We all went to celebrate a birthday here. A two-storied restaurant in downtown Metuchen. We all sat upstairs where large tables are set up for groups such as this. Though pizza is the main draw, check out the menu for other types of fare. The place is set up nicely and Steve, our head-server did his best to accommodate all 12 of us. Food was delicious, but too many entrees to discuss here. Tips are included with 7 or more in a group.

Great spot for pizza! It was a busy night, service was a bit slow but very friendly. The food was delicious, highly recommend the brussel sprouts and chicken wings for the appetizer. Great location, and great vibes. Highly recommend for a date night.

Very excited about my visit here while staying in Woodbridge at the Residence Inn. Arrived just past happy hour (darn!) which ended at 5pm. Impressive discounts on food and beverages....next time! It wasn't busy so I was quickly seated. Fresh house made sourdough bread was delivered and delicious. The red sangria was a yummy blend and was a nice touch with my vegan pie. I ordered the pizza sans cheese and really enjoyed the eggplant, garlic, basil toppings. The house salad was a nice size and the fried onion topping added a flavorful crunch. I didn't care for the dressing though. Service was prompt and friendly, my water glass was never empty. Deducted a star as my cocktail, salad , and pizza all arrived at the same time which is a pet peeve. The server took the salad back but it was not refrigerated so she redelivery a room temp salad, blah. Sweet server just needs more training on timing. Or maybe that is the norm there. Next time, I will order 1 step at a time to avoid that issue. Private parking with an upper and lower area which was a bit confusing, will know for my next visit. Bread was so good that I purchased a loaf to bring home for my hubby in Atlanta!

Love their pizzas especially the peppa pig. They also have some great drinks and a great happy hour. Only downside is the happy hour is T-F 3-5 so it's tough to make it. They should at least go til 6! Fave drinks are the white sangria and the spicy blood orange margarita. It's a pretty big space with upstairs seating. Kids get crayons and a coloring sheet so that's always helpful if you have little ones that need to stay entertained. Their house made bread is so simple but so good! I could keep eating it especially bc it comes out hot. Also, their pastas are good too!! You can't really go wrong.

Woodstack Pizza in Metuchen is a great spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe. We tried the Prosciutto pizza and the Peppa Pig, and both were delicious with a nice crispy crust and well-balanced flavors. The Peppa Pig is a fun take on a meat lovers pizza and loaded with soppressata, pepperoni, sausage, and bacon marmalade, with peppadew peppers adding a nice pop. The prosciutto pizza felt lighter and really fresh with arugula on top. Both had great topping-to-crust ratios. It's a bit on the pricier side for what you get, but overall a really solid stop and we will likely come back.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a great friend, so when I was thinking of a place to take my amazing daughter for her birthday, this was my first choice and I'm happy to report it did not disappoint. Service was tied with the food for first place! Starting with the friendly and helpful hostess, every single employee offered a greeting and a smile. Our server was Elijah, he was wonderful! Warm, friendly and professional. He was attentive and perceptive. He didn't hover but anytime we needed he re-appeared. We were greeted by two out of the three managers, 10 out of 10. Now for the food! We ordered the rice balls, maple wings a Pepper pig pizza and for my cocktail I had the blue Hawaiian. Every thing was delicious hot and freshly made. The outside and inside are visually appealing. I would describe it as modern meets industrial with a nice dose or rustic, very nice.

My husband brought me here for Valentine's Day, and I'm absolutely obsessed! The restaurant has a parking lot and plenty of seating, which made everything so convenient. Their menu is full of must try dishes, and everything we had was incredible. It felt like each item outdid the last. My husband really nailed it picking this place! We started with fresh bread and butter, which won my heart immediately, because not many places do this anymore. We also enjoyed a bottle of white wine. For appetizers, we had the maple chili chicken wings, wow, just wow! and the burrata, which was amazing. For entrees, we shared the Tártufo pizza, which was excellent, and the pappardelle bolognese, my absolute favorite! Everything was perfection. I can't wait to go back!

Had such a good time here! Went for happy hour with a friend and we were pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous the restaurant itself was. We sat upstairs and got a nice view and then ordered two pizzas (happy hour deals are great). They make all their bread in house and all their food is customizable and dietary restrictions friendly. I ordered a grandma pizza and my friend got the pizza barese. Mine was great, I finished the whole thing and my friend liked hers although found the broccoli Rabe a bit too bitter for her I also wanted to highlight how amazing the staff was - as we were leaving my friend forgot her leftovers on the table and we only realized when we reached the parking lot. When we went back, the table was cleared already but management offered to remake the entire pizza which we really appreciated! Overall had a great experience and will definitely be back

I want to start off by saying that I love the aesthetics of this restaurant. It gives a cozy and a warm feeling. This restaurant is the perfect place to catch up with your girls and be casual but still want to look cute. I can also see it being a perfect spot for happy hour after work. It had a nice bar area where you could sit and watch the games playing on tv. It is a super spacious restaurant and it is nice inside. The service was fantastic from the hostess and our waiter was great. That alone definitely makes me want to go back. All the staff were super friendly which I can appreciate. As for the food, it was pretty good. I will say that the menu isn't super big which is good because sometimes big menus can be overwhelming. All the dishes we ate were delicious and enjoyable. I definitely recommend the maple wings as an appetizer and we also got the grandma pizza for the table. For my meal I got the Bibb Salad and it was super refreshing so I also recommend that as well. Overall, if I get the chance, I definitely would return to Wood stack.

