Horrible service and manager/owner. They never respond to emails and are rarely in the building. Many complaints from condo owners.

Well, how can I say the worst experience I have ever had! First of all turned away from working with a chain company to work with a local company to support my community. Many people have told me to never pay for a service ahead of time because the company will end up screwing you. Will, this is exactly what happened. I gave my credit card information to a representative at J & B Appliance of Coastal Carolina to set up and confirm an appointment for last Friday, June 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The appointment was to come out and diagnose my problem, which I authorized at $145.00. If there was a problem, the $145 would go towards the repair of the issue. I asked the office representative to have the tech contact me when they are on the way. They agreed that it would happen. End of call. Well, on the morning of my appointment at 8:00 am, the doorbell rang. It was Sears. I had cancelled that appointment two days before because I wanted to support a local company. I informed the representative that we had cancelled a couple days before, okay, and he left, and I knew that I had paid my money to J & B Appliance of Coastal Carolina. Well, my daughter, wife, and I waited for the J & B Appliance Tech to come out and fix our Whirlpool oven. We waited, waited, and waited, then we got a text that he was on the way. Finally! Then, not long after, we get a text from tech. that he had cancelled our appointment. Okay Why? We, again, daughter, wife, and I are at home waiting; we have already turned away the Sears rep and also paid for the J & B Appliance of Coastal Carolina to come out. We want the oven fixed. The tech. Never showed up to the appointment. I called the office because I wanted to know what was going on. The office stated that I had cancelled the appointment while my whole family is waiting for the tech to come and fix the oven. No one in my family cancelled the appointment. The J & B Appliance of Coastal Carolina Tech had cancelled the appointment. Then this J & B Appliance of Coastal Carolina Company charges me. $77.39 because I canceled when neither I nor anyone in my house had. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone. Never give them your credit card info. They steal your money.

He diagnosed the problem, and had to order a part and was back at the appointed time to finish the repair. Enjoyed talking and dealing with him. Excellent service from him and from the office lady whom I called. Upon arrival (late evening), my daughter went to use the guest bathroom, and spotted a cockroach on the wall of the shower. She called me to come into the bathroom to kill it, and of course I took a video of the cockroach. Those suckers move fast! Although we valiantly killed and flushed the roach (which prop mgr insists was a palmetto bug-righhhhht), we ended up coming across 2 more (1 in the kitchen & 1 in the guest bedroom), that we couldn't vanquish in time. Needless to say, we were grossed out. Everyone knows there's never just a couple of cockroaches, and we weren't keen on hanging with "La Familia Cucaracha" all weekend. Although we wanted to leave immediately, we reluctantly decided to stay, mainly due to the fact that it was late at night and our girls had to be at Coastal Carolina Prospect Camp early in the morning. By now it was after 12, so out of respect we waited until first thing the next morning to reach out to Will (the prop mgr). At that time, we advised him we couldn't continue our stay, due to the roaches. Will immediately dismissed our claims (even though we sent him photos & videos), and told me he would only refund $146 out of the $485 + $35 (insurance) that we had paid, which made no sense. I told him that he could subtract a third of the total cost of the stay, and refund the rest- very fair considering the circumstances. At that point the phone "magically" disconnected. He then proceeded to text me that he wasn't refunding a penny and "wished me luck" in getting any money back. So here I am, taking the time to write this honest review, in the hopes it saves the next person. Had we not had this issue, we would have gladly stayed, as it was conveniently close to Coastal Carolina. There are plenty of other options within the community though, so do yourself a favor and choose one of those... or take the risk of dealing with this man and the roaches. We will not be getting a refund due to his extreme unprofessionalism, so I will now spend a little time each day sharing our experience. *Edited to add that we also had issues with the water pressure and drainage (see videos), however, those could have been remediated during our stay. Spraying for roaches during our stay in the unit, was not an option- I'll pass on us breathing in poison all weekend. Not a big fan of cancer, thanks Will!

He made us feel incredibly unsafe and then literally called the police, lied to them about the situation, and brought an officer to the door. We told the officer our listing said we could checkout at 12, and that's when we'd be ready. He apologized to us and left. The property manager kept harassing us after the officer left, even while my boyfriend's special-needs sister was clearly deeply upset and confused. If someone is late, you charge them a late checkout fee. You do not bully, harass, and threaten them. Disgusting behavior.

Match Property review:…read more I was optimistic within this management company. I had moved into my unit in Surfside Beach, SC on March 27th, 2025. Morgan was aiding me at the time and was very wonderful during the inquiring process. I did not receive a walk through however she was able to let me check out the property. I build homes for a living and have walked through inspections. I didn't notice any major attention issues. However, the housekeeping was below sub par. A few days later I noticed a water spot after a large rain. (Thinking maybe the roof was leaking.) Turns out the AC units draining system was not professionally installed. I had contacted Morgan to get maintenance. She was very adept to communication. However, the maintenance team was lacking luster and not reactive at all. After a few days I had repaired it myself and communicated that to her. Maintenance showed up the next day to resolve the issue; however, I informed him I had already repaired it. I did notify him that there was water damage on the sheet rock just below the unit next to the air return ventilation. He assured me that he would repair the water damaged spot and repaint. I waited a few weeks, then a month passed and there was no communication. Had inquired a couple of months later with Morgan. She informed me she did not work there any longer. Flash forward to November 11th, 2025. I had been out of town due to work for a few weeks. Returning back to my unit, finding out my stove had not been working as it threw an error code. I had informed the company, and they stated they would send someone out to check it out and repair or replace. A week went by with no communication, and I reached out again. They informed me they had reached out to the actual owner of the unit. This process went on for over a month. No stove, causing expenses to prepare food elsewhere or order out. This was finally resolved close to Christmas. During this time, I was unable to make a rental payment and asked to postpone but no response so I was charged $175.62 in late fees. I had reached out to the owner, Mr. Leopard. After some back and forth dialect he had stated the company does not discount rent for the next month or refund late fees and it would come out of his pocket. However, I have not received that reimbursement. The new point of contact Sarah when she was asked by myself when I get my security deposit back, she stated I never paid one. However, around an hour later she stated she made a mistake. I am thankful she rechecked her sources. However, had she not I would be out that as well as the $175.62 in late fees for the month of December. She did inform me a cleaning fee would be assessed upon moving out. However, the unit wasn't what I would call clean, nor would my family who owns a cleaning company state the same. I could justify paying a cleaning fee out of my security deposit upon moving out had the unit been deep cleaned before coming in back in March. However, I can't justify making someone pay a cleaning fee for a basic surface level clean that is well below standard. The company may be great for some, and they may go above and beyond. However, I did not receive that treatment. Companies are built mainly on customer service and constant lines of communication. My advice as a former operations manager for a multibillion-dollar company. Invest in a training program. Doesn't have to be 6 sigma but a training session with a high-level focus of in-depth communication, team building, and conflict resolution. I do not know Mr. Leopard and I myself have read almost every review on here just to criticize but never offer a solution or advice on how to progress forward. Yes, I will share my negative experience. However, I still had a roof over my head every night. I believe the owner's heart is in the company and I am sure the workload is high level for him. However, the team he has around him needs to be evaluated on many various aspects. I do wish the company success.
