I feel I should update my review. Almost exactly five years ago we purchased a new stove through Slager Appliances and my previous review outlines how that all went. From the selection, to the staff to the pricing. No complaints here. But alas, the oven stopped working as I went to pop in lasagna last week. UGH. My handy father-in-law checked it over-- the elements all worked, the stovetop worked, the back of it looked in fine order and your guess is as good as his on what is wrong. We had to bring in the professionals. I emailed Slagers (including when we purchased it, the model number, etc). They said the could fit us in and to give them a ring. We called on a Friday afternoon and they were able to fit us in Monday morning at 8AM. Huzzah. I was given an 8-10AM window and our technician, Nate, came right at 9AM. He was insanely knowledgeable and pleasant. He found the fix within ten minutes. He outlined the bill with me prior to leaving, as to ensure no surprised. Boom. Done. The appliance ownership that comes along with homeownership isn't always the easiest or glorious. They cost a lot and it's frustrating when something so insanely necessary for day to day life isn't working-- Slager Appliances has got you covered! read more

TERRIBLE DO NOT SHOP HERE!! I purchased a washer and was told a delivery date..I get the call to confirm the date and the time will not work. I advised a time frame that would work and waited 3 days for a proper time slot bit still don't get a time that would work. Lack of communication with deliveries. Installation didn't go well. Mason leading the installation was very rude and stated he couldn't install because our pipes are not the right size. He would need to contact a specialist from Bosch to have them come and use water resistant tape around our pipe to make a seal. Plumbing tape is less than $20.00 at Menards. Slager would rather delay an installation and charge for a second specialist than purchase $20.00 plumbers tape??? During the installation, the team wrapped power cords around the drain tube and placed the electric box under the pipe that they said was leaking. The pipe and connection wasn't leaking before they arrived. I'm also a bit curious why they would wrap electric wiring around a drain tube and leave the electric box under the part they identified as leaking. If I wanted to mess up my house, I wouldn't need to pay the $200.00 installation fee for an expert to do it for me. All around poor communication and installation. Would not purchase from them again. As I was writing this, my wife just informed me the installation team didn't even install one of the feet on the appliance. read more

Customer service is horrible. Once the sale is made, they could not care less about you. Good luck if anything goes wrong with your purchase. We will never recommend them or buy from them again. read more

Was hung up on multiple times while trying to solve a situation. Very poor customer service.

Ordered a dishwasher from Slager and paid in full. We were told over the phone they have the dishwasher and could expect to deliver within 10-14 business days. After a three weeks, we emailed Christina at Slager and found out the dishwasher was on a truck. A week later we contacted Slager and found out the dishwasher we ordered was backordered. They did not know when the dishwasher would ship but would contact us when it shipped. After another month, we contacted Slager again to find out the dishwasher still did not ship and they did not have an estimated delivery date, so we contacted the dishwasher manufacturer and spoke to one of their customer service reps. The dishwasher manufacturer rep said 'they can't guarantee that this would be our dishwasher, but one is scheduled to ship later that week.' We informed Slager of the expected shipping date and asked them to confirm. They did not confirm. When we finally set up the installation (3 months after the initial order), the installation folks refused to listen to our recommendations about how the floor below the counter is uneven and the dishwasher should not be bolted to the wall. Once they "installed" the dishwasher under the counter, they saw that the dishwasher was rocking back and forth and left a 3-4 inch gap between the top of the dishwasher and the bottom of the counter. Apparently the installation team was unaware the feet of the dishwasher are adjustable. They removed the dishwasher and told us they can't install as planned because they don't have the correct part to fit into our pipes. They want us to get a plumber to come and 'fix our pipes' before they come back to finish the installation. We gave up and are contacting a plumber friend to help us install the dishwasher. Don't pay until after delivery and don't pay for installation. Or... just use someone else. read more

Bought a wall oven on-line. Took them over a month to get it to me and if I had not contacted them to cancel the appointment, we probably still would not have it. Then they tried to charge me for installation of the oven after delivery, when they did not install it. If you are in a hurry to get an appliance, don't go to Slager. read more

