Credit to the the staff but with rite aid going down and all those customers transferring to Walgreens it's a lot on their plate. The pharmacy line was about 10 people deep, which already took a while. After finally reaching the counter, I was told my prescription was already bagged but I needed to sit down and wait another 20 minutes because the pharmacist still had to "remove the cap" before it could be sold. I have never heard of standing in line, reaching the counter, and then being sent away to wait again for something that was supposedly ready and already sitting in the bag. Meanwhile the line barely moved because several people were having full medical consultations and insurance debates at the register while everyone else waited. What should have been a quick pickup turned into a long, frustrating ordeal. If the prescription isn't actually ready, don't send a "ready for pickup" text. It wastes everyone's time. I tried this location because I happened to be nearby, but after this experience I'll gladly go back to my usual pharmacy. Even a slightly rude pharmacy is preferable to this level of disorganization.

We were thrilled to discover Ebisu Life Store had opened in Alhambra because it instantly brought back the Don Quijote (Donki) shopping experience. The store is packed with Japanese snacks, collectibles, cosmetics, household items, and kitchenware, making it easy to browse for hours. I came home from Japan with two suitcases full of goodies, but now I can conveniently restock many of my favorite products. It's a little bit pricier (2-3x) than the usual (of course, the import fees), but it beats flying halfway across the world. lol. Oh! And don't forget to visit the arcade, gotcha and claw machines! She also required me to pay through Venmo as a Friends payment even though this was a business service, which leaves customers without any protection. If this happens to you, you can report it directly to Venmo, and you can submit concerns about improper business practices through the IRS's public tip form.(IRS Form 3949-A -- Information Referral) Based on my experience, I wouldn't return.

No, these aren't premium Japanese brands like Sarasa or Pilot. They're made in China pens, but they're outrageously adorable. At just $1-$3 each, they practically hopped into my basket on their own. I spent an embarrassingly long time admiring colors, clicking pens, and convincing myself I absolutely needed the extra whimsy. My inner pre-teen was beyond giddy. I'm pretty sure I reach peaked serotonin in that aisle. As an unexpected bonus, I also found corn sticks in the snack aisle- a snack I pretty much inhale. Between the stationery treasure trove, nostalgic snacks, and surprisingly solid skincare section (Dr. Jart masks for just $10!), this store managed to hit every one of my weak spots. The cashier was also super sweet! I can absolutely see myself wandering back in the near future- probably for sunscreen, skincare, and definitely not for more pens.
