When out on tour with the Jokers and Jester Comedy Tour we stay in a lot of hotels. The check-in was smooth and easy. The room was equipped with all essentials and very clean. Would recommend this to any traveler. read more

This is a newer hotel... It is ok... the room was nice but a tad pricey for a sleep inn. Spending a lot of time in hotels this one smelled like cleaner but did not give me the feeling of being clean. they do miss the point that they are in the hospitality business because everyone seems to be in a bad mood or just not friendly. It might have been worth the drive to wheeling. read more

My family tends to choose a Choice Hotel when we have to stay overnight during a long drive due to a combination of quality and affordability. This Sleep Inn is the nicest of all the Choice hotels we've stayed at over the years. The front desk staff were friendly at check-in and advised us of several restaurants that offered a dining discount if we showed our room key. One of those shares the parking lot with the hotel, so it was easy to walk over (and not need to get back in the car after a long day stuck in it). The room was very comfortable with a king bed, walk-in shower, and microwave and fridge. The room temperature was nice--not freezing or stuffy-- upon entering. Our room was near the elevator, so the bell was a little loud but didn't keep us up. The breakfast bar was the nicest one I've ever seen-- strong AND regular coffee as well as numerous herbal teas like chamomile were available. Sausage and biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, muffins, danishes, bagels, bread slices for toasting, fruit, yogurt, cereals and milk were all available for several hours that accommodated more than just early risers. A lot of the gas and oil employees working in the area stay there, so management has a boot cleaning station with boot covers in the lobby. The workers can track in a lot of mud due to the conditions in which they work, so it's clear the management stays on top of any housekeeping issues. The hotel was especially clean in every aspect. If there was any complaint to identify, it would be lack of a pool or sauna, which is a benefit, not a necessity for a good night's rest. This hotel will become a choice stop when traveling through the area in the future. The kindness of the employees, attention to details of the staff, and comfort of the spaces were appreciated and will be remembered and recommended to others. read more

The hotel does not present with many amenities, but actually has everything you need for a restful stay. We were pleased with the cleanliness, kind staff, and surprisingly good breakfast options. It is close to main attractions, such as the West Virginia Penitentiary, Grave Creek Mound, and Palace of Gold. They even provided a discount for some local restaurants. I found nothing at all unpleasant here. Check in was easy friendly staff Clean room comfortable bed . Plenty of fresh coffee wonderful breakfast spread enjoyed the outdoor covered seating area .: was delightful. This is not a 2 Star I've stayed at 2 star hotels that are not anywhere near as welcoming and clean as this place I would say it is a 3 star at very least . The price is high for a overnight stay the surrounding area is not great . But outside of price 10/10 read more

I'm fairly sure that I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. For a hotel, that's about as good as you can get, right?! I loved the no-smoking atmosphere and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. I want to say that if there was a "new hotel smell" (like "new car smell"), that would be what it was like! No funky cleaners or whatnot. The continental breakfast had the usual suspects, but it's always great to see a Belgian Waffle maker! (Even better when there are chocolate chips close by...) The coffee was great and the fruit was fresh. Staff members were very friendly. The view from our room was a little weird (B-Dubs, ha ha) but the room was extremely comfortable. The only somewhat negative comment is for the bathroom. The swinging door for the shower seemed to allow a lot of water to get out and onto the floor, and there wasn't a convenient place for towels nearby, so the floor was wet and I had to walk through it to get my towel. A minor inconvenience, and I'm not sure how those issues could be fixed. I still admit that I like the layout of the bathroom and the style of the shower anyway. A solid experience overall. I'd definitely recommend to those who are passing through or on more extended stays! read more

I had read the previous ad about poor service but I decided to give them a shot. However when I walked in an employee was outside on the bench texting. There was no one at the desk. I waited and I waited. I even had an urgent need to use their bathroom in the lobby which I did. I then came back to the desk. Still no one there. I walked down the hallway and into the breakfast lobby. No employees. My husband had walked in by then to see what was going on. Still no employee. On our way out the employee (housekeeping I think) I asked her and she said someone was working and she said yes but didn't offer to get up to go check on it. By then I told her never mind we'd go elsewhere and we did. Somebody had better get this hotel straightened out. read more

