but that's the diagnoses, and that he's prescribing anti-cholesterol medication, even though no cholesterol test was performed, and oh by the way, you're leaving the hospital. And out the door we were shown. We've now seen two different doctors back home and they are shocked by the poor treatment and lack of concern we were provided by Sky Ridge and their asshat head of neurology. They are also working us toward an actual solution. I'll repeat what one doctor told me, "if I'm in the area of Sky Ridge and I need a hospital, I take the time to drive further into Denver". read more

Wow. Nope. Husband was recommended for four hour observation for anemia. Instead of recommended observation, they told us he had to have an endoscopy right away, which means 23 hours later(we got to the ER at 1, endoscopy was performed at noon the following day) long story and many complaints, but it turned out his ulcers weren't actively bleeding and they could have sent us home after the four hour observation time with strong antacids. Anyways two days and one endoscopy later he's finally home. The best part was how many people, nurses and docs, kept asking him why he was in a sling. Like rotator cuff surgery a month ago isn't in anyone's notes. Literally, one of his docs asked him on his discharge day if maybe he fell at the hospital. Very poor communication. read more

Our third time in the hospital at Sky Ridge (now HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge) in the last 6 weeks. First off, the nursing care is generally solid, but there are other issues that are EXTREMELY problematic: sitting in the emergency room for 7 hours trying to get admitted; TERRIBLE communication (including conflicting information) between the doctors, staff and patients; and today we spent 4 hours waiting to be discharged after being given our release, and then found out that the Admin was having a party for the rebranding and did not want patients being released (they literally blocked the entrance). There was even an email sent out on this. That is simply unacceptable on multiple levels. read more

While I may have given birth in the car, in the parking lot of Sky Ridge Medical Center, the care I received POST car birth was absolutely TOP NOTCH! I truly don't think I could have asked for better! My husband and I sped on over to Sky Ridge at 1:45am, only to make it to the parking lot before I pushed our second baby out... I have a video of it here: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CTradpYgMJP - but when my husband ran into the ER to get help, at least 10 or 12 people came out to assist and took phenomenal care of me and our new born! From the second I gave birth at 1:55am on the 8th of September until we were discharged on the 9th at 11:30am, I was treated with the utmost of respect and care and courtesy. Dare I say, I almost felt like I was in a hotel, where I literally did not have to lift a finger (except to hold my baby). Everyone has heard the negative stereotypes associated with hospital food, and with my previous birth, I definitely witnessed how grotesque it can be but OMFG! The food here at Sky Ridge gives ANY RESTAURANT AROUND a run for its money! My husband and I would legit just go to the hospital for lunch if we could! My husband ESPECIALLY fell in love with the cookie dough Bundt cake that was given to us as a congrats on birthing a baby! He has been dreaming about it since his last bite! Over all, truly a great experience. The rooms were super clean, the bed was actually pretty comfortable, and it your spouse stays with you, he/she too get the option of sleeping on a bed at night! Oh and there is a bathroom with a shower (with body wash/shampoo in there).... So you can revive yourself after a potentially long night of baby feedings! read more

Regrettably, 0 stars was not an option. This is a hospital only in the strictest sense of the word: there are Docs & Nurses (lethally understaffed), tests will get run (whether they are relevant to your complaints or not), and they will be mind-blowingly expensive, and if you have a cut they will sew it up for you. And the building is falling apart and unclean (filth is just mopped into the corners and left there to dry, holes in walls, broken furniture in the rooms, malfunctioning equipment). Honestly, if you have the choice between going here or just dying in the comfort of your own home, toss a coin to decide what to do. EXPECT TO BE BALANCE BILLED! Big Bill goes to insurance, Insurance reduces the bill per their contract with Sky Ridge and pays their part, you pay your part. And then over a year later, when you've quite lost all your bills & statements, they will send you a bill for the amount your insurance reduced your bill by. This is predatory and illegal. Report these events to the Colorado Department of Insurance. read more

