I've been collecting vinyl for a long time. I have over 2500 albums. At least half of them came from Sky Valley. Once I discovered Chuck and his store I really had no reason to go anywhere else. If by the odd chance he doesn't have what I'm looking for he'll find it for me. Prices are cheaper than any other store I've been too. 100% go to Sky Valley if you're looking for something specific or just want to browse for an hour or two. Awesome selection of new and used music to search through; they have the most comprehensive used record inventory I've seen in one shop. The owner, Chuck, is kind, knowledgeable and honest. Great store with extremely friendly owner. Two rooms jam packed with new and used LPs. Found some unexpected gems that were very fairly priced. Sky Valley is one of my all time favorite stores. The owner is a very cool, down to earth dude who is working hard every time I walk in to keep his store pristine and the inventory fresh. It's a much more personable experience than a lot of other stores, not to mention the collection of records is very impressive. There is a lot of CDs too but what I really like is all the Knick knacks and assorted items he has around the shop from figurines to backpacks, wall clocks etc. I also strongly recommend browsing the used vinyls all along the bottom of the shelves; it is one of the biggest selections of used vinyl I've seen and I've scored plenty of life-altering records from there at bargain prices. read more

Owner is a real jerk. I've spent hundreds of dollars in his store and I thought he was cool until he wrongly accused me of requesting an album and then not buying it when it came in. He said he sold it anyway but he would never order an album for me again. And I've turned on many people to this store and this was the way he treated me. Do not trust this guy! read more

Love this store and the people who work there! The owner is insanely nice and well versed in all genres of music. Always compliments my t shirts which I appreciate and no matter what I bring up to the counter whether it's Hall and Oates, Clutch or the Spice Girls, I never feel judged. On the contrary, the owner always has great things to say about every album my wife and I purchase from him! He has tons of both old and new metal, punk, emo, classic rock, rap, hip hop, reggae and so on. He keeps the Facebook page very updated with new stuff he gets in which I greatly appreciate as well. The guys at Sky Valley Records are amazing! I typically order from them on their Facebook page as I live in Iowa and they are based in New Jersey. Today I called Sky Valley Records and spoke with Frank on the phone who was very kind and helpful and was able to add some more items to an existing order due to the fact I found even more stuff to buy from them on their Facebook page. They are always posting great records, tapes as well as other music odds and ends on Facebook for purchase. Chuck and his staff are very responsive on their Facebook page and always answer all my question about an item before purchase. Horrible store for selling records. I personally will not ever be going there again. The money I received for selling hundreds of vinyl records wasn't even worth the drive there let alone anywhere close to what I should have made. The fact of the matter is that my expectations were rather low to begin with so for them to somehow still be unmet it quite sad. I am not one who generally criticizes, especially not publicly, but I felt that this had to be said. I am truly outraged and feel very much taken advantage of.
