This is my third stay here and it's awesome every time. At this price point ($100) I want simple, clean, comfortable, safe and quiet. The Sleep Inn goes way beyond that. The staff is super nice and the breakfast is a big step up. The entire hotel is clean and organized. Prior stay: This is my second sleep inn in as many days and I think I've finally found my go-to hotel. This one is just as nice as the other and the staff are just as friendly! Stayed on Good Friday, paid way more than what it was worth, but it was one of the few left in the area last minute. If the expression "lipstick on a pig" applied to a hotel it's this one. The staff being nice and the linens and bed were clean, but that was about it. Our room had a terrible smell of moisture when not properly dried, it was musty or moldy smelling and the carpet was almost sticky to the feel. When I said something to the front desk about the smell , she stated that sometimes when it rains the bottom floor rooms have that smell! I was given lysol and scented spray. There were patches of paint missing, water spots in ceiling, the paint on the sliding bathroom doors was peeling And the light fixtures were rusty. read more

We relocated to another hotel at midnight. 8/24/23, heard from manager, they found no bugs in our room, and spray each month. No refund. Choose somewhere else. read more

This place was nice for an overnight one of the best things about staying at a Choice hotel Sleep inn is the hot breakfast you can't ask for more. It will fill you up with good food and grab some fruit and yogurt to go this alone saves you a 20$ breakfast somewhere else. read more

I booked a room here through priceline.com shortly after midnight. I needed a room for that night. I arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later to find out they were completely full and my reservation was actually made for the next night. Within 30 minutes of making the reservation I contacted priceline about the mistake and they refused to refund my money. They said they would contact the hotel owner to see if he would agree to a refund. Apparently the owner refused to give my money back even though I did not stay there. Extremely bad customer service! I can only imagine the other bad business practices this greedy business does. I encourage anyone considering staying here to go across the street to Motel 6 where the rooms are cheaper and staff are friendly. read more

The positives are the front desk attendant was very pleasant. The breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable. But what turned the whole experience terrible was that the cleaning staff did not clean our room very well. Our room reeked extremely badly of cigarette smoke and there were ashes on the floor. No one in my family slept very well because of it. We tried to change rooms but no other rooms were available. I would highly recommend if they got a new cleaning staff, but a staff that can't even recognize cigarette smoke and attempt to get rid of it before guests check in, no way!! read more

We were on the way to Myrtle Beach, when we stopped for some shut-eye after our exhausting day. We arrived at 12:30 AM, and the staff were so kind, and welcoming. The citrus water was so sweet and delicious, the breakfast was so scrumptious, the bed was so relaxing; I fell asleep within seconds, and the tea was so good and kept me awake the whole way to MYR! The hotel is totally renovated, nice sitting area with fresh fruit and water with lemon available 24 hours a day. The rooms and hotel has been totally renovated and upon cleaning each room The rooms have an automatic spray which kills all the germs. Upon walking in the room smell fresh. The room is nicely decorated with bright colors and the bathrooms have stated of our toilets and brand-new showers. The breakfast was excellent, offered a variety of choices. My only complaint was that breakfast stopped at 9:30 and not 10. We will definitely return here next year. The staff was friendly and nice and it was over off very pleasant well worth the money. A two star rating is rare from me. Wish I could give a higher rating. The good stuff: Front desk clerk was friendly. Bed was Comfortable, room quiet, wifi worked well. Very reasonable room rate. The bad: My room had the tv resting upon a piece of cardboard. A co-worker told me that he found the same thing in his room. Breakfast bar had very little selection and wasn't kept clean or replenished. No hot foods, no eggs, just cereal & breads. Hall carpet was taped in one end, patched in another, and looking like it really needed to be replaced. Property really needs attention to a whole lot of little things, or this will be a place you will want to avoid. read more

I'm actually shocked at the low Yelp reviews! From the old pictures still on Yelp and the dates of the reviews, I'm thinking the renovations we encountered in December 2015 were done in the last half of 2015. The hotel only cost $80 with tax for 4 adults and 2 beds, and it has free wifi, breakfast, regular and RV/large vehicle parking, and a (very small) fitness center. That made it easy to overlook the negatives: the breakfast has no hot foods and is pretty crappy, and the sink is in the bedroom instead of behind a door in order to accommodate the small bathroom with only a standing shower, with a pocket door that wouldn't fully close. To get to our room (321), we also had to walk past smoking rooms, which they have podded together to keep the smoke from the non-smoking rooms. The hotel looks nice and newly renovated as soon as you enter. Nice elevator up to the third floor to a small, but nice room overall. I doubt I'll ever be out this way again, but I'd definitely stay here again for the price. read more

If you're planning on booking this hotel, take a pause. This is Wytheville, an important midpoint for many travelers, especially my friends from Ontario. If you plan on sleeping past 0700, this hotel will not work out for you. Housekeeping comes by extremely early, ignoring do not disturb signs and begins slamming doors very, very early in the morning. Each time a door slams, it is likely the wall inside your room will rattle. Using earplugs to combat the noise? Sure, that sort of works, but you can't drown out booms and bangs that come along with the noise. Rooms are mediocre and if you're looking for a comparable Choice Hotel family member, I strongly recommend the Comfort Inn off Holston Road over this one. On a king bed, this hotel uses four of those tiny square pillows that feel so cheap you'd think they're stuffed with CVS cotton balls. The front desk staff is above average and the only place where this hotel shines. If you're a trucker, there is truck parking, albeit limited and a bit tight. The location is right off I-77, although it isn't very easy to get to from I-81 southbound; you can only appreciate that if you've tried it. read more

