Shoua, the manager, has no clue how to do brows. She recently helped my mother, and my mom came back looking like she had two overgrown, bushy caterpillars on her face. My mother is older and not into current trends, she simply wanted a soft, natural brow look appropriate for her age. I understand everyone has their own style, but drawing on thick, overly harsh brows that looked like they were done with a Sharpie on an almost 70-year-old woman was incredibly disappointing. Ulta, please ensure managers at least understand basic makeup application and can tailor services appropriately for different age groups and client preferences. I returned everything at a different location because my mom was too embarrassed to go back due to feeling pressured on buying that day from that woman. read more

I enjoy coming to this Ulta because some of the girls are very nice, it probably one of the few places where they are pleasant. The reason why I'm giving a 1 star is because the last couple of time I've gone in Gaby has helped me. She is so rude and has no customer service skills. I was trying to get color match on foundation that I have at home but was too white in my skin (Chanel foundation). I told her what color I had at home and she said to me " no that's no true, it can't be that color" I mention to her I was only telling her what I had at home but was the wrong color on me. I had her color match me and all the colors she chose were either to light or too dark, she was clearly upset about it, not sure why, she's there to help. I ended up not buying none of the colors because she's couldn't get the right color. This is not the first encounter with her, in fact I had multiple encounters with her since I'm always there shopping. I like to buy high end makeup ( Chanel, Dior, hourglass) I'm not there to waste my time or hers. I booked an 11:00 AM makeup appointment at this Ulta for my baby shower--an important day where I genuinely needed things to go smoothly. I arrived about 10 minutes early, checked in, and was told my makeup artist would be right out. After waiting for about 15 minutes with no update, I finally had to flag someone down to ask if my artist was running late. Several minutes later, I was told that my makeup artist, Jacqueline, was actually running 20 minutes behind because she was still with the client before me. No one had planned to notify me. That meant my 11:00 AM appointment wouldn't even start until around 11:45 AM, which would have thrown off the rest of my schedule before my shower. Realizing I now had no makeup artist and almost no time left, I was brought to tears standing in the store--and still, no one showed empathy, offered an alternative stylist, or even apologized. I ended up grabbing mascara so I could do my own makeup after wasting almost an hour between driving and waiting. Jacqueline never came out, and the only person who showed any kindness was the cashier who checked me out and apologized on behalf of the store. This entire experience was deeply upsetting, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. If you have an important event, do not trust this location. Their lack of communication, empathy, and basic professionalism is unacceptable. I will never book an appointment here again. read more

Amanda Marin is my Elite stylist at Ulta. I love that I can make an early appointment an hour before the store opens. The store is clean and bright and well lit. I went for some highlights and a cut and have since returned for a root touch up by my Elite stylist Amanda Marin. She was very nice and professional and went through a consultation before doing my hair. She also helped me with products. The rest of the staff at this store are very helpful. Update: I called and they will be refunding me. The manager, Amanda was super nice and wanted to comp me a future service. Worst blowout of my life. I went to have my mind at ease, and left irritated with what does not at all look like a blow out. Poor girl you can know was unexperienced but not at the expense of my long hair, i was willing to give her a try of course, (no other option) but it was a mistake. I have never had a worse experience than that. She got my hair tangled in the brush multiple times, my hair is long so it got caught in the round brush and it was a disaster to pull out, she burned my scalp a few times, and was constantly tugging on my hair, even the next morning my scalp is hurting and I am not tender headed. I wanted to walk out but I also didn't want to make a scene. I have never in my life had a worse hair blow out experience. I'm sure she can handle short hair. But beware, if you have long hair and get a blow out with Ashely she is inexperienced. She needs to practice on mannequins still, she shouldn't be trying to charge for her services. But today at the Lake Elsinore Ulta parking lot; I cried because I realized someone's color, creed or beliefs are still stereotyped and isolated in 2024. I am deeply appalled, hurt, and disgusted by the treatment I received at your store in Lake Elsinore, Ca right before closing time on October 17th. Never in my life have I felt such a stark divide because of the color of my skin. As a loyal customer, I expected to be treated with respect and dignity. First time here. This Ulta has most of the things that every other Ulta store has, which is why I gave it at least 2 stars, but their customer service is lacking. The employees don't greet you or even try to help you find anything. I was walking around for a bit looking for their Philosophy display. Once at the register the cashiers didn't greet me or ask to ring me up. They were busy chatting to each other. And once I was being rung up, the woman barely said hi and got on her walkie to chat with her coworker about a different woman in the MAC department. I wasn't impressed whatsoever. Very POOR customer service. I walked the entire store looking for what I needed because none of the girls that worked there asked if they could help or if I had questions. Yes, they all yelled "welcome!" Upon entering the store but that was the extent of any contact with them. I had about 6 items in my hand and not one person offered a basket. This is while I was carrying around my 3 month old baby in my arms. I walked out with $163 worth of product because they had what I was looking for but I will only visit this location on an emergency basis. The worst experience ever !!! I spent $2000 on hair extensions (application and color) the extensions are terrible quality they last me 3 days , I've been using hair extensions for 13 years my pre hairdresser bleached my hair extensions and of course they got damaged so I decided to go to Ulta to get new hair and get them applied there as well .. I had sew ins installed they starting falling out . My scalp got irritated and I have red bumps due to the application . My hair was snagged by the beads installed. I got them installed on a Saturday and contacted the hairdresser that applied them that same day I told her that it was a poor application and that my hair was snagging . She said she would help me by removing them and would reapply When I got to the salon she showed me a maniquín head saying she was practicing to reapply my hair , Makes no sense how can I possibly trust her to redue my hair or anyone there ??? Got a refund for the application and 2 of the hair extensions that she cut wrong so they were no longer good to use ,,, I had to go another hairdresser so get the beads out since they were hurting me ... She applied new hair and also used the 3 wefts that I bought at Ulta at that point I was happy . When I washed my hair on Wednesday all the hair started to fall apart I called the hairdresser I had previously seen and she removed them again . I was in shock to see the hair I had purchased at Ulta was falling apart they were just extremely cheap quality or even a bad batch . So I went back to talk to manager and she said that there was no way I could get a refund for the extensions, I was furious she said that due to another hairdresser removing and applying them for me they are no longer under there warranty !!! Makes no sense hair extensions do not fall apart by removing and reapplying!!! And even if that was there policy the manager should of told me when I went back it was obvious I had to have them removed due to them hurting my scalp ,,, I will definitely take this to another level ,,,, Ulta hire certified hair extensionist it's unfair to pay so much money for such poor quality hair and installation read more