Make sure you make reservations as it gets crowded even mid week entry area a bit cramped . . Great wood fire pizza with lots of varieties of toppings. Great artichoke appetizer with a sweet sauce . Fresh bread served which is delicious. Good service and nice atmosphere great flavor, just a bit pricey

Often bristling with a lot of people, this restaurant is a solid find in the heart of Metuchen. It's pretty close to a major mall and great to use as a spot for getting a bite to get away from the mall crowds. This place can get quite busy fast so it's important to make reservations on sites like Resy. Food is consistently delicious and I would highly recommend their appetizers especially the honey glazed brussels sprouts and Caesar kale salad mixed with roma tomatoes that come with an extra punch. Their best bar drink is a spicy cucumber margarita which consistently hammers home a kick that stays on your pallet for long. Their pizza is delicious - thin crust and the Buratta pizza, especially, comes stacked with a big bowl of Buratta cheese. The ambiance is lively and fun with both an upstairs and downstairs!

First time eating at Wood Stack and it was a great experience! The restaurant itself is beautifully arranged and lets in a lot of natural light. We made brunch reservation on a Saturday just in case it got busy. I was really excited to try their pizza as not many places have prosciutto pies. Both pies we ordered were as delicious as they looked. Very different from your local italian restaurants but in a good way. The pizzas reminded me of some great places in Brooklyn that serve thinner crust style^^ Service was also fantastic and servers and managers often made their rounds! Will definitely be coming back again.

Stopped by on a Friday at 5:30 with a party of five. The staff was friendly and accommodating overall, giving us time to figure out what we wanted to order. The main dining room has a center bar area a two store high ceiling and modern looking. It has a great feel to it. The table at which we were seated was a bit small for five, and the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. We did a round of cocktails and they were on the sweeter side from what we were used to - a bit heavy on the simple syrup and they took a bit too long to be delivered to the table after ordering. Switched to beer for the second round of drinks. Ordered some appetizers. The bread itself in each application was fantastic - very rustic and artisan with a nice color from the wood oven. We ordered three pizzas to share and try. They were on the small side for the price, and were (especially compared to the bread) a bit underwhelming. The pizza crust was good, sauce and toppings meh. By the time the pizza came out, the service dropped off and our server was absent for long periods of time. It got busier I guess? Not bad overall but not great. They do appear to have good happy hour deals price-wise weekdays between 3pm and 6pm. Have to give that a try sometime.

    No.

I would my young child here! There were many families with small children and babies having dinner upstairs!

Is this a good spot for happy hour with a group?

Yes!! But so far we've had to always call ahead or make a reservation to make sure there's not a long wait to get in with a group

Being handicapped, is there an elevator to the second floor dining tables?

I asked the same question and the server told me that there isn't unfortunately.

As I approached the door--something many others had done before me--I was abruptly stopped by a man who turned out to be the owner. He rudely told me "NO," and then followed up with "Would you walk into a refrigerator in a restaurant?" Honestly, if the refrigerator was in the middle of where the party was being held, then yes, I probably would--especially if there was no signage saying it was off-limits. Only after this encounter did he put up an "Employees Only" sign, which tells me it wasn't clearly marked before. This could have been handled in a much more respectful and professional manner. The owner's attitude was unnecessarily rude and confrontational. If he expects people not to go in, proper signage should be in place before the event begins, not after making guests feel unwelcome.

Pretzel Bites - This time they had a honey mustard and regular cheese sauce. The honey mustard was pleasant, but the cheese sauce was thick, and force was really needed to get through to break it. Fiesta Nachos - This had tortilla chips with roasted sweet corn, queso, Pico de Gallo, jalapeno, lime crema, and avocado crema. We also added steak. This was the best item of the night. The steak was tasty and there was a nice blend of ingredients mixed in. Cheesy Macaroni Bites - This was fried macaroni and cheese. I do not remember ranch being served, but the tomato sauce was not bad. They were nicely fried, but they were just okay. Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza - This was alright. The crust was not very flavorful and cooked enough. There needed to be a bit more of a hot honey presence. Boneless Buffalo Wings - The Buffalo sauce powerful, but solid quality and nice cook on the chicken. Bone-In Wings - I had the BBQ, Buffalo, and Asian sesame flavors. The Asian sesame had a little kick, something about these intrigued me. The BBQ was a little sweet, probably due to the Dr Pepper addition? There was a little inconsistency on the wings as some needed to be a little crispier. Buffalo Chicken Dip - This was very cheesy. It needed a little more buffalo sauce, but good chunks of chicken present.
