Heroes is easy to get to and has a large assortment of both new releases and back-issue comic…read morebooks. Especially new releases that are sold out or hard-to-find variants. I didn't see a lot of "sports" stuff there, if any, really. But there was a good amount of Funko Pops, trading cards, and other related collectibles if you're into that sort of thing. I'm only here for the comics. Overall, it's a place that I can easily pop into on my way home but can get lost in for hours just by combing through the dollar bins and searching for hidden gems. The owner is friendly, courteous, and always fun to talk with. You can tell that he loves collecting. (A "problem" that all of us in the comic community seem to have haha) My only gripe is that the condition of some of the dollar books and back issues should be looked at more carefully. Some are not quite as good as I thought they were when I purchased them. I only discovered this later on after taking them out of the bag. But for the low prices on some of them, I really can't complain.

I went here for Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) as a way to finally get a feel for the place. But I figured FCBD was the perfect opportunity since most shops use it as a way to connect with and introduce new patrons to their business. Upon opening the front door, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly cat. I thought, okay, this is my type of place, being a cat guy myself. But that's where the warm feelings end. Unfortunately, the feline was the only friendly personality here as the owner didn't want to acknowledge or make it feel like I was really wanted. (And after reading some of these other reviews, I can see that I'm not alone in that regard.) As for the selection of books itself, there is certainly a HUGE selection of new releases and back issue bins to go through. Unfortunately, all the back issues are priced at market value or higher. Not exactly a competitive price considering all of the other local comic book stores in the same area have much better pricing. Plus, dollar bins.

It's also located next to The House of Fun toy shop. Interior of the shop is nothing to look at; it's rough and could use a renovation. New pull selection of comics was fair, but had a good selection of graphic novels. Almost no wall books to speak of. Where this shop stands out is, like the other location, is the large longbox selection. This takes up the majority of the shops space. An important item worth noting is the shop does have several comic cats. They are friendly and like pets. Overall, while this location could use a renovation, I think it's easier to access and better then the Philadelphia shop.

I asked an employee where to find romantasy. She blinked twice, muttered something about "over there," and vanished like a ghost in a YA novel. The café? I ordered a cappuccino. What I got was dishwater wearing a foam hat. Also, it took **20 minutes**. There were three baristas, and all of them appeared to be arguing over who was least qualified to use the espresso machine. To top it off, the cashier line was run by a group of sloths on a lunch break. Moral of the story? Support your local indie bookstores. At least there, when you're lost, someone helps you without sighing.

The layout of the Barnes was great. In the center of the store is the cafe with plenty of seating all around, which is needed because this place always seemed to be busy (for a bookstore). I was genuinely comfortable and felt like I could get my work done with little distraction outside of hushed conversation and coffee making in the background. The store itself was very clean and neat. I had no idea Barnes & Noble started selling Vinyl records which, I admittedly don't collect, but was great to see they're trying to adapt to popular culture and stay relevant in an era of iTunes and other digital purchasing platforms. Another standout was the cleanliness of the bathroom and attentiveness of the staff. I always saw someone walking around picking things up, asking if someone needed help and checking the bathrooms. This store has it all - collectables, toys, video games (just about any console), board games, cards, physical media (movies and music), etc. If you love physical media (movies) like I do, this place has quite a selection - from VHS to blu ray. It's alphabetical too, which is a really nice bonus. There is quite the selection of titles and they're always restocking new selection. I left with a sizable pile to add to my collection. There's also a pretty large selection of music CDs as well. The video game wall is huge - a large variety of titles for most systems. From collectables and figures to toys from multiple decades, there's a little something for everyone. The owner is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. There's a municipal parking in the rear and some street parking. I don't live in the area, but will certainly be back here again down the line. Highly recommended.

I spent my childhood picking through 25 cent comic bins at flea markets. This place brings it all back. This place is ripe with back issues and rare finds. I love 80's swamp Thing and horror comics. I've found so many good books here. There are no pretentious wanna be nerds hanging out here. There is no group of guys arguing about the finer details of Ironman issue 457 vs 458. The staff is extremely helpful both on the web and off. Always willing to hold things for you if you ask.