Now I know what a ZERO STAR motel is like. Help was less then helpful. Rooms were less then roomy. The room stunk. Probably an ex-smoking room and they were trying to cover up the smell with eau du skunk. This place is old. It's at least 40 years out of date. The shower stall in the bathroom (no tub) was like a big white egg that you stood in the middle of. The stream of water from the shower was merely a dozen trickles. The shower heard was stationary. We had a devil of a time finding this place. Even our GPS apps (all three of them) could not find it. It was so far out of the way it was unbelievabe. It was actually kind of creepy being so far into the woods and off the beaten path. PSYCHO type of creepy. I think they were using desposable toilet seats. I've never seen one made of such cheap thin flimsy plastic before in my life. Now, I'm a good sized fellow, and I about had my knees on the top of my feet and most of my butt hanging over on this little miniature stool. The only time I've seen a john this small is in a port-a-potty. Based on previous reviews, we didn't even bother looking at the complimentary continental breakfast. Tear this thing down. The company owns every other brand name hotel/motel on these two exits off of the freeway. read more

After a long day of traveling we just wanted a place to lay our heads. We had 5 in our family (3 teens). I called every place near wytheville and all booked but sleep had 3 rooms. Front desk woman said she would allow all 5 in same room but no cots are available here so she would give us extra sheets and blankets so a bed could be made on the floor. We arrive, check in and she hands us two top sheets, no extra pillow and no blanket because supposedly the franchise doesn't send extra linens?? What?! Why would she offer extras if she had no extras to spare?? Our room door knob was broken and taped up, the television had a weird film across it because it wasn't cleaned properly and u could see the fingerprints of everyone that had touched the microwave prior to us checking in ( gross!!!!) I am not impressed with them at all for being in the comfort inn family, not at all! If u want a cheap place to lay your head, this is it - $120 a night for two double beds. It's dirty, and I thought the front desk gal was less than enchanting. If u can get something better, don't stay here to save a buck. Just not worth it read more

Pros: Clean, economical, friendly service, convenient location. Cons: very small rooms, no pool, ice machine broken on 2nd floor.... My mom and I were driving for 12 hrs when he had to stop to sleep. The women who helped us was training at the time. She was very nice. Our room was perfect and the sleep was awesome. We had a large free hot breakfast in the morning. It was amazing. Coffee was so good! The lady even came and asked us how we slept and we talked for a bit and it was amazing. They were so nice. Threadbare sheets. Dingy walls and towels. Good wifi--I'm using it right now. The room was not adequately cleaned. There are crumbs of chips on the carpet and toothpaste streaks on the sink. Gosh I hope I can sleep tonight because I'm a bit grossed out. I haven't seen the breakfast yet but given the other descriptions I'm inclined to just skip it. My husband and I were looking for a cheap place to stay on our travels back home. We already spent enough on vacation. We decided to stay at the Sleep Inn. We were very pleased. You could not beat the price for just an overnight stay. Our main criteria is cleanliness. The hotel was clean. Most of it has been remodeled. The only dated items are the carpet and door locks. The bed was comfortable. Perfect for the cost. The room did not have a bath tub, fridge or microwave- but we did not need that. The shower was great. The hotel provided the typical breakfast. Good enough for passing through. 4 stars for this type of hotel. I would stay again for the pass through on a long ride for the cheap price. read more

Very mediocre hotel to begin with, but the service is the worst. Wytheville is a stop on our annual Myrtle Beach vacation, and I booked the hotel months in advance. Due to the travel ban and illness in the family we will not be going to Myrtle this year. The hotel refuses to cancel the reservation, and wants me to reschedule.. So people dying isn't a legitimate enough of an excuse to cancel a reservation?? No pool, shabby rooms, noisy maids in the morning at the crack of dawn, AND awful customer service?? Definitely will never book here again read more

They let us check in, without warning, when the hotel had no hot water. After trying to shower several times I gave up and went to talk to the desk. They stated "oh, we know. The whole building is out and has been since yesterday". I paid $90 for a hotel with no hot water. There was no sign, no warning, nothing. I'm not happy. We should've just picked one of the 9 other hotels within a mile, or at least the one across the street that's $30 less a night...at least they have hot water. It's frustrating and unsanitary. They're fixing it by crediting me $10. Ten dollars credit on a $90 hotel for not being able to shower, and above all the hotel knowing the issue and still letting us check in, is just adding insult to injury. Stay away from this hotel. I recommend the best Western 500 feet down the street. They have hot water. read more

Not a great choice of traveling with small children! I had no idea until we checked in but almost every room only has a shower, so I was unable to give my kids a bath. Only the handicapped rooms have a bathtub. Though their website says there are, there was no fridge or microwave in the room which was so inconvenient. Also their continental breakfast truly leaves something to be desired; I would go elsewhere to eat. I won't be staying here again. read more

Only use this hotel if there are no other options. Its not the worst hotel but it is not the best, far from. The ac machine sounded like it ran on a motorcycle engine. The bathroom door locks you in if you lock it the inside of it looks dirty and it looks like some one was murdered at one time in there because if you look at where the floor meets the wall there is a lot of blood dried blood.
