Rather than spend time in the ER, where they would have had to call in a specialist, we consulted with an optometrist friend outside of the area that advised us to go see the team at VHC. We called the minute they opened and they fit us in before we had to leave to catch our flight. Dr. Martha Smith, O.D., and the team were phenomenal in assessing my son's injury and eased our worries about any permanent damage and issues with flying home. I'm happy to report that after a nice "shiner" for a few weeks he is back to normal!

Not having me or her father there to advocate for her, she had to attend this appointment by herself. She explained to him that they get so terrible that she often throws up and passes out. We instructed her to ask for an MRI, which she did. She was told no way is he sending her for an MRI for just migraines, gave her pills and told her to take for the rest of your life. That was it. When she was back in NYC for Christmas break we took her to a neurologist here. Two serious issues were found on her scan, both of which we will be following up with in New York. I'll start by saying Dr. Benda's bedside manner while treating a very nervous 19 year old girl was atrocious. Shame on this situation and you Dr. Benda, do better for the people that place their trust in you.

Super friendly and knowledgeable. He explains what he's doing during the eye exam without being overly complicated. He always explains any changes that have occurred since your last visit, instead of just saying "you need stronger contacts" or "you might have glaucoma, but I'm not sure" (I've literally had an optometrist tell me that once without even explaining what glaucoma is). He seems to really care about the patient's experience. The opticians and other staff are also very friendly and helpful. Like Jeff, they explain every process of the exam that they perform and don't act frustrated with you if they have to repeat a step because you couldn't stop blinking or whatever. The location is convenient and the office has a nice clean, modern feel. Appointments can usually be made with just a few days' notice and I have never had to wait more than five minutes. You can't go wrong with Key City Vision!

I was expecting more boutique and smaller batch cigars, and all they had was the same cigars I've seen everywhere else in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful but since there were no new sticks that I had never seen before, I didn't buy anything. There is no lounge or smoking area. This is also a gift store for things like whiskey, glasses, humidors, generally masculine gift items, which is pretty cool. Given the nature of their location in Galena, it's expected that their prices are higher than you would find in other areas and they are, so no big deal. I can't tell you how disappointed I am that a store sitting on the main drag in a tourist town, doesn't have any new sticks or sticks I haven't seen before.

I went looking for a bundle of sage, left with a gorgeous rose, sage & lavender bundle with a clear quartz point. Also was looking for a palm amethyst, and found the perfect one (my daughter actually picked it out without hesitation and held it nonstop). Been looking for some loose leaf tea in town, and tried one of their mixes as well (Wasn't what I was expecting, but I am so "green" to the loose leaf tea process that I own that only downfall of this otherwise amazing trip). I definitely want to go back and get one of their beautiful tea mugs that I almost added to my haul. I still want to go back for their zodiac perfume as well that I almost got on my first trip to their store, but wound up getting a gorgeous one-of-a-kind full moon sweater. That sweater to this day is still one of my favorite articles of clothings.
