Trainee was nice at check-in & hallway smelled fresh. First room was bad: smelled like B.O. & bathroom smelled like pee & floor was dirty. So back to desk for a new room.. which was a tad better. Had a burnt food smell and toothpaste spit all over the faucet and handle. Chair was atrocious, fridge looked pretty rough, maybe it needs a paint job or cleaning. We cracked the window & screen was ripped like a person went thru it. Gave it 2 stars b/c it had hot water w/ good pressure & the bed was comfortable w/ decent pillows. We weren't gonna eat breakfast so can't review that but went to get hot cocoa for daughter & coffee grounds were in the hot water. So I told attendant & she said try the other one in the breakfast room. But we found the same problem there and she blamed the night crew for not cleaning it out.. So we just left. Evidently, they need better management over cleaning procedures. read more

One of the most pleasant stays I've had in a hotel for a long time. Rooms were clean, modern, bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows, AC was quiet and worked well, shower's water pressure was excellent. Nice little breakfast that had everything I needed. On-site laundry takes coins or card. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet area of town; there is a Burger King and a convenience store across the street within walking distance. The property was festively decorated for the Easter holiday too. Highly recommend. read more

The best thing about this overnight stop was the staff. Genuinely friendly, happy folks. In my long experience in the service industry I know a lot of the attitude of the employees filters down from the management, so I'm thanking that person too! The rooms are cozy, clean and up to date. I always get a 2 bed room so I have a choice, it seems like one bed is always more comfortable. Except for waffles the breakfast is cold cereal, bagels, toast, boiled eggs and yogurt which is enough to get you going in the morning. I've added this motel to my list of good places to stay! I stayed at Sleep In Beaver WV on my trip to Georgia in December 2025. It was convenient to access from the highway. I talked to receptionist Sue that night. She was very friendly and helpful. Before arriving at the hotel shortly I had walked my 2 dogs in the dark in a field, accidentally fallen in a hole filled with water and was soaked to my skin. I told Sue what I had done and she offered to wash my clothes! The room I stayed in was clean and neat and the bed and pillows were quite comfy. I am 76 and have celiac and was quite comfortable with my choices for breakfast. I go to Georgia every winter and will be staying at this hotel as I drive midway from Ohio from now on. read more

Wow, what a difference time makes. My experience this weekend was terrible at the Sleep Inn. I've stayed here three previous times, all on my way to Pennsylvania. First shock came when I booked the trip - this location used to be $71 per night. I paid $302 to stay here for TWO nights. Omg. Anyway, I figured the devil I know is better than the devil I don't, so I booked the room. Started off badly as the front desk lady was very rude, told me they were out of Choice rewards and said I don't even have bottled water for you. Ok. No big deal. Room was just meh, not very clean and the bathroom walls had mismatched paint patches. TV did not work at all. We tried everything. Called front desk three times, no answer! Went down and waited for someone to appear at the unmanned front desk... She finally showed up and told us she couldn't fix it, switched us to a different room. Ugh. Long story, won't stay here again. Worth $70 a night. $150 a night, not a chance in hell. Rooms are very worn down now and bathrooms are on verge of gross. read more

Don't stay here. Don't make reservations, unless you're a mind reader, if for some reason your trip is canceled and you cancel your reservations they have to be made the day before you actually make them!! Ludicrous cancellation policy!! Their website reads "free cancellation" that is if you know a day before you're going to cancel it. I've traveled the country over from coast to coast never have I ever heard of a cancellation policy that you're required to do a day a head of time. read more

