The salon is clean and nicely decorated. Every one at Sky salon, especially the owner, Kim, are warm and pleasant. I've been seeing Kim for about three years now. She's always warm, caring, and she does a great job on my hair! Kim also gives back to her community. Last prom season, she helped a young woman with her prom dress and all the "fixings". Great experience, for the most part, until today! My son went in his first time to get some twists done, we booked with a lady there, the day of our appointment we sat and waited 30 minutes just to find out she overbooked so we would need to come back hours later which we were okay with since I live in the area, but by the grace of God, Keisha was able to catch us as we were walking away and took my son so we didn't have to come back. He got his hair done and loved it, Keshia was beyond sweet and very helpful, I really wish we could book with her OUTSIDE of the salon because we would be lifelong clients. She's amazing. However, this is not about Keshia or even the lady who overbooked us. Kim (owner of the salon) is very unprofessional, I called the salon around 2pm using the number provided on GOOGLE, but there was no answer or call back that day. I call again a day later around the same time, no answer, infact my call was forwarded almost right away, I was so confused and let my son know that I hadn't gotten a call back yet, he asked me to call again. We were thinking maybe there was an issue with the phone considering it was forwarded so quickly, we have events coming up this weekend and needed his hair done so I call again, and again my call was forward which was so weird to me being that google shows this business was open until 6pm and it's been 24 hours with no call back, or even a message saying they will get back to me, at this point I'm confused as this is my second time dealing with a multicultural beauty salon (first time was with Keshia, again she's amazing) my kids are mixed so i'm just a mom trying to navigate how to care for thieir hair types and make it more manageablefor myself. With that being said, I'm not sure how these private businesses operate, especially a braiding salon. When Kim was finally able to answer her Phone 24 hours later, I got an extremely rude "HELLO"?! I said "hi is Keshia in?" She said,"NO, this is not Keshia's number, "but said she would send me Keshia's number, I said "okay thank you!" She must have thought I didn't hear her comment or maybe she thought I had already hung up, whatever the reason she says,"Damn! Called my phone 5 times, " and hangs up . I called back and asked for her name, and asked her why she said that before hanging up, she says because I was calling a lot, I said okay well I was confused as to why my call was being forwarded, so I called again, Here's where I determined that I would leave a honest review, the fact that I should have known that "her hands were busy" or that they can't "always answer" considering it's been 24 HOURS is wild, who lists their personal phone number on Google anyway, only to have a sour greeting when answering the phone? She was not at all apologetic and did not try to rectify the situation or provide any solution. It doesn't seem she has a care for new or existing clients (she didn't know I was a returning client). All I got out of her was "I'm sorry you feel that way" when I reiterated our conversation and told her I would have been MORE then understanding if she would have made me aware of the phone situation and if she would have apologized for making the comment she did. It is beyond unprofessional for her to answer the phone the way she did and for her to make the comment before hanging up. She needs to show a little more understanding, grace, and empathy, as well as invest in some good receptionist help. Below, I will provide a screenshot of my call log showing the number of times and the no call back. She should apologize to Keshia for ruining the opportunity to provide a service and gain a client. If you want to be undervalued as a supporting customer feel free to support this business, at the very least book with Keshia (she's amazing) as for myself, trying to figure how to care for mixed hair is stressful enough, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
