I wasn't expecting a tier one, first class experience here but I was hoping for kind of stepping back to my childhood experiences going to my drive in with my brothers and parents. It's one of a little over 300 drive-ins left in the U.S., and at 8,000 feet, it's the highest elevation drive-in theater in the country. The surrounding views are spectacular! We saw The Sheep Detectives, listening to it on 98.7 FM. The place was packed, and we had several wistful moments as we watched kids in pajamas snuggle into sleeping bags in the backs of SUVs. In full disclosure, I wore my jammies too. Even the food, while a tad pricey, was excellent in quality and taste. We sorta wish we could go back in time and bring our kids with us! They have one lane to enter and it cost $12 for adults. After parking I went to get some food and ended up getting their 1/4 lb hot dog and nachos with jalapeños. I didn't take a picture of it but it was a really good deal for $7 each. They also sold popcorn, candy, drinks, pretzels and more. They even offered radios to rent out if you don't want to drain your car battery. The movie was great to watch with clear picture and good sound. We found our theater with the help of one of the staff and given a run down on what to expect. Once we were in our seats one of the waitstaff came to our seats and greeted us and ask us if we needed anything. We took several minutes to review the menu and we were surprised to see that there were as many options on the menu for the location. I ordered the Carne Asada nachos and a soda. The food came out pretty quickly, and the movie had just started. Overall, the nachos were OK. The Carne Asada itself was in very small pieces that were pretty chewy and not as tender as you would expect for that type of meat/preparation. Enjoyed the movie and the experience overall would return, but would recommend some improvement with the Carne Asada.

They only take cash, which I found out getting some popcorn... but it was still pretty good popcorn when I finally got the cash. Was here on a Thursday night and there were about a total of 10 cars in the lot... plus people watching from the hotel.. I hope the get credit for those people... or hope that this place gets busy on the weekends...