This review is for Ulta in Corona (Cajalco). Excellent customer service! I've not encountered one rude employee- they are all so nice and greet you as you enter the store. Store is always clean with no items out of place. Ladies room is nicely lit and clean offering a fragrant soap for hand washing. They offer workshops where various vendors present their makeup or facial products. My definite go to place! read more

I tried for a couple of hours to place an order on line. I have 2 gift cards but you can only use 1 gift card which is most ridiculous. I called customer service and they said they could merge the 2 gift cards to one and they would email me the new gift card number and I could then place my order. It is now 10 hours later and I have not received an email. When I go in and try to use the gift cards I have in hand they both say there are no funds on these cards. what is the deal with your guys' hairstylists i was looking at the reviews because i recently got a bang trim at this location and the stylist didn't give me what i wanted at all. i know that could be a communication issue but i specifically told her to trim my bangs a certain way and she cut wayyy more than i asked. i also told her to leave the side sections of my bangs alone and the first thing she did was start trimming them. i have semi-micro bangs now and am so disappointed. and by the looks of other reviews, it's not only me who's had a bad experience with the hair salon at your location. read more

Stephanie has been consistently rude and disrespectful every single time I've been here, ever since the very first time being "helped" by her. She makes faces and gives you looks for no reason, and has an attitude over honoring THEIR COUPONS. She has been the only associate so far to tell me that even exchanges are not possible when a coupon and points have been used together.... what? Every other location has absolutely no problem doing this, what gives? So I ask her to elaborate and her explanation was BS, I tell her I'm still not understanding her explanation and she has the audacity to say, "Well you should, it's pretty simple." BOLD girl! The security guard had been standing there at the register just STARING me down for no reason while she was dishing me attitude, like can you not? Then he has the nerve to chime in after that smart remark by Stephanie!!!! Unbelievable. The other day I went to use the $3.50 coupon with a nail polish purchase, and Stephanie immediately isn't willing to apply it or try, since apparently "nail polish is prestige". Ok fine. I purchase them anyways, go home to check if the ulta app would have allowed me to use the coupon, and IT WORKS. NAIL POLISH IS NOT PRESTIGE, at least OPI isn't. I confirmed within the fine print details link on the app that OPI is NOT on the list of restricted items for the regular $3.50 coupon, so she was full of it! She just didn't feel like honoring the coupon for me, and I don't come to ulta to be discriminated against. Thank you very much for that. Not only her, but the rest of the employees have horrible attitudes! Everyone is nasty and rude. Their security guards stalk you around the store, and just STARE at you up and down to the point where I actually had to ask the guy if he needed something from me. A comfortable shopping experience is absolutely not what they accomplish here. Can't even walk around the store without feeling like you're doing something wrong. I love this store but they really need to familiarize themselves with their own corporate policy. I bought a concealer during the Black Friday sale. I asked if I couldn't exchange it if it wasn't a color fit, and was told absolutely. Well when I attempted to do exactly that I was told that because it was purchased on sale and the item was now full Price I would have to pay the difference, for the same item in a different color. I just had a baby and haven't been able to maintain my hair. I haven't had a cut in so long and it needs to be dyed badly. With just having a baby I haven't made time for myself to do this. I made a hair appt over a month ago for today because I have a very special event on Tuesday. I showed up 10 min early and waited 15 min for anyone to acknowledge me. When they did I was told with no remorse by Lorraine that she was still going to be awhile with her client and I would need to wait another 45 min. I understand things run behind and people call out sick but they could have called ahead to let me know or even said I'm sorry or offered to take some of the price. Worst $300 I ever spent. Carly, the "master stylist" put highlights in my hair. I didn't notice until I left and looked in the mirror at home that my highlights were brassy and completely a different color on top. I called and told her, and she made an appointment for the next day. Another staff member called the next day, Monday, 4 hours before my appointment to say she wasn't going to be in, and her next appointment wasn't until Thursday. I called later that Monday to talk toa manager. She was curt, unsympathetic, and unhelpful. I went in on Thursday and had to wait 20 minutes after my appointment was scheduled to start for Carly to finish with her customer and clean up. She acknowledged my hair was brassy, and assured me that re toning was normal. When I went under the dryer, she said she was going to smoke. When she was blow drying my hair, her hands smelled like cigarettes. Super long story short, the re toning didn't fix my hair. She told me to buy purple shampoo. Which didn't fix it either. Now I'm going to have to pay to get it redone, DEFINITELY somewhere other than Ulta. read more
