When the trash chute breaks the hallways look like this
    Marisa L.

About a year ago new management took over and everything has gone so far downhill since. Residents are paying luxury prices to live in a run down building with rude and unethical management. Prior to moving out I would have given a 2 or 3 star review, but after dealing with this move out process I wish I could give 0 stars. A few of the issues we encountered while living here: - Our unit was filthy when we were given the keys. So much so they offered to delay our move in to wait for a cleaning crew but as we had already taken off work for the move we couldn't delay it any longer. - If you have to deal with management or the leasing agents once you're a resident, do not expect to be met with respect or kindness. - It is extremely hard to put in a work order, there is no longer an online system - you have to call or email them. Good luck getting someone to return your calls and don't expect a response to your email. - The rent listed online is far less than you'll actually pay. I've never seen an apartment complex with this many added fees. There is a trash fee AND a trash admin fee, there is a water fee AND a SFWM fee (South Florida Water Management), along with multiple other monthly fees not specified until you've already signed a lease. - I've never felt unsafe or scared of elevators until living here. When the elevators inside are down for maintenance, which happens extremely often, expect a 10-20 minute wait to get to your floor. The stairs aren't an option unless you can convince the concierge to unlock them for you. At the time of our move out, the one working elevator in the parking garage was past due for inspection. - The hallways are not cleaned and the trash chute breaks constantly. The hallways often smell like trash because of this. It's truly embarrassing to invite friends over. - Along the lines of inviting people over - unless they are walking distance it is a pain to have guests over because there is no visitor parking. Our move out process was the worst move out process I've ever experienced. We received charges for hundreds of dollars worth of cleaning and damage fees. After a week of emails/daily follow ups requesting further information and proof we received a very general response listing out the charges once again but still not providing proof or reason for them. After another week of daily emails requesting further proof we finally decided to look for Gateway Management Company corporate office email addresses. We luckily found them and once we got the regional manager involved we received the "proof" - the proof was a picture of our door showing its unit number and then pictures of an entirely different, filthy unit. Over two and a half weeks of dealing with this and the regional manager let us know "I found that they made a mistake". If we hadn't gotten the regional manager involved the only way we would've received resolution would have been through small claims court. It should not come to this and I feel so sorry for anyone else dealing with SkyHouse Management's dishonesty. The current management has ruined SkyHouse for residents who used to love to call it home.

He provided me with a very descriptive list of things I should get done before moving in (such as paying the application fee online, getting renters insurance etc) which I followed to the "T" and got it all done. He always assured me which parts were done and what was missing to complete my application. Even up to the move in date, he explained lots of other things and gave me some pamphlets to read and keep myself informed about trash pick up, pets, etc. I actually asked Andre (the assistant manager) how long Angel had been working there because he seemed so great and professional that I assumed he had been working here for a while. Shocked it was only 3 weeks. You def have an amazing employee with Angel. Also wanted to give Javier (one of the maintenance crew) a shoutout since he helped me with some stuff in the car and put it in my apartment. Super nice of him to help out. Overall great experience so far and very quiet neighborhood even though there are tons of stores and restaurant just 2 blocks away

My apartment wasn't clean properly before I moved in. Bathroom window had black mold. I had to call their Corporate Offices in Texas several times to make sure that I got my appliances replaced and that my trash wouldn't be skipped. So their idea was to put me in a model home with one bed for 2 nights, for three adults with no bed sheets, towels, toilet paper and no way to cook without compensation. After two days we moved in to a house that wasn't cleaned and several things broken. It took my mother in law 3 days to clean the entire apartment and took them about a month too repair the broken things. furthermore the kitchen sink was broke for five months even with the weekly call to the office to try to get it fixed. Fast forward to June my door gets busted in too with all my belongings stolen in the middle of the day! There repair consisted of fixing my door with liquid nals. So the next day went to the office to tell them we want the door fixed correctly and they promised me that would fix it. 8 days have passed without the door being fixed so I set appointment with the manger at 10am. After making me wait untill 1050 am she finally talked to us. Instead of being sincer and comfortmating after my place just got robbed she only wanted to argue with us in a very unprofessional manner. Finally I just said "I'm leaving this is worthless and your wasting my time. Her reply to me was" Good I want you to leave stupid @ass". Today I'm having a meeting with the regional manger. During my time here my apartment got broken into, my car broken into, and a package stolen off my front door step. *** I will be posting videos on u tube listed as lake view Pointe nightmare, were I recorded all conversations from the start to end and including police visits.

1 Star GERMAN ROACHES!!!!…read moreIf you're considering renting here because it's advertised as a "luxury" building, read this first. After living here for one year, it has been one of the most frustrating and poorly managed living experiences we've ever had. The marketing and the reality could not be more different. In just 12 months we submitted 19 maintenance requests. During that time our washer and dryer both had to be replaced, the AC broke, a ceiling fan literally fell from the ceiling, the bathroom fan failed, and our closet collapsed off the wall three separate times. These are not minor issues--they are major maintenance failures that should never happen in a building charging luxury prices. We also dealt with German roaches twice. We were told we were on a weekly Monday pest control list, yet service was inconsistent and the problem continued. The garage was also misrepresented. What was presented as a private garage is actually shared with public parking, something we were never told before signing the lease. My wife's car was side-swiped in the garage, and there were no cameras on that floor to identify who caused the damage. The garage gate itself has barely worked during our lease and only functioned properly for about a month. When it briefly started working, management emailed residents. When it failed again two weeks later, there was no communication. Parking enforcement is almost nonexistent. Valet and public parking are supposed to be restricted to designated areas, yet we constantly saw vehicles without resident stickers or parking passes parked in resident spaces. On levels 3 and 4 there is usually one valet attendant downstairs and no one directing traffic upstairs, turning the garage into a free-for-all. We've often had to park on the top floor or avoid using our cars because we'd lose one of the few decent parking spots. Every weekend, valet guests use the same elevators as residents. It's common to share elevators with intoxicated people, and we've regularly seen people carrying open beer cans or liquor bottles who did not appear to be residents. It feels more like living above a nightlife venue than in a residential building. Outside the building, we were frequently approached by homeless individuals yelling at residents for money, making it uncomfortable to enter or leave the property. The building has three elevators for 22 floors, yet one is consistently out of service, and we almost never had all three operating at the same time. At one point an elevator was down for about two weeks with no communication from management. The trash bay door has never once been closed during our time here, allowing anyone to walk in and dump trash. Management communication has been one of the biggest disappointments. Complaints often went unanswered, but the moment we emailed saying we would not renew our lease, they responded immediately. The next day, our exact unit was advertised for $200 less than we were paying, even though our renewal offer had increased our rent by $100. We also returned from vacation to find the water had been shut off at 5:00 a.m. and wasn't restored until around 4:00 p.m. the following day. The hallways also regularly smelled like marijuana. After moving out, we were told our security deposit was only $500, despite having documentation showing we paid substantially more by check when we moved in. When we questioned the discrepancy, we were told the current staff weren't employed when we moved in, so they weren't responsible. We have documented these issues and are considering filing complaints with the appropriate housing and consumer protection agencies so future renters can make an informed decision. If you're looking for a true luxury apartment with responsive management, reliable maintenance, and secure amenities, this was not our experience.

First off I don't live here, that's being said I really like the place. The front desk was…read moreattentive and friendly, the elevators were clean and didn't smell.
