Had breakfast here when I was in New Jersey. Nice and friendly neighborhood diner in downtown Fords. The restaurant is bigger inside than it looks from outside. There is booth seating and counter seats. The food is diner style serving breakfast and lunch. They also have daily specials. I had a waffle with sliced bananas and walnuts. Very good and plenty to eat. The coffee is hot and good This is where the locals eat. The restaurant is open 7 days from 6:00 until 3:00. There is limited street parking.

This place is where the locals residents around the area gets there bkfts/lunch. This is my second time around. What I noticed is how the staff greets everyone with a smile and sometimes with ppl names. Which tells me how staff makes the patrons feel like home. It's a small place but inviting. Reasonable prices. Street parking

This cute little local favorite was a delight. I got stuck here in Ford, NY due to a break down with my truck so I decided to try the local cafe! I loved it, food was good and fulfilling while I listened to the local chatter from the patrons! The service was awesome and even the cook came by to say "hi"! (Hard to find this in So Cal) If you're in the area and want something that kinda takes you back to a simpler time I think you'll like Colonial Restaurant

Small, local spot with great stand nice staff. A little wait which told us the locals approve of the food and that is a great indication of a good food experience. We stopped here on a road trip and were not disappointed. Coffee was fresh and delicious and kept coming- a huge plus for us as we love it very much. Attentive waiters, tasty, well made food and I'm picky. Eggs were not greasy, bread was toasty warm. Place was clean. Would recommend 100%. Will stop again if ever in the area.

What a cool little place to have breakfast. A friend told me about this gem a few mo the back & I've been trying to stop but today it finally happened. It's hidden pretty well in a small strip center and if it wasn't for the construction going on I wouldn't of found it. I had remembered a month or so ago I was driving by and they were refinishing the front but I didn't have the tome to stop. I ordered the French toast with bacon so good & a friend met me and he ordered some special they had with Canadian bacon and eggs with potatoes. The staff were friendly and the food was out super fast. I'll for sure be saving this place for another trip

Would I recommend it? Yes. Is it worth seeing once? Also yes. It has that big, theatrical, old-school deli energy where the portions are part of the show. That said, I'm not in the camp that every good restaurant is automatically a five-star spot. When everything is a five, it gets harder to separate the truly elite places, the hometown heroes, and the restaurants worth planning a trip around. Harold's lands for me as a very solid three-point-something, graciously rounded to four because they have a Marine Corps flag hung in reception. The food was good, the portions were whatever you make it, and the whole place has novelty value without feeling like a total gimmick. The sandwiches are large enough to satisfy a hungry, medium-sized guy without completely defeating him. And honestly, on a menu full of meat, my favorite thing may have been the healthy pickled salad/pickle bar situation -- bright, crunchy, and a great counterbalance to the heavier deli classics. My biggest knock was the service atmosphere. There seemed to be an army of staff, but not much interaction beyond their phones. Maybe I caught it at an off time, and maybe the place comes alive when it's packed, but that kept the experience from feeling warmer or more special. Overall: fun stop, good food, convenient location, and worth doing if you're passing through. Memorable four.

I got the 4x2 and the pancakes were indeed, as the counter people assured us, were "the best you've ever had". I believe they are correct. After selecting our breakfast options, which would be made easier with a flow chart on the menu, we enjoyed some fine coffee and an interrogation on our comings and goings.
