The man who runs the storage facility, Bill, was very professional, friendly, personable and was very helpful. I had called a few minutes before their closing time and Bill stayed on the phone and worked with me past their closing time to assist me in completing my order. The price was reasonable, very clean facility, well-lit after hours, clean bathroom for customers, and they had flatbed dollies in the halls for their customers to use. Bill also recommended to me their in-house moving company, Distinctive Moving and Storage, to move my belongings from the storage unit to my home garage. The move from the storage unit to my home garage was flawless. After dealing with a nightmare out of state move for months, it was a welcome change to work with Bill and not experience any issues whatsoever. Great example of top notch customer service. The person who rented me my unit was well informed and professional, showed me the 24-hour monitoring service, and explained that each unit not only has a lock, but an alarm that is deactivated when you use your code to enter the facility, and re-activated when you use your code to leave the facility. I was also able to use their big truck for free to move in my things. Simply put, I've had a good experience with them.

Everything seemed ok at first but then we started having issues. No one would be in the office at opening time. When the phone was answered the gentleman and/or sometimes older sounding lady had no idea what was going on or how to charge a credit card or change payment. We rented the truck and the same frazzled strange man helped us. He would not move the truck out or put it back into the small place where it is parked. He was unsure how to handle the billing. We left with no paperwork and nothing saying a transaction had occurred. When we did our final move out we noticed that water had leaked, I think gushed is a more appropriate term, in the corner of one of the units. In that corner was all the family photos, scrap books, keep sakes, collectible magazines and a box of high quality winter wool socks and some underwear. The frazzled, strange guy who was there said he would take photos, call the manager and let him know and he was sure they would "do something" for us. We left the moldy, mildewed mess in the unit and waited for a call the next day. No phone call. We drove over and spoke to the manager Ralph. He was rude, dismissive and just plain ugly. He refused to even listen, much less help. We had to go into the office several times to speak with him because he would just walk away while yelling. He said he had not been informed about the situation. However, he let slip that he had seen the photos the owner/employee had taken the day before. He not only did all these things but he then takes our code out of the system. We paid for a full month of service. If I want to check to make sure everything is out of the unit, now I can't. So not only did all this happen but he shorted us a day without a refund. So we lost very personal, irreplaceable memories and Ralph could care less. This could be the worst place ever to store your things. Either the unit leaked during one of the heavy July thunderstorms or when Jimmy's Minis cleaned out the gutters in June water got in. We were not asking for anything crazy in recompense. The way we were treated is just ridiculous. We don't want others to go through this. Ralph went from friendly to rabid dog status in a snap. We had wanted to support local business but it looks like the big storage corporations are just more reliable. We won't make the same mistake again and we hope you don't either. And I'm hoping the owners read this as well. The manager told us never to in on Wednesday because the guy who worked that day was incompetent. He was not even allowed a password or access to the computer system. What kind of business is this guy running. And then to talk about an employee like that. Hopefully the family who owns this business will do some house cleaning.

Beware that they clearly state that non-approved vehicles/persons can "tailgate in" behind another vehicle to access the property and access YOUR belongings illegally. They state they are not monitoring this activity, despite the massive security camera presence. This issue could have been alleviated had they simply asked for a photo ID of the tow truck driver claiming to be ME!!! Or calling ME (who pays the monthly storage fee) to verify I was having said vehicle towed away. But no! It never happened. "Please understand this, the tow truck company could have tailgated in, took the vehicle and tailgated out, this is something I would have had no control of, after speaking to your brother last night I feel that one way or another the Blue Cadillac was being towed off our property yesterday with or without my knowledge. One last thing, the towing company did not need our assistance, they knew exactly where to go to, which car to pick up and tow away, also they knew where to take the vehicle." Don, the owner, really goes out of his way to make sure you are a happy customer. The employees are all very helpful as well. they really go above and beyond. We looked at Public Storage and was unimpressed. I continued looking and found Brassfield due to its proximity to Duke. I couldn't be happier with the summer storage unit. The units are climate controlled, the 2nd month is free, they offer a moving van to assist in your move at no extra charge, really, really amazing!! The units look new, and the facility is very well maintained. I will continue storing at Brassfiled over the summer for the duration of our daughter's college years. Thank you!!!

On top of all those perks the rates are affordable. Cheaper than Uhaul with more perks. We ended up renting a storage unit that was too small. After business hours the area manager saw us struggling and let us move into a bigger storage unit really close to our old one. He told us he'd hate to see us move our stuff twice and to go by the office the next day to update the contract. He saved us from moving into two storage units. Absolutely amazing customer service.

I wanted to rent the areas , but I wanted to see them first. The lady at the desk said she was not able to show them. A few other customers before me walked out also. I said I want to see the size and secure one today. She said she did not have access???? Come on ..... if you work there you should have access . If they are having problems of an employee not having access what about the clients that want to get in to their storage area and are not able to gain access ? On to the next place. More than one storage places here. Very disappointed. How can you do business this way.