Thanking Slager Appliance Repairman/Technician/Magician Nate! Just had Nate, the Slager appliance repairman here to repair our fridge. He was incredibly professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the problem, answered all my questions and fixed the fridge in about 15 minutes time (he had to exchange the fan motor). I am so thankful and impressed by this man! Also impressed by the person who took my call this morning, also professional, warm and courteous. Slager definitely has my business ! While this was just a "first world problem," I so much appreciate the way in which it was approached and resolved. There is NO quality service here, I returned a washer after paying 540 Down. My return money after the HELL they put me through was 355 of my money back, a manager said he was going to take 80 to put my old washer back in place, so I SHOULD have got AT LEAST 460 back. I got a whopping 355 BACK for their hell on earth "help" Avoid these SHYSTERS like the Plague. I should add I am fully disabled and on a fixed income of 800 dollars a month and cannot afford Any LOSS of income or I would become homeless and not be able to care for my 90 year old blind Father. I was flat out lied to by the Manager who said it would be 80 dollars only to carry the old washer back down the steps where I had to rehook it up myself. What a bunch of crooks. read more

Let me tell you!! Do not go with this place!! We had a less than 2 year old washing machine that has been out of commission for 3 months. I get it that the part is on back order but they did nothing to assist us or check back in. Ended up contacting GE and they offered us a new machine, very nice ! As for slager they get enough business from the builders in the area and really don't care about the little man. We were warned and didn't listen about how they do business. read more

Wow I just got off the phone with slager Appliance. They just told me that literally they didn't want the business. I was trying to get a frigerator moved. Since they did not sell that brand, they did not want anything to do with it. I also wanted to have the water line connected so it would be able to dispense water and make ice cubes. Apparently that is against the law now so I need to contact a plumber. It is what it is, sad. read more

My wife and I tried to purchase a dishwasher from Slager. They seemed enthusiastic at first and gave us a great deal on a Bosch dishwasher. I was informed that it would take 5-7 days to order the dishwasher, as they did not have the one we ordered on hand. However, after 16 days i received a phone call informing me that the model we ordered was back ordered and then no longer available. How does it take 2+ weeks to obtain this information. Slager was veyr unapologetic about the situation and only offered other models at over $200 the cost of the model we tried to purchase. Unacceptable and extremely inconvenient. My emails to the representative that helped us (who had the last name Slager) went unanswered. The next week we went to The Appliance Barn in Kolona on a Saturday morning and our new dishwasher at a very fair price was delivered to us on Tuesday afternoon. LESS THAN THREE BUSINESS DAYS! Do yourself a favor, don't darken Slager's door and make the drive to Kolona, just 15 minutes away. it will be worth your time. read more

I purchased a water filter from Slager for about $40 about four months ago. I checked my credit card statement this week to see a charge for $951.88 when I haven't been there since. At best, this is abhorrently sloppy billing causing someone else to innocently get an appliance at MY expense. At worst, this is criminally fraudulent behavior initiated to boost some rep's sale numbers during quarantine. I've cancelled the card and hopefully ducked the charge, but now Slager is ducking my phone calls leading me to wonder if it isn't the latter and more sinister explanation afoot, and if this isn't a business-as-usual pattern for them. I'm hoping to get resolution soon. read more

We will always shop at Slager for appliances. The sales staff has never been pushy and always makes recommendations within our budget. We recently purchased a Bosh dishwasher and paid to have them do the install. There were issues during the install (we had problems with our fuse box). Slager took care of us quickly and professionally. I cannot express enough how happy we are with these guys!!! It says a lot when a company steps up and makes things right when things do not go according to plan. I would pay a little more for an appliance from Slager vs. a "Big Box store" simply because I trust them to stand behind their product and workmanship. read more