I went to Sky Ridge because it was the closest hospital to where we were staying and I had pain and weakness all over and apparently was slurring my words. They did about a million tests, yet informed me of the results of virtually none. When I finally got access to which tests they had run, I found they had checked my hCG level three times. I'm postmenopausal. They even asked me if I was sexually active and if I could be pregnant. No. Unless there is a star in the east- I'm not pregnant. I fear getting the bill for all of the tests. The last day I was there, a doctor I had never seen before referred to the rest of my care team as his "minions" and then told me if I did not quit smoking, I would have a stroke and early dementia and end up in assisted living VERY VERY soon. Um. Great, but that's not what I am here for. He also started me on cholesterol medicine despite not even checking my cholesterol once.. My PCP and my neurologist here in COS can't even access the records from my hospital stay. Next time, even if you think I'm dying, just drive me in to Denver or back to the Springs. Nightmare experience. Oh. And on my discharge papers, under "diagnosis" it reads "no diagnosis" Very helpfu. read more

No. No. No. I had a seizure and ended up at Skyridge. The staff in the ER were annoyed and overworked. I tried to joke with them and ask how their day was, but they didn't even respond. The staff in the ICU were cruel and intolerant. They would come in and just stab my arm with a needle without telling me what it was or why they were doing it. I asked them why. They didn't respond (they just left the room). I will never return to Skyridge for any reason. Emergency or not. read more

I had went to Sky Ridge because of a hiatal hernia. I was in the pre emergency room which was a bit weird for me but I was well taken care of. Everyone was very professional and helpful. I had a lot of test run ultra sound, CTscan, EKG etc. I had a very positive experience with the staff even though they were very busy, I was still getting individual attention. I decided to visit the ER after constant days of throwing up, which eventually turned to throwing up blood, on the way there, my friend called the ER and confirmed that they would have a room ready for me as I came the day before and had to wait in the waiting room for around an hour. They assured her that they would have a room ready that they could put me in right when I got there. When I arrived my friend went to the front desk and was met with horrible patient care and a nurse with an awful attitude. After sitting in the waiting room for 20 mins my friend went up to the front desk to ask how long I would have to wait. The nurse instantly snapped and said "I will get to her when I get to her" and that she had to finish up stuff on the computer. I understand nurses are under a lot of pressure and do have to follow a specific protocol, but the tone was disgusting and her empathy was not there. When I was finally taken back, I wasn't taken to a hospital room I was sitting in a triage room. The nurse brought me back to my room and I didn't see anyone for 25 minutes until a doctor came in and talk to me and I had to let him know what I diagnosed myself with because I came the day before to the ER and they said they did not know what was wrong with me and didn't take any tests other than my blood and urine. In the end, I was correct with the diagnosis and I do not recommend anyone coming here if it's a true emergency because I sat in my room for five hours waiting for a diagnosis, multiple times my cords were unhooked and the code blue alarms went off in my room while I obviously wasn't coding, their lack of urgency was alarming to me. I do not recommend you bringing someone here that could code because they will take their time to get to them. When they finally came to my room (5-10 minutes later) they were unprepared, and there was no crash carts or anything. read more

Cafeteria staff is very nice but man their food is questionable. Who puts an entire orange in orange chicken? Also their churro was just a hard fried bread dough, no cinnamon and no sugar. You can tell that hospital is not diverse based on their take on "ethnic foods". Food is blander than a piece of white bread. Please invest in seasoning and spices thanks. read more

I went in to the ER for a panic/anxiety attack that I couldn't control ... for me I have no choice but to go but I am always embarrassed and I feel like tbere has become such a stigma with all this today which muddies the water for those who truly need help like me. Dr Elaine the PA was very kind, caring, compassionate and including me in the plan. The head charge (or triage nurse) was very kind as well, but I don't remember his name. The type and quality of care has been terrible. Jessica is her nurse. The first thing she said to the family is: all the nurses hate working here because of how awful the families are. Nothing was warranted for her to say that. She is so angry she has No business taking care of our fragile loved ones. We're here because of a broken hip and a broken upper arm.