We had originally planned to stay in wheeling but apparently the hotels there regularly fill up Monday-Wednesday (?). We quickly booked nights here but read the reviews after we were done and got nervous. We were pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff were very nice and attentive. Room was clean, shower was huge! Breakfast buffet is out by 5:30am ( I believe a lot of their clientele are contractors/highway maintenance) there are not very many choices in the area but this was great for what it was. read more

This hotel is very new and it shows. Everything is clean and fresh. The staff are friendly and efficient. Rooms are a good size and modern. The bathroom is HUGE! Each room also contains a microwave and mini fridge. Free hot breakfast is served each morning. The breakfast area is large and there is plenty of seating in the dining area. Options for breakfast included cheese omelets, sausage, bacon, potatoes and waffles. The usual cold items of cereal, yogurt, pastries and fruit were also present. The hotel is right next to the Wal-Mart and many dining options, such as Buffalo Wild Wings. If you're coming to the Moundsville area, you can't go wrong staying here. read more

Nice, clean, new hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable rates. In Moundsville, it's a 4-star hotel, solid 3-star even in a bigger city. Free hotel breakfast & free wifi, better towels than you'd expect at other comparable hotels, microwave & refrigerator in room. Well lit parking lot next to Walmart. Judging from the parking lot, the hotel is popular with oil field or fracking contractors. Do not let this discourage you, the staff is keeping the hotel very clean. read more

I stayed here alone for 5 weeks for a school rotation and I was super impressed with every aspect of the hotel. It was so clean and always smelled fresh and inviting. Every employee I came into contact with was nice and helpful. The breakfast was great. Housecleaning services were excellent. The fitness center was good enough to meet anyone's needs during a short stay. Also note I am a female in my early 20s and the pipeline workers being there didn't bother me one bit. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! read more

First let me say I am completely aware that Covid has really threw our nation for a loop and everyone is doing the best they can under the circumstances. With that being said I do personally extend alot of grace to business's trying to still stay afloat and keeping their customers safe. However I believe it should work both ways a little give and take on both sides of the customer business relationship. However I do not feel Sleep Inn makes any effort to meet in the middle. The price remains the same but yet you receive limited amenities. Due to Covid I understand breakfast cannot be buffett style as before however the breakfast attendant makes it very clear you are disturbing her break when you go down at the allotted breakfast time. Everytime the kids and I would go to breakfast she was sitting there without a mask on and say " oh I was resting hold on let me get my gloves and mask on" and then proceed at a snails pace to retrieve ypur breakfast. I can handle that to a degree what I cant handle is she was very selfish with the food. I ask for biscuits and gravy and I got a half a biscuit and maybe a teaspoon of gravy. This happen every morning... The pastries were frozen and hard as a brick each morning. This was never a issue in the past. So if the breakfast service is going to remain horrible at least change the price on the rooms to reflect this. This will allow for extra cash to go to breakfast else where maybe you can at least get full and your moneys worth somewhere else. I cannot wait for the Holiday Inn to open. Joni at Sleep Inn has become very arrogant and figures she has the market sewn up in that area for Hotels and she absolutely refuses to make any accommodations. 5 of had 2 rooms for a week. Found that a lot of drilling workers stay there but you would never know it. It's very quiet, smells fresh & clean all the time. Staff is scrubbing floors & cleaning constantly. Breakfast was always fresh & aplenty, staff was friendly & helpful. Good stay for all us. Thank you read more

Very disappointed. We stayed here a couple years ago and we were extremely impressed . We were sorely disappointed this time. The room was filthy. I will warn you don't pull night stands out to plug anything in or you may get lucky like we did and find dirty socks and half eaten piece of pizza. The ice bucket had what appeared to be a dead fly in it. When I went to address the issue's on 3 different occasions the front desk clerk was outside smoking as she did the majority of the night. So I gave up getting any resolution. The next morning for breakfast we arrived at 7 and was immediately told it will be awhile before more food will be ready as the breakfast clerk then resumed texting on her phone. After waiting 20 minutes we gave up headed to McDonald's. I could go on and on in a nutshell I paid close to 200 a night for this type of service. My wife and I were in town for our granddaughters wedding so we endured this horrible experience. I will say I seen a Holiday Inn is being built in 2020. I am very happy because we will have some where else to stay. I think Sleep Inn is arrogant and never had competition so they get by with these horrific condition's. I hope Holiday Inn excels above and beyond. read more