I'm often a little hesitant about these mid-range hotel chains, but this was my 2nd good experience at a Sleep Inn just this summer. They toe the line between fine amenities and affordability, a comfortable sweet spot that fits the bill when your travel objective is just to get a decent bed for the night. Got three rooms late one night on the way to NC. Service was great (at 11:30pm and in the morning), rooms were fine. Furniture and carpet is old but we slept great. They have breakfast, too (but we opted to go to the biscuit spot across the street). Left our stuff in the car all night with no issues. For $70 a night, I got exactly what I needed - a place to sleep, shower, and grab breakfast in the morning before exploring New River Gorge NP. I'll add that this has a bit of outdated features - mostly in the chipped paint in the walls, or the malfunctioning water fountain, or the musky A/C unit, or the other issues with the walls in the hallway (aka there's nothing "flashy") but then again, I get what I paid for. Would highly recommend if looking to explore the southern portion of the national park - lots of nearby grocery stores, drug stores, and local restaurants in the area as well - just a few short minutes away via car. A perfect example of you get what you pay for. Updated rooms that were relatively clean. The big problem was the shower which had a huge gap at the bottom of the door, when you showered it would flood the bathroom. We had to angle the shower head towards the wall, which made showering difficult. The office chair was broken, if you leaned back you would end up on the floor. So my wife and I arrived 2 hours before check in... drove 15 hours since yesterday. Melissa at the desk was so amazing! I told her i understand if rooms weren't ready and we had our dog, i told her we could go putz around if need be. Well she wasn't only kind enough to get us a room that was ready, she gave us a room RIGHT by the back door so we could get our dog out and back in quickly. We have traveled across the country in the past couple of weeks and this is by far the worst property we have stayed at! Downstairs hall smells extremely musty and our room smelled very strong like mold. Window was locked so it could only be opened a couple of inches. It may be that the AC units needed cleaning, and/ or carpets needed replacing. Hard to tell. Otherwise room was clean. Breakfast was waffles or cereal. No fruit, or anything else. Being the last leg of the journey on vacation, as I walked in to check in the evening clerk greeted me with a smile Said she would be right with me, there was one other in front of me. Got the keys to the room came up to the room, the television would not come on with the remote, went down got the night clerk, he came up we finally had to turn in television on manually with the button behind the set. This is a decent place to crash for the nice if you find yourself in the Beckley/Beaver area. Other than a Biscuitland (or Biscuitville, or Biscuitworld or something like that ...), there really aren't any restaurants nearby without a 10-minute drive into Beckley. They do have a Domino's Pizza that will deliver to the hotel if you don't feel like venturing out. Pros - the staff here are very friendly. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet had a decent selection of options (fruit, muffins, bagels, make your own waffle station, cereal, yogurt). Free wifi. Cons - there doesn't seem to be a lot of soundproofing between the rooms. We were on the first floor, and the noise from the hallway and adjoining rooms was extremely loud. We could hear people in the room next to us like they were in our room, and every time someone knocked on another door near our room, our door rattled. My parents were on the 2nd floor, and they had to listen to loud noises from an HVAC unit downstairs all night. It didn't make for a great night's sleep. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! I would rate less than a one if it were possible. Check in was smooth, and facilities are a little dated, which doesn't bother me as I've stayed in Sleep Inns before across the country and have never had a problem. However, once we got to the hotel there was black mold in the bathroom, the room reeked of cigarette smoke, and what could only be described as a domestic dispute and screaming + slamming of doors across the hall. It felt extrmely unsafe, and as someone with sensitive lungs, we could not stay somewhere with black mold. We went down to the check in counter not 30 minutes after we arrived, gave our complaints, and the associate said she would address the noise. We asked about a refund since we had left less than 30 minutes after our arrival and check in, and were told to contact the manager the following day. We attempted to call the manager for the next THREE days until she was finally in four days later. Once we did get a hold of her, she began screaming at my boyfriend and I on the phone saying that we were lying and that we wouldn't receive a refund, and once I said she was yelling, she gaslit us and told us she had not yelled. I informed her that we would be contacting the BBB and charging back our credit card, to which she replied "be my guest!". As someone who worked in customer service for over six years, this was absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I should've listened to other reviews who said they had complaints and the manager gaslit them and refused a refund, even with pictures!!! Stay somewhere else!!! read more

Had to change rooms three times. First room was a non-smoking room that smelled like a casino. We were given keys to a different room and as soon we walked in the smell of mold and mildew was overpowering. Upon some investigation we found the ac unit was covered in mold. Third time was the charm and the third room did not seem to have any issues. The desk worker was very polite and gave us a discount. Unfortunately I recommend going to another hotel to avoid having to switch rooms. I will not be staying here again. read more

I had never stayed at a Sleep Inn so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It looked like the most decent hotel in the area on the budget that I was working with. I booked the room for $89/night so I wasn't really expecting too much but I figured it was only one night so if it was terrible I wouldn't be there long. WOW was I impressed!! It's definitely value for your money. The room was very clean and modern. The shower area is small but it's nice and updated. The bed is very comfortable and the rooms contain a refrigerator and microwave which is a necessity for me since I'm on the road all of the time. We've stayed here twice-- last year and this. Nice new-ish motel with new decor and clean comfortable beds and flat screen TV, microwave and fridge in room. Shower stall only with bath. Breakfast bar with full options- scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, donuts, yogurt, cereal, bananas and apples and all get refilled regularly by attentive staff. Overall very quiet and we were close to the lobby and it was a Saturday night. So that's saying something... Very close to Grandview State Park (1 exit east) and easy access to i-64 read more

Reasonable rates, comfortable beds, and nice showers. The staff was super-friendly, and even kept breakfast out late for us one day when we overslept. The only disappointment was that housekeeping didn't make the bed for us. It was a small thing, but I love how they reset the room and make the bed perfectly. This place was great! I had to stay because of a death in the family. I just can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay.. my husband was so happy with his breakfast every morning. They had yogurt, apple, banana, instant oatmeal's and scrambled eggs, waffle, sausage.. too much to name.. cookies every evening and coffee 24hrs which I very particular appreciated. We stayed on second floor, be ready to take steps.. no elevator here. No problem for us. This may not matter to anyone else, but the window in our room opened (#224) I can only assume that all of the second floor windows open. It was August we left the window open the entire time! It was so nice breath the fresh county air!! It was so quite too. I think the other the side of the building would get a better view of sunsets, so if we every say there again we will request that part of the building on the second floor.. thank you sleep inn for a pleasant stay. read more

Clean room. Good breakfast (don't get there late!). Interior recently remodeled and the shower is very cool but the one in our room leaked onto the bathroom floor. The rooms are really too small for two beds, the one by the window was less than 8 inches from the air conditioner. All in all, big bang for the buck. read more

My husband I stayed the night as we couldnt make the remaining 4.5 hr, of 10 hr, drive home. We arrived at 11pm to a dark lobby from the outside. As we put the car in park the lights suddley came on. The night clerk had his shoes kicked off and was watching TV or sleeping on the couch-shaking that off, we checked into our room. The hotel lobby was a bit unkept/dated/old but we were exhausted and assumed the room would be better as the reviews and photos were not bad. We were wrong. Globs of hair/dust balls lined the hall and clearly had not been vacuumed in DAYS. Our room carpet was the same... hadnt been vacuumed in days. I made my husband stay in the hallway with the door opened while I checked for bugs. No bugs but I did have to eliminate a few daddy long-legs. We wish we had paid the additional $50 for the Fairfield Inn. Do yourself a favor and spend the additional $.
