The vibe of this place didnt feel like a typical diner. Its definitely a tiny bit fancier and pricier. But there werent really any customers inside on a sunday afternoon. There was a variety of food on the menu, but what i ordered actually wasnt listed on the menu. Originally i was going to get an order of french toast, and then another order of eggs with bacon. But out waiter let me know they had a breakfast platter with all the items on there. I thought it was weird it wasnt listed in the menu. We also ordered a cheesesteak and the waiter asked if we wanted a side salad with it. It sounded like it was part of the meal, but when we got a check it was actually an extra charge. We didnt like that at all since it wasnt mentioned at the time.

It's always a pleasure to eat at the Skylark. Fast friendly service. Beautiful retro decor. Try it! You'll like it.

Came here with my boyfriend and it's beautiful inside. The seats are colorful and it is a really happy atmosphere. The food is phenomenal, I got the avocado smashed toast and it was 10/10. He got the Churro Waffle and was pleased. He also added a side of crispy bacon. The place is slightly expensive, but worth the price. The latte I got was not good, just pretty. Waitress forgot to add the vanilla and I should have just kept it plain lol. The service was okay. She was very kind but everything took pretty long (they were busy) but i mean, i had to ask 4 times for the wifi so i can show her what she was asking for but kept walking away. I had cash in hand with the bill to pay and every time she didn't take it... but overall the experience was 8/10

I have been to this diner a few times and I have to say it's the quintessential New Jersey Diner with an upscale dash in both decor and food options. One can always default back to burgers which are amazing but one can also go for healthier options. Service is top notch. Zena was the waitress helping us and she was so sweet to my seven year old. Coming here really made our night.

We stoped here for breakfast after our 9+hr drive from North Carolina. We arrived about 30min before they opened so we took a quick nap in our car while we waited! lol Once inside we took a look around. Love the decor. Loved the booths and the light fixtures. The counter stools where nice and wide. They had clocks set to times around the world. We got seated right away. Our server was super friendly. She gave us our table and menus and gave us some time to check it out. First up for us. Large Fresh squeezed orange juice. When I tell you this hit the spot after our long drive I'm not doing it justice. lol it was the best glass of oj I think I've ever had. Get it. For our breakfast order, we had a make your own omelette, spinach, ham , bacon. Super tasty. It also came with toast and some home fries. Also had the short rib hash with fried eggs a small salad and a little cup of fresh yoghurt with honey and blue berries. This dish was full of flavor. I was surprised how much I enjoyed a small salad moth breakfast y'all! I paired perfectly with the richness of the short rib hash. The yoghurt with honey and berries was a nice addition as well. All in all it was a great way to start our long weekend in New Jersey . Give this place a go if you're in the mood for a great breakfast and awesome diner experience.

Had the sesame chicken and it was good. The portions were good. I wish the chicken was just a bit more crispy, but outside of that it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes Asian food.

I've had Skylark Diner on my radar for a minute because I heard about their R&B/Jazz Brunch on Sundays. I decided to go check it out with another Yelper. When I arrived at noon, it seems like they were still setting up for the Jazz Brunch. I wasn't really sure of the dynamic of how it was supposed to go. I'm not sure if reservations are required or if you had to tell them specifically that you wanted to do the Jazz Brunch. They set up the music in the bar area, which is tucked away in a corner on the side of the restaurant. We were seated in the main dining area. Therefore, we didn't get to experience the music aspect of it. Nevertheless, I ordered the Spicy Mango Mule for my drink and had the Salted Caramel French Toast with a side of bacon. I have no complaints about the food or drinks. Our server was nice and efficient. I would return to Skylark Diner again.

A friend invited me to hang out on a Friday and recommended we check out Skylark because she said she heard the food was amazing and that after 9pm they opened the "lounge" section where there was a DJ and I said I was in! Upon entering you see the traditional diner to your left and the lounge area to the right and when asked the host shared that we could order food and drinks in the lounge and stay as long as we liked listening to the DJ so we went with that option. The lounge is dimly lit and has the perfect grown and sexy Friday night fun vibe as the bar in the lounge was full with people talking and the DJ was already playing music. Our server immediately greeted us and took our cocktail orders while we looked over the extensive menu. There were true diner offerings even in the lounge so if you wanted pancakes with your music and appletini it was possible lol. We ordered a few appetizers and a shared entree (mozzarella triangles, calamari, bang bang shrimp and short rib ravioli) and every single thing was DELICIOUS! We each had food this take home as well. We literally stayed for 3 hours after finishing our meal listening to music and dancing because the DJ was that good and because more people flowed in throughout the evening. Skylark is definitely a great lowkey Friday night vibe and we will be back!

