Awful experience with Leigh Ann Howell this past weekend. She lacks the professionalism and morals to own such a business. Would have loved to speak on a better situation maybe Mr Sledge could actually hold up to his business name instead of allowing a company to be tarnished. Being in business for a long time is a fantastic achievement however the negative reviews and reality speak for themselves. Empathy goes a long way and Leigh Ann Howell is unable to comprehend or communicate effectively. We had to use the Madison Police Department as a form of communication instead of being an adult. Edit: What an odd response to make as a business to mention the tragic loss of my home on Christmas when that has nothing to do whatsoever with my review at hand. Hydroplaned and drove my car into the median to avoid an 18 wheeler. Car was fine, but stuck in some water so i had it towed by this company. Instead mistake. They said hed drop it off at the gas station 2 min away. I was escorted by a cop to the gas station but the truck never arrived. After calling twice, and being advised it would be another 30 min each time, we called a third time to get a raging woman who said they NEVER drop things off ANYWHERE but the trucker site and that i couldnt even get TO the car until tomorrow. I DONT LIVE HERE. I live HOURS away and have several possessions in the car, as I am moving north. WHAT DO I DO?? Also she said both bumpers are gone and all tires are slashed, which was incorrect (i was literally there). Only the front fender was damaged (which was already damaged due to a prior accident). Over an hour and a half later by the way, is when we were FINALLY advised to get in tomorrow.. As to the owners reply: If I can get the officers footage, I can prove otherwise, since your serviceman advised me i could have it towed to Loves for full towe price. I had an 1981 Corvette that would not start. I needed it moved from where it was on the side of a street to my garage. Jacob came out at the time requested and took great care in loading and scruring the older care. He delivered to my houe and since the drive way was too small for the tow truck he helped me push it into the garage. Highly recommend these guys. My husband's vehicle was towed from a gas station by this company. Once we were able to get in contact with them, The lady that answered the phone spoke to my husband as if he were a child! She kept cutting him off whenever he spoke not allowing him to ask questions, and when I called she treated me the same way. She asked my husband "why are y'all always throwing money away?". I'm so confused as to why she even asked this... we aren't disrespectful people, we didn't care about the price, we just wanted to know how we could get the vehicle. Once we arrived the place just radiated with "we're racist" vibes! They didn't even speak to us. These people aren't friendly... Yes our vehicle was towed but why are YOU upset? Sledge's Towing is not open 24 hours. If they answer, you will get a horrible rude person named LeeAnne who isn't interested in taking your payment to release your vehicle. They are only available to pick up vehicles. Then, they find excuses to hold your vehicle to accrue more charges. They charge $100 per day to 'hold' your vehicle. If it's a holiday, they will say they are 'closed for 4 days' due to the holiday. All the while charging you $100 per day to 'hold it for the holiday'. Family owned business who live on site. Yet will not release your vehicle because they "aren't there on site". Total scam con artist. MS has got to have laws to protect their citizens from these people. They have no website. They will not give you an estimate of what they charge per day. You are completely at their mercy. read more

If I could rate this a zero I would without a doubt.This tow company is very unprofessional. The manager is very rude and will charge unnecessary fees. They will try to give you the run-around when trying to recover your vehicle. I would highly not recommend this place!! read more

After a friend's motorcycle accident, I contacted Sledge's Wrecker Service about retrieving the bike from their storage yard. The person who answered the phone was very rude and unhelpful. I was informed that the only way they would release the bike was if the owner was there in person. I explained that, while he was home from the hospital, he was in a wheelchair and unable to make the trip in person. Further, they said if he couldn't be there in person, I would need a signed, notarized letter authorizing the release of the motorcycle. I explained that, being wheelchair bound, if he couldn't get to them, he couldn't get to a Notory Public either. I then enquired how much per day he was being charged for storage. It was at this point where they hung up on me. My friend, the bike owner called them himself and received the same treatment. His second call was to his attorney...I would avoid this business if at all possible! read more

We needed a gallon of gas just 8 miles from the truck stop. I was told it would be $166 to bring it. We were desperate so we paid upfront. I was told that was the price for gas or tow. Fine. When the driver showed up he demanded more money. I am calling my lawyer. This is straight up illegal. read more

I was stuck on the Natchez Trace, pulling an airstream. They came and got my truck, my airstream, and went above and beyond to get me safely back on the road, including getting both vehicles to Firestone for new tires, and then even making sure I was taken care of when Firestone was dropping the ball.
