I had a great experience working with the team at Skylers furniture to help set up my backyard patio for the summer season this year. I stopped at the warehouse sale I happen to catch and the team was really eager to help me after discussing my wants and needs and budget. There was one set that I wasn't totally sold on so I left that day without anything, but I couldn't stop thinking about it so I went to the store the next day in the village and John was able to help set me up with order and payment and delivery all before the 4th of July! Delivery was smooth they showed up on time and were able to bring everything into the backyard and AJ went above and beyond and helping style to make our backyard cozy. They didn't have the side table that came with my set in stock at the time of delivery, but they let me choose another one and I picked up at the store at a later time. I didn't even think about using Skyler's because I assumed it would be out of my budget, but I'm really happy with my purchase and now our backyard is cozy and usable. I would consider shopping at Skyler's next time I need a new piece of furniture. This is one of those reviews where 5 stars doesn't feel like enough. We LOVE Skylar's Home & Patio! We first discovered Skylar's more than ten years ago when we bought our home. While in their gorgeous showroom, we saw a couch in the most beautiful teal color. When my husband agreed that the color was amazing, I immediately ordered a custom sectional in that fabric. (We also ended up buying the coffee table and a piece of artwork that was with the display couch because it was all meant to be together.) For the past 10 years, our teal couch has received more compliments than probably anything else in our house. It still puts a smile on my face every time I look at it, and it has held up remarkably well. That being said, ten years and a couple dogs will put some wear on any piece of furniture. I was already getting sad thinking about having to replace it, so I reached out to Skylar's on the off chance that they still had that couch. John immediately replied to my inquiry, pulled up our old invoice, and confirmed that they do have both the style and the color available. I was beyond thrilled with the service, the availability, everything! I told John that the only wrinkle is we have a newer puppy who is still in a destructive phase...he replied by saying, "Let's get out an iron for that wrinkle" and said I could order now and they would hold onto the couch for me till we are ready to have it delivered. Skylar's customer service is one of the worst I've experienced in the furniture industry. We placed an order December 13 that indicated delivery by Christmas. Not only did that not happen, but here we are January 9 and the store's manager doesn't even know the status of the order. other employees can't even find the order. Christmas came and went without the furniture ruining a gift. I would not recommend shopping at Skylar's. When a store manager tells you they have too many things going on in a day to resolve an issue you know their ownership has a problem. read more

With the help of salesperson John Odell I found my perfect RED couch at a great price. I was able to customize it and in 4 weeks it was in my living room. I love it is made locally in Los Angeles.The delivery crew Alex and Aaron were great and for a small fee removed my old BIG sectional. Bought a couch from skylars back in 2017 and already time to replace it. They claim to replace if any issues but when I tried there was soo much red tape felt more like I was being ran in circles. I spent over $2k on this couch and now its causing back problems not only for me but the entire family. This is not to bash on skylars they didn't make the couch they just sell crap. The couch is so bad now we sit on the floor against the couch instead of on it. Skylars won't do s$&! About it and hide behind mfg warranty. I am couch shopping again cause now I own a $2000 eye candy no one can sit in. I just head warning buy a couch from here your buying an as is couch use it in a room where it looks nice but not for sitting. Major shoutout for this LOCAL family-owned furniture store. First off, they have a streamlined inventory that only includes the most stylish and comfortable sofas and sectionals. Within 10 minutes, we found 3 sectionals that we probably would have bought, had the big box stores actually had anything this good. We ended up choosing the Luxe sectinal, which Skylar's helped us customize the layout, fabric, legs, and even the seat cushion core composition. We ended up checking out both Skylar's locations before actually pulling the trigger on a purchase and found the service at both stores to be great. Special shoutouts to Virginia at the Carlsbad location for her patience and willingness to walk us through all of the options, and to Johnny at the San Diego store for his friendly attitidue and willingness to get us the options we wanted at a price we could stomach, which ultimately saved us time shopping additional stores. It should be a few weeks before our furniture is delivered. As long as that goes smoothly, and the quality of what they bring is as good as what we saw in the store, we will be very happy customers! I will post an update after delivery. So far, it's a 5 star review! Update: We received the couch a week ahead of schedule! From the date of order until delivery, it was less than 2 weeks. I ordered a couch from Pottery Barn, and after waiting 7 months with no word of when it would show up, I cancelled the order and ordered another couch from Crate and Barrel. They promised me I would have it in time for my Thanksgiving company. Nope. Delay after delay, and finally I was told it might come in January. I cancelled the order, and was lucky enough to find Skyler's. I found the perfect couch, customized it to meet my needs, and they promised I would have it by Thanksgiving - although Thanksgiving was only 7 weeks away. Not only do I have it, it arrived early! The delivery guys had to get it up a flight of steps, make a tough turn in a hallway, and even take the base off in order to get it into the doorway. Not a problem. They were fabulous. Supporting local business is what our family does most. This is such a gem in the quaint little village in Carlsbad. These guys work hard, fast, and know their product. We built a custom sofa we saw at Crate and Barrel saved over $1500!! I couldn't believe I hadn't met these guys sooner. You have to check the place out. Very stylish sofas, bedroom furniture, and Patio furniture for such reasonable prices! We're not talking Ikea, Jerome's stuff. We're talking really nice quality brand name stuff for like half the price of the furniture stores in San Marcos and Miramar. I keep saying I cant believe it, but truly one of the great places to shop in North County. A lot of the stuff you see is in catalogs, but they have stuff there for you to see and touch so you can really get a sense of what it is you like. We absolutely LOVE our sofa, and it was all custom to fit our crazy shaped room. Skylar really knows what he's doing, and the other guy there (sorry I can't remember his name!) was able to explain every detail to us so that nothing was left unturned. Can you say a hidden gem? I have to yelp about this... I had been searching all over San Diego for a Pottery Barn look a like sectional with it's quality and a price tag of $1,000-1,500.