The service was good and our waitress was nice. The food was delicious and I was definitely feeling the lavender mimosa afterwards. Maybe because I'm a light weight. But when eating out always remember to double check your bill just in case there are any extra charges on your bill. Because our bill had an extra $20 for some apple juice that we didn't even order. The waitress was cool about it and took it off right away. But this just reminded me to always double check my bill because normally I don't check it thoroughly and just hand over my card and not look at the itemized list of what was ordered.

I've passed by this diner for years & have been curious. The outside always looked so futuristic & interesting. We grabbed dinner here after an event on Saturday. They have private parking and most of the spots were taken. They were very busy ( most folks were at their Halloween party inside ) It room a few minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us and to get seated. Once we sat, our waiter Jeremy was sweet and helpful. I ordered an amaretto sour ( one their fall specials ) but was disappointed when it came in a small plastic cup. We were informed they stopped serving drinks in glasses after 9pm but other tables were getting drinks in martini glasses. I liked my sandwich and Jeremy was nice enough to turn it into a panini at my request.I was put off by my dirty water glass. I'm not sure if I'll be back ...

Our waitress was wonderful! Very attentive and on top of our order. Everything was wonderful, they do have comedy shows on the weekend. Definitely an old diner but very inviting. Food was great as well.

We booked the Paint & Sing on a Saturday 1:30-5 pm slot for $55/prn. It included music entertainment, painting experience, and karaoke. It's BYOB and you are welcome to bring snacks as well. Door opens at exactly 1:30 pm (it's locked prior to that) and upon entering, there's a check-in counter where you get your apron for painting and coat rack to hang your coats. Then you are directed to your table which it's already set up with paint supplies and a blank canvas. Very lively and hip vibe. Our painting instructor was wonderful and we were entertained the entire time. There's no bad seat in the room as they had a stage with camera where the instructor showed step by step on painting. There were TVs all around the room for each table to follow without issues. We take breaks throughout the session to allow paint to dry and time for dancing and singing. The time flew and we were promptly done by 4:30. Extra time remained for pictures and clean up. I highly recommended it for a girls gathering, birthday celebration, or just a fun thing to do. Everyone walked away happy and with a beautiful painting to show for.

So how did I wind up back here? Bit of a story but if you read my first review you'll see how I met a friend that I met online 13 years ago for the first time and this was the place we went for dinner after an event. Well, now a year later, her and I were traveling together north to Parsippany and this was the closest restaurant that looked appealing. It was not until we enter the parking lot I said out loud, this is where we had our first dinner. Anyways, enough of that love story. I really want to give this two stars for service but the food really pushed it over the top. So all in all I will keep it as a four star review. I want to address the food first, I had the short rib tacos, and my partner had eggplant caprice flatbread. I had a bite of hers which I absolutely enjoyed, eggplant had a nice crisp to it which really made it enjoyable. The short rib tacos... holy crap! Mind blown. I did not expect such great flavor in such a small bite. Everything about the tacos packed a punch. I would much rather have had six tacos and no chips and salsa. As for the service, this is where I got frustrated and my cash tip hopefully reconcile with my server. We dined on the rooftop which was completely empty minus a couple at the bar. We seated and ordered our beverages. I did not get my lime with my lemon water. After we ordered our meals, and received them, a server never came back to check in with us. I wasn't a big fan of her attitud either. It started to get busy I noticed that the host kept seating everyone around us when there was an entire floor to sit people at. Not sure if they're trying to keep people in one specific area but for how slow it was they certainly could've given everyone more privacy. I'm pretty sure the couple that was seated next to us got up and left for that reason. Cannot say I will not be back but who knows when I'll be traveling through again.

Pretzel Bites - This time they had a honey mustard and regular cheese sauce. The honey mustard was pleasant, but the cheese sauce was thick, and force was really needed to get through to break it. The steak was tasty and there was a nice blend of ingredients mixed in. Cheesy Macaroni Bites - This was fried macaroni and cheese. I do not remember ranch being served, but the tomato sauce was not bad. They were nicely fried, but they were just okay. Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza - This was alright. The crust was not very flavorful and cooked enough. There needed to be a bit more of a hot honey presence. Boneless Buffalo Wings - The Buffalo sauce powerful, but solid quality and nice cook on the chicken. Bone-In Wings - I had the BBQ, Buffalo, and Asian sesame flavors. The Asian sesame had a little kick, something about these intrigued me. The BBQ was a little sweet, probably due to the Dr Pepper addition? There was a little inconsistency on the wings as some needed to be a little crispier. Buffalo Chicken Dip - This was very cheesy. It needed a little more buffalo sauce, but good chunks of chicken present.
