We went to Breck on a Monday and found the village to be really tame. I expected a lot more people and a hectic scene. The kid's ski school is right at the village and a super lift is there too. Dining, lockers, coffee and lodging are all there too. If you're feeling like a break from the slopes you can take a quick walk to Main Street to hit up a wide variety of places. A personal favorite is, Empire Burger. The Breck staff we encountered were really pleasant. Carmine (sp) from the ski school really went out of her way to welcome and make comfortable my kiddo on her first day ever on skis.

We tried all the obvious things but nothing worked. Internet seemed to work but nothing on TV from all input sources. We called to report Broken glass and microwave so they did not try to make us pay for already damaged items. We requested compensation and mgmt. offered 10% off on our next stay which since the rent was a fraction of the total ($241) came out to $5.31. We declined as unacceptable and decided to rate it as we found it - unacceptable. Unfortunately, after the fact we saw very negative reviews for the management by Summit County Management Retreat. Many of the negative reviews SCMR just replied saying the people were wrong. Very poor experience and our thinking was that if an inept mgmt. team were not involved the owner would be able to respond much better. We stayed in this building before and with direct contact with the owner greatly helped to get things straightened out right away. This mgmt. said they only respond to emergencies (we assumed like water, heat and power,) not tv or appliance failures. For the price paid I would 1). Never stay at this unit again. 2). Never stay anywhere managed by SCMR!

Despite the lack of cleanliness, the price was decent so I cleaned up what I could and we went about our vacation. Then nightfall happened. We experienced excessive screaming, laughter, fights and cussing, door slamming and adults coming in and out of the hot tub well into the early hours of the morning. There is a sign on the hot tub that says food or beverages aren't allowed in the area and that the hot tub closes at 10 p.m. There was a full on party going on around the hot tub with all of those rules being broken. No one came to shut the hot tub down at 10 p.m. I called the condo manager when it became very late and my children were struggling to sleep well after midnight, and they said it was not their concern and if I wanted it handled I could call the police. I asked them to call the police on my behalf, as I was from another state, didn't own the property, would be staying near the partiers for the next several days and didn't want any trouble. I just wanted my young kids to get some sleep. The manager was rude and refused, essentially mocking me. The next morning I went out to enjoy the hot tub with the kids and the area was trashed. There were alcohol bottles and cans everywhere, paper plates disintegrating in the water, the cover was left off overnight and the hot tub smelled terrible. It wasn't safe for the kids. We went back up to the room and figured they would come sometime in the morning to clean. Later into the afternoon it was still not cleaned. I called the condo manager to ask when they were coming to clean the hot tub and they said they would make a call. The hot tub was not ever cleaned before we left, so we never got to use it. Night after night it was the same story, hard to fall asleep because no one enforced the hot tub rules. Exhaustion made for a tough vacation for a few of us. If you have kids, heed my warning and save your sanity. There are condos within the same price range in the same neighborhood with way better reviews and amenities. The property manager for this condo does not care, will not enforce their rules, and doesn't clean the condos or the shared public spaces well.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The other highlight was that there is a gorgeous path and stream you can walk along behind the houses (and nearby hotel). It's picturesque and even has fish. I'm giving it only a 4 star review because when we arrived at the property we were surprised to find that our house sat on a corner overlooking a hotel and large parking lot. If we used our hot tub we were staring at the hotel windows and the parking lot. It was not scenic or at all private, which was disappointing, especially given the pricing for the property. They had other properties which were farther away from the hotel which would have been much nicer.

Day 2 we head out for a hike and notice a horrible smell in the basement form both bathrooms. We call to report that morning to paragon so someone can check it out. While we're gone I get correspondence from Paragon relaying they are sending out additional repairmen. Apparently something is wrong with the tank. I decided to call at 5pm as we'd been out all day hiking and having a late lunch to see if the bathrooms were usable. The staff communicate no water was to be run which meant no shower and no toilets. When I asked Paragon staff what type of compensation we would get for the major inconvenience, she responded...you should feel grateful the basement didn't flood. Apparently Paragon wasn't grateful we helped them by reporting the smell immediately?! As for that evening, it was the ONLY night we had reservations for a nice evening out to dinner therefore a shower was necessary. We return back to the house all windows and garage door wide open with all of our belongs inside without anyone making repairs. It was left open by the repairman, his response when he got back..."I was only gone for a little while." Oh and...it smelt like literal s**t!! The smell was nauseating! At this point we made efforts to arrange new lodging but everywhere was booked. Finally the repairs were made and everyone showered and we left for dinner. Upon returning home, we continued to endure the smell and left by 10am the next morning. After my flight home, I decided to call Paragon to get a nights credit. After spending over $2200, all paragon would do is reimburse us $450. They claimed we cannot reimburse taxes and fees. Needless to say I am not thrilled with the level of service nor refund from Paragon. I would not use them again they took no accountability and extremely dissatisfied with level of customer service. Paragon claims to rent high end properties how the service does not match.

Wrong assumption we've learned the hard way. on Dec 30th, 2018. We paid a top price on a 2-bedroom apartment for 5 days, and we regretted the moment the elevator door opened at the apartment floor. Licking stains on the wall, asphyxiating smoking smell and an unhanded looking hallway. The apartment 211 is a complete disappointment and a very low-bar offer by the Vail Resort Rentals: old old old, smell like old, the fridge makes a noise because it's from the 80s, stove and exhaust fan are also from the 80s, the bathrooms faucet, and shower are from the early 80s). The carpet is disgusting and the towels (stiff, small, and thin), pillows, and sheets lowest quality than from any Holiday Inn. This property could not be rented by Vail Resort Rentals, a company which supposedly provides good properties to rent,; instead, this property could simply be on Airbnb or vrbo, platforms that don't pretend to provide anything else than a means between landlord and tenants. For health issues, the smell is unbearable, trigging my husband's and my allergy. The smell is the non-negotiable item. Do yourself a favor, don't pay $999 per night here, don't trust the name this company used to inspire the customers, don't deal with "There's nothing we can do", "My manager has the day off today and tomorrow", "We've never had problems before", "I'll have the housekeeping take a look" (the housekeeping crew has a limit to what they are able to do in a 30+ year apartment). Instead, invest the exact same amount staying at The Marriot Vail Mountain Resort, a 5-star hotel for the same price. You will get what you want and the value your money worth. Most importantly, you will then enjoy your stay, be in a clean and healthy space, and be comfortable.
