I rented the 19 foot Maxim for one-day and had an AMAZING day on the lake. Most rental shops are very reserved and assume you are an idiot, Skylite is definitely to place to rent if you know what you're doing. You will save a little money and get a nice runabout with an inboard/outboard rather than the cheap outboard rentals at the marina. After chatting with Robert for a few minutes about my years of experience boating, he went over a few things, hooked up the trailer and sent me on my way. To my surprise, he mentioned that he wouldn't be around when I returned the boat and trusted me to drop off. It had been a few years since I dropped a boat in the water and to be honest, it was one of my favorite parts of the day. It truly is like "riding a bike" and I impressed my wife with my boat ramp skills haha. The boat ran strong all day and buzzed the dam, made our way to Face Canyon and then cruised back to Wahweap. Perfect day on beautiful Lake Powell. The only drawback from the rental was the boat was missing a dock line (didnt really care because I just stopped to grab a few things at the store). Also, there was no stereo but like most boat rental spots, they don't rent stereos, they rent boats. I brought a bluetooth speaker and it worked out just fine. Skylite is the best! Robert, the owner, is awesome and very helpful. We wrapped the rope around the propeller and he came all the way out to the lake and removed it quickly and for far less than local guys would have done it. He also has his boats in perfect mechanical condition. Our boat and PWC's were fantastic, very comfortable and powerful and reliable. No issues for the whole week with any of them. Very disappointed in this dishonest rental company! We rented a boat from them, it was in disrepair. Upon returning it, they charged us an additional $1000 for damages that we did not cause! Their boats are beat up and they will charge you to repair them for things you did not damage. This review is way overdue. In August of 2016 we rented a houseboat in lake powell. Did some research and found Skylite had the best prices by far. We rented a speedboat and 2 waverunners. My son and I decided on a late-November trip to Lake Powell four months ago. We had rented from Skylite a decade ago, so contacted them again. The brand-new owners, Teri and Bob, were great! They were just changing locations, and did the work before we arrived to ensure we could charge our electric car from one of their welding sockets at the new place. When we arrived, they thoroughly went over everything, making sure we were fully prepped to wakeboard behind their 22' Bayliner with tower. Teri even ran back to their house to get us towels, because they thought ours were too thin. The tow vehicle, trailer, boat, and wakeboarding equipment all worked flawlessly. We had the lake to ourselves and had a blast! Here was the real test, though: through an act of carelessness, I damaged the winch on the trailer. I let them know, and pointed out another cosmetic issue I saw related to the accident. Bob and Teri, *at the same time*, said "no!" They explained the second issue was pre-existing. They charged me so little for the damage I felt guilty. Their new location is great, and they are wonderful people. The equipment worked perfectly (until I damaged it, and then it still worked). This was by far the biggest adventure of our trip! We rented a small bay liner (19ft) for one day so we could explore the canyons on Lake Powell. I would recommended getting one size bigger. When the water was choppy, it was a rough boat ride. Upon check in, the staff seems very helpful and willing to teach us things we are not 100% comfortable with. The boat was a little worse for the wear. You could tell it had several repairs made to the hull of the boat. What we didn't know until we started driving the boat in the lake was that the speedometer didn't work (we never new how fast we were going) the fuel gage never left full, so either we didn't use as much gas a we thought or we were in danger of running out. Another big problem was the steering wheel didn't really seem to control the propeller....at slow speeds- not wake zones- it was pretty much like driving a car at six flags or Disneyland, we didn't have much control. We had not trailered or launched a boat in about 25 years. BUT we felt confident we could do it again. We had to watch other boat launchers and follower their lead on a couple of things. (this process would have been easier with another couple,or least one more body). Once in the boat we got things settled quickly. It was explained to us that you follow the red and green buoys , so you don't get lost. I recommend you stay close to the buoys AND read your map so you don't get confused on your way. A compass would also be handy. All that said, we had so much fun making our way to rainbow bridge from Wahweap marina. We made a picnic lunch in our boat and then headed up the trail. (It's not far, but take water. Then we went straight to the dangling rock marina to refill the tank and were pleasantly surprised to find flushing toilets and a snack bar. Very handy! From there we explored a couple other canyons, each unique in its own way , but spectacular. In all we spent about 9 hours on the lake including launching and trailering the boat. We had a lot of fun!!!! I had to give only three stars based on the condition of the boat. But if returning to Page, we would rent from them again and just ask for a newer boat. read more

We needed an 8 passenger Ski Boat to tow behind houseboat and to view and experience the harder to reach canyons as we traveled up Lake Powell from Wahweap past Bull Frog and back to Wahweap. Great Service and Support, We were able to arrange with Robert to bring the boat on trailer to the State Line boat ramp launch it then hand us the keys, He also met us a week later upon return at the State Line Boat Ramp to take the boat load it up on the trailer and give me a rid to the Wahweap Marina to hook up with the rest of our party. His timing was always perfect. Robert and team were always there right when we needed them. The boat while not new, comfortably seated 6 adults and 2 children, was mechanically perfect and operated flawlessly. We did dig the prop on the boat and concerned at the cost for repairs. Robert indicated that can happen particular as the water level was 40 ft lower than standard. The cost to repair was more than fair. This was my first time renting a boat from a commercial boat rental. I found this organization very customer oriented On time, great product at lower prices than the Lake Powell concession rentals. We were offered several toys as part of the boat (Ski Tube and Skis). The Concession rentals wanted to charge an additional $50 a day each which is why we decided to go with Skylite Boat Rentals. We've been renting from Skylite for years (both before and after the new ownership and location). We've had nothing but great experiences with these guys. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful, and their boats are high quality and very reasonably priced. This year in the middle of our week rental, we had an issue with one of the Seadoos we rented. They were nice enough to send someone out to where we were several miles up the lake with a replacement within just a few hours. We rented an older (2000 Reinell) wakeboard boat from these folks to accompany a houseboat. We had 3 families on the boat and we put about 6 hours a day on the ski boat for 5 days in a row. The boat performed like a champ the entire trip. I didn't notice if the boat was in rough condition, cosmetically at all because all we cared about was how it performed. It started every time. Never stalled. Had plenty of space and plenty of horsepower. It served us really well. We had no issues with checking-out or returning the boat. The downside of this rental company is the boats are a little older and it is 30 minutes outside of Page. The older boats don't bother me a bit because ours ran so well. I would give it five stars for the best prices we could find, boat quality and service but the location set it back a star. read more
