Chocolate tini hit the spot but the waitstaff did not. We walked in and there wasn't anyone at the host stand and the bar didn't have 4 seats. So we went to one table and then decided to move to another table. The waitress came up to us with a huge attitude and said we needed to order drinks at the bar if we weren't ordering food. We didn't know at that point if we wanted food. So we went to the bar and it way longer than necessary for 3 martinis. We finally got our drinks and decided we wanted food. I asked the waitress if we needed to order food at the bar and with the biggest attitude she said yes you didn't tell me you wanted food. I hope the food is ok. **this review is solely for take out!** My coworker and I ordered takeout for pickup today and the food was so good that I had to write a review! We weren't super hungry but we were craving a chicken Caesar wrap, so we decided to order and split a blackened chicken wrap which came with fries, and corn riblets. I had no problems with pickup and the hostess was super nice. Ordering on the website was a little glitchy but it worked out. The blackened chicken wrap was delicious- well-seasoned, perfectly cooked chicken, just enough sauce, had a good kick without being too spicy, and the tortilla had a great char. The fries looked like basic fries but they were also very good. Lastly the corn riblets - super tasty, lightly seasoned and the chipotle sauce that came with it was really good too. I met up with a friend for dinner and drinks on a Friday evening. To start we had the shrimp cocktail and the mussels in white sauce. The shrimp was fine but the cocktail sauce was subpar (I also would've loved a little horseradish with the sauce). The mussels in white sauce were excellent. The flavor was there and the mussels were cooked properly. For dinner my friend had the penne vodka (it was ok; average at best). I ordered the crab cakes served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I was soooo disappointed in my crab cakes. They were HUGE but they were all filler, no killer. I was digging for crab meat and barely found any. :( my roasted potatoes were fine and so were the veggies. To drink I had a house Cabernet, and a shot towards the end of the meal. This place is off the hook. Manager Robert meet and greets everyone. Service is good. They have a DJ. Outdoors with a bar to serve the outside. Nice ambiance. Been here few times but never yelp it. The service I received at The Brown Stone was exceptional. I arrived late on Friday night for an impromptu dinner date with my hubby, and the place was packed. We weren't sure there would be seating for us, but the host (a distinguished gentleman named Rob or Ron) told us to give him a moment and assured that he'd find us a good spot. Hats off to him for going above and beyond to make us feel special. The wait was less than 5 minutes. Because there was only outdoor seating available, he set up a clean table positioning us directly near a heat lamp to ensure that we'd be comfortable and cozy because the night air was humid with a slight chill. Where we were seated out back, we had a up-close view of a competitive corn hole match. The vibes were amazing. Outdoor bar is huge and there's a large tent as well. I very much enjoy the tranquility of the outdoor waterfall. There is much room outdoors to move about - much space to entertain a large gathering or private event. Hats off to the bartender. The drinks pack a punch and you certainly get your money's worth. Must try their signature old fashion!! As for the food, the appetizer sampler is always a go - wings, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, cheesy wedges, and maybe one other item that I'm forgetting at the moment. For my entree, I ordered the crab cakes, and although they were rather tasty, texturally they are a little too mushy for my preferences. The dessert tray had a mini key lime pie that I was excited to try but it was just okay. Too much moragne and not enough key lime filling. My overall experience at The Brown Stone was great. Have passed by this location quite a few times and had the opportunity to check it out for a surprise birthday party. Food was pretty good. From the lemon chicken to sliders, wings, pasta etc. The server attending to our party was great. Right on time with everything. Due to the party being outside we were hoping the food to be covered. Next thing you know he's bringing out covers for the food. Water refills and anything we needed this guy was right on point. The downside was the inside bartender. Not friendly at all (to me). When she looked at me she seemed annoyed to serve me from the beginning. I thought providing a decent tip would make my next round a little better. It didn't. Served my drink took my money and that was that. All awhile laughing it up with the 3 people at the bar. No 3rd drink for me. I purchase and tip on my experience. What I would typically tip on that 2nd round at the bar I gave to the server plus more. I have a pretty good memory. When I return I'll avoid her as much as possible. Went for lunch with a friend. It was quite busy and very noisy. The service was fine, but my lunch was not very good. Actually, should have sent it back. I had the overpriced French Dip, complete with tough meat, rubbery roll and lame (hanging around) fries. I took the leftovers home for my husband to try. I didn't say a word about the meat (I did put it on a different roll - fed the original to the birds) and he thought it was very tough also. Will reheat the leftover fries tomorrow. Awesome place, great food and fresh beer with solid bartender. My only complaint sounds pretty stupid, but they don't seem to pay attention to what's on all the nice TV's. Sometimes like 5 TV's are on the news. I don't think anyone goes to a bar and wants to watch the news. People start arguing over all of the very incendiary things going on and it's a bad vibe. Used to be better. Wasn't great. First off, it's obvious they aren't cleaning the lines on the draft beer, so get bottles. Next up their brownstone burger tasted like Wendy's. I remember the burgers here being really good which is why I wanted to come back. Also I came here on a Saturday during lunch and it was completely empty. Meanwhile they're loudly playing some dance remixes of old songs like it's a packed nightclub. Although I was surprised it was empty when I got here, I wasn't surprised after getting the food. But our server was great, she was very very attentive, very patient when we were being indecisive, and thoughtful. I was really pleasantly surprised by the Brown Stone. I had a large party trying to find a last minute dinner spot after a nearby restaurant quoted us a wait of 2.5 hours. The Brown Stone came up, and they were able to accommodate us right away. We got to sit outside on their nice patio, which had plenty of space for kids to roam around, a beautiful waterfall feature, and outdoor games like cornhole and giant Jenga. The service was good - we had a large, disorganized, and frankly demanding group, and our waitress handled it all with a smile. The menu was varied and had plenty of options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. The food was fine, but not outstanding. For example the mozzarella sticks were not really warm, so the cheese wasn't gooey like you would want, the chicken in the fajita chicken wrap was dry, and the linguini & clams was heavy on the linguini, light on the clams. If they stepped up the food quality a notch and maybe even focused their menu a bit more, this would've been a great experience! read more