We purchased a Dacor drop in stove and oven from them a few years ago. I picked the stove up with my truck. The stove had a damaged heater element, that occurred at the factory, they would not honor the warrantee to replace this, even when I showed them the damaged ceramic insulator. Then the plastic bezel on the front above the oven door developed a crack. I called them on the phone, I knew it was not under warrantee. They would not drop ship the replacement part to my home, which forced me to take time off work and drive from CR to IC to pick it up. What is wrong with your concept of customer service? I was not asking for you to install, or is this the problem? I assume you didn't make enough money. (the part was $180). But I paid for shipping of the item to your store. I'll use your show room to 'shop' for an appliance, but I will never purchase from your business ever again. read more

They re rude. Their business model is only about making money from the customer. I tried to explain to them they should offer different times when to call in, instead of telling us, and they immediately become defensive. Once in your home, they often act like they re doing the customer a favor, instead of being obsequious. They re over priced ( over$100,00 for just a visit, no courtesy, even if the repair took literally 3 minutes, and you re a long time customer). Instead of sending an invoice the service guy demanded collection on site. Petty, insecure, take offense for constructive criticism such as on how to adjust their business practice. I bought a few items from them over the years, never really felt treated with respect I deserve, at any time. read more

Slager Appliance has but nothing but exceptional. They gave me a good quote on a new refrigerator and came and installed it when it came in, as it was a special order. The technicians that installed it were efficient and cleaned up afterword. Great customer service! read more

Having purchased top of the line appliances at Slager Appliances we expected little to none service needs, but what we experienced was a lot of poor service. The core of our dissatisfaction is the their inability to diagnose problems with minimal service calls, numerous ordering parts before getting it "right" and the technician saying "it's fixed" when it wasn't. The Service Manager doesn't indicate that customer satisfaction or repeat business counts. There is a serious need for better managerial and technical skills. read more

I scheduled an appliance repair on 1/20, the only day I had off. Slager called to ask "if it was ok" to move my appointment to another day, because one of their techs was out sick. I explained I had no vacation time to take off on a different day and had scheduled the 20th for that reason, and asked if someone else could be moved instead. She said no, they were rescheduling all 'his' tickets. I asked if they had any other techs working that day that I could be switched to. She said no, after a hesitation that told me this wasn't really true. I said, "Really, you only have one tech? Then why are you moving 'his' tickets instead of all tickets?" She got short in her tone and told me she didn't have time to explain. Her manager had directed her to reschedule everyone. At this point it was clear that her original "is it ok?" had only one answer. She said the people who were scheduled for before Monday were having to wait, so no Monday person could stay with Monday--everyone was getting pushed forward. She then asked, in a snotty tone, whether I had purchased my stove from them. I said no, and she jumped on that with, "see, that's another thing, we have to serve OUR customers first." (I bought the appliance in a different state, btw, not from one of their competitors, which, given her tone, is what she appeared to assume.) I asked if I could speak with the manager. She said no, with finality. (Really? Who just says 'no' when a supervisor is asked for?) I said I would just go somewhere else then, and she seemed totally pleased with this. She instantly put on a happy voice and said, "good, you do that." Sooo many things wrong with this scenario. They obviously don't care one bit about customer service. read more

Since this posting, Slager management has contacted us, acknowledged the problem, and has adjusted the charge appropriately. We were impressed with their professionalism and we plan to do business with them in the future because they have proven themselves to be a responsible, local business. read more

I went here to look at a new dishwasher. Before I went in I compared prices with other local companies and online to have a point of reference. Not only were their prices spot on I worked with Tim and Adam and they were amazing, they walked me through what my options where and took the time to show me the features and benefits of each option and help me evaluate what I really needed. I was blown away at the level of service and honest care that they had. They installed my dishwasher this morning and I could not be more pleased, unlike most places they called me in advance with a realistic window of time they would be here and then called me when they were on their way. The whole experience was nothing short of fantastic. I have also had them service my refrigerator in the past and they were beyond excellent, providing me with on the spot service and consultation/advice. If you want a high quality product, with great service and pricing, hands down this is the place you should go. It's no wonder why they have been in business for so long.
